+ -1 morePlease switch the above and below reports. Make sure any carpet sales company will guarantee their product to you in case of possible carpet defections. Always do your due diligence before making a purchase of this magnitude. My husband and I were short on time because we each have very high demanding jobs.....no excuse. Sad to say but this Mom & Pop company is a prime example of why people buy from Nation Wide chains. We bought an eight pound pad to help prolong the carpets longevity, it did us no good and now the only way to recap some of our losses it to take Edwards Carpet to small claims court. By the way there is a standard 5 year guarantee on most carpets. Check that out to before you buy.
Description of Work: Edwards Carpet seems to pride it's self on high end carpeting; the salesman told me "after all this is Edwards Carpet, you will notice a huge difference in the quality of this friese carpet from others once you see it in your home." WRONG....the carpeting began to buckle and roll 6 months after installation. Edwards Carpet will come out and stretch the defective carpet they sell (they stretched ours about 3 to 4 times since 2008). But heres the really problem......they will not stand behind the cheap substandard product they sell. Now let me share what I now know about carpet distribution 101. In our case a Canadian mill made the carpet, then a Canadian distributor sold it to Edwards Carpeting. A year after buying our carpet the Canadian distributor went out of business. Edwards Carpet could not or would not disclose the Mill that made this carpet, but the owners sons keep pointing a finger at the mystery Canadian Mill. Edwards will not replace the defective carpet or give us any kind of refund.

+ -1 moreRESPONDED TO ONE OF THEIR ''SALES'' LETTERS ABOUT A SPECIAL. BECAUSE OF A MIX UP IN ROOM DIMENSIONS (MY FAULT), HAD TO RE-PRICE THE JOB AT WHICH POINT IT WAS PRICED OUT OF OUR PRICE RANGE. HOWEVER, THE SALESPERSON OFFERED TO GET A DEAL FROM ONE OF HIS SUPPLIERS. SINCE I AGREED TO IT, I DON'T HAVE ANY RECOURSE, BUT I DON'T THINK THE QUALITY OF THE CARPET WAS WORTH WHILE. WHAT IS MORE TROUBLING IS THAT I HAVE MADE CLOSE TO 20 PHONE CALLS TO RESOLVE ISSUES RELATED TO 1) SCHEDULING 2) PRICING 3) WARRANTY WORK. THEY EXPECT TO BE PAID THE DAY OF WORK (EVEN THOUGH I WAS OUT OF TOWN), BUT ON THE OTHER HAND MAKE THE CUSTOMER WAIT FOR SERVICE FOR WEEKS. STILL WAITING TO SEE IF CERTAIN ''SEAMS'' BECOME LESS VISIBLE OVER TIME (ACCORDING TO THE INSTALLERS). INSTALLERS CRITICIZE THE MEASURER FOR SENDING THEM OUT ON WARRANTY WORK. NOT A GOOD EXPERIENCE AT ALL.
Description of Work: CARPET (ALMOST) ENTIRE HOUSE. RETURNED ON SOME WARRANTY WORK.

+ -1 moreTHE SALESMAN WAS VERY HELPFUL AND SHOWED ME EXACTLY WHAT I WAS LOOKING FOR. THE INSTALLATION WAS PROMPT. THE INSTALLERS WERE VERY NEAT AND DID NOT DAMAGE THE WALLS.
Description of Work: THE COMPANY INSTALLED CARPETING THROUGHOUT THE SECOND FLOOR OF MY HOME.

+ -1 moreI ORDERED CARPETING THROUGH THEM AND PAID 50% DOWN. WITHIN 24 HOURS I CALLED TO CANCEL AND THEY REFUSED, STATING THE CARPET WAS ALREADY CUT. I FAXED THEM THE SAME REQUEST, AND THEY AGAIN REFUSED. THEY HAVE $2000 OF MY MONEY, AND REFUSE TO RETURN IT.
Description of Work: THEY WERE TO INSTALL CARPETING IN MY LIVING ROOM AND DINING ROOM, AND LINOLEUM IN MY KITCHEN.

+ -1 moreTHE SALESMAN, WAS QUITE COURTEOUS. WE EXPLAINED THAT OUR REALTOR AND BUILDER HAD SUGGESTED WE COME THERE, GET PRODUCT AND COLOR NUMBERS, AND SOME SAMPLES. WE LOOKED FOR ABOUT 5 MINUTES, AT WHICH TIME THE SALESMAN RETURNED, EXPLAINING THAT HE HAD TOLD HIS MANAGER WHAT WE WANTED, AND HIS MANAGER HAD REQUESTED THAT HE ASK US TO LEAVE "IN LIGHT OF THE SITUATION". I WAS AMAZED. WHAT HAD WE DONE WRONG? HE EXPLAINED THAT WE WERE GAINING THE BENEFIT OF THEIR KNOWLEDGE AND TIME, AND HIS MANAGER WAS UNHAPPY WITH THAT. WE WERE SENT THERE TO SELECT CARPETING FOR PURCHASE. I REALLY DON'T UNDERSTAND. I HAVE NEVER BEEN ASKED TO LEAVE A STORE BEFORE. WE LEFT IMMEDIATELY. I WILL NEVER RETURN.
Description of Work: WE ARE WORKING WITH A REALTOR AND BUILDER TO PURCHASE A NEW HOME. THEY BOTH SUGGESTED WE GO TO EDWARD'S CARPET, AND SELECT WHAT WE WANTED. WE WERE HAPPY WITH THE RECOMMENDATION, AS EDWARD'S HAS SOLD US SOME FINE AREA RUGS IN THE PAST.
