+ -1 moreshowed up with no notice and outside of the promised time frame. they worked slowly and took three hours to move 10 pieces of furniture. granted, there were some stairs, but they even had help from my partner so it shouldn’t have taken that long. damaged our furniture and just dropped it wherever in the apartment. charged $800 and then when i left a negative review on google, the owner called me and berated me then responded to my google review in the most childish, embarrassing way. they do not take responsibility for their actions so beware of them and the wrath of charles price, who is a complete jerk. save your money here and use two men and a truck instead.

+ -1 moreImpressive, personal customer service, prompt and courteous. Charles and his team of experts really shined on a day when rain was forecast. For many families, moving is stressful. But, this company went out of its way to make things as easy as possible. The owner himself actually showed up for awhile to help the guys pack things up just to beat the rain. It was incredible. And, the price was more than fair. Every member of the squad was so friendly, and they expertly reassembled a dining room table that would be puzzling to most. My added trip of emptying a storage locker was a breeze. 20 minutes after completion, the rains started. Dielman Moving saved my day.

+ -1 moreThese guys did an outstanding job with an extremely difficult move. We had a couple of large heavy pieces of furniture to move from the basement to the third floor. They had to navigate around extremely tight turns on the stairs. They accomplished the move without damaging the walls or furniture. They were very professional friendly and competent. Highly recommend them for any moving job.

+ -1 moreThe packing seemed to go well. The next day, however, the movers didn't arrive until almost ten o'clock. Then it took almost six hours to unload. By the time they arrived at the new place, they were hungry and tired. Around 6:00 a couple of the men almost dropped a couch. I told them to leave and come back when they weren't so tired. They returned Monday. When I went back to my old house, I found lights and a ceiling fan on and an upstairs window wide open. The estimator agreed that it should not have taken so long to unload my house. He also added that the men were tired from a very busy week. Maybe overscheduled???

+ -1 moreDo NOT hire this company! Owner and manager are both terrible and customer service, ethics and honesty are not their values. They quoted me a price to move out of town. When the day came, they sprung on me that there was going to be an additional charge for using a credit card that was never discussed or disclosed even asking them specifically if there were any hidden costs. They help my job of loading the truck up by over 2.5 hours while the workers QUIT working and waited to get approval from their boss who absolutely REFUSED to speak with me. I've never experienced anything like this. I ended up trying to reach the owner, which took forever, and he was not apologetic, resolved my issue, but was rude as could be. They were ill equip to handle an out of town move and should never have taken the job.

+ -1 moreChose Dielman's because they guaranteed a 2-day move. Movers were timely. Had a crew of 7 men with two trucks. Weather was a disaster in the second half of the day, with 5 inches of snow. Unable to get trucks up steep driveway, but the team persevered and worked until it was done. No complaining. Ended up costing more than estimated due to weather. However, nothing was broken and they returned a week later to finish moving outdoor furniture that we could not get the first time.

+ -1 moreThe scheduling of the estimate went well. Jeremy was punctual, seemed knowledgeable, professional and personable. After obtaining multiple bids we elected to go with Dielman as we had heard good things from a colleague who had recently used them as well. We decided to also hire them to do the packing. For the day of the packing we asked if starting at 10 am would be problematic as we would not be available until that hour and were told that it wouldn't be. Three packers came that day on time, but I guess there was either more for them to do than they anticipated or they were just not very efficient. They left at 5 pm without having finished a substantial portion of the packing, but promised to come by early the next morning prior to the movers getting to the house to finish. As it turns out the movers arrived on time as scheduled, but the packers did not.It took several hours to get even just one packer as apparently several people had called in sick that day. In the end we had two packers, the 4 movers, Jeremy, who came to help, and ourselves madly trying to finish the packing. As a consequence boxes were poorly labelled. The movers themselves were terrific. They were very helpful and really tried to reduce the stress around the situation as much as they could. The final price was substantially more than the initial bid because of the man hours it took to complete the packing. In the end it was really a tale of two very different experiences. We loved the quality of the work of the movers, but the packing left a whole lot to be desired. In the end there were two small items that were broken and were repaired. I would consider using the movers again, but would never consider ever allow the company to do the packing.

+ -1 moreThe experience was HORRIBLE!!! I haven't experienced such unprofessionalism in quite some time. The movers arrived hours late, the movers arrived at the wrong location, the movers were rude and had no explanation for being late, the dispatcher could not be reached despite numerous phone calls. To top it off, I paid more than 50% of the cost of the move in advance. I would NEVER recommend Dielman to anyone. I got the impression they were all completely incompetent.
Description of Work: Dielman was hired for a simple transaction. A refrigerator was to be picked up and brought to my home. The refrigerator at my home was to be taken to another home.

+ -1 moreThe entire crew was professional, careful, and worked incredibly hard to get everything done in one day. Steve is a terrific guy who managed his team very well and they did everything I asked and more. I would use them again and recommend them to anyone who asks. Their prices are incredibly reasonable and I did my comparison shopping. If you are going to use a moving company here in the St. Louis area, use Dielman Moving and Storage.
Description of Work: Moved our home 25 miles from one city to another, all within a single day. They also moved a ton of furniture to the garage that I was selling. This was no easy task as there were three floors of things to move down a maze of stairs to a home where they had to park at the bottom of a 75 foot driveway and cart everything up a long hill. It was impressive and the guys still had energy to burn.

+ 0 moreThis is my first negative comment page ever, so pretty easy going with things like this. Overall the people who moved my home were professional, and punctual, there seemed to be some confusion between the corporate office and what was supposed to be done at the moving location. Many calls back to "Steve" and Charles" back at the office. So they guys who moved worked hard, it just appears to be a issue of those running the company, they have been around a while. I would tend to think this is a new management team or new ownership, but a complete disappointment.
Description of Work: I had sold my home prior to finding a new one so I contacted several movers and found Dielman who advised they could move and place my items in a "climate controlled storage facility", The initial move went well, the charges for time back at their facility was a bit long, but it was part of my agreement to pay for this time to unload and load away from my house so I was fine. After three or four months I moved into my new home and had to actually re-hire them all over again, at the peak summer rate (which was higher than my original move) which was a bit of a surprise. The second move was a nightmare, a few problems were:- I had been charged four hours for two men to load the trucks prior to delivery, this seemed excessive- my leather recliner was unwrapped and was completely full of mold as if it was wrapped in a wet blanket- several pieces of wooden furniture were warped and it appeared to me that not stored in a climate controlled unit - when they first arrived there were two trucks, as we checked off items there were twenty three pieces missing, including a sofa sectional couch, a large sectional couch- they sent a crew back to the warehouse to retrieve these misplaced items, they did not charge me for this additional time- two items were missing and I was advised that they would arrive in a week or so, that they had been damaged in the original move. I was able to replace my Basset Furniture Leather Recliner and Sofa table, with a replacement value of $2900 for a negotiated check from Dielman for $1,500.00 with the promise to return the other damaged items to my liking. At this point I just wanted it to be over. Now I had purchased the additional insurance at the advice of a friend and it was to cover up to $2,500 worth of items. Well unfortunately one of the items damaged was a 125 year old break front hutch my mother brought to the states from Europe, it had iron for hinges that were damaged. After several attempts from Dielman to fix these hinges, attempts to weld, and replace, they simply handed the unit back to me and said, they could no longer do anything. So I have the piece in my front room, with broken hinges, and no commitment from Dielman to do anything. I was told, we gave you $1,500 for the damage.....?If moving wasn't hard enough, I have moved over a dozen times, and never had such a horrible experience, I would not use them ever again, and would go out of my way to tell my friends and family to never use them again.

I had to move my office on a Tuesday and the prior Saturday the previously scheduled movers couldn't provde the certificate of insurance (required by the building management) or the late afternoon move-in time (required by the new building management). Called Saturday mid-morning and had the move set for 3 days later, with the certificate of insurance, and agreement to move in late afternoon scheduled by noon! The 3 movers were very fast, efficient, and professional, And the move ended up costing a bit less than I was expecting!
Description of Work: Needed last minute movers to move office after originally scheduled movers had to be cancelled.

+ -1 moreOverall it went well. They only had 3 movers so it took them longer than planned (all day), but their price was fixed and they held to that. The movers were good, but one gentleman seemed to try to carry too much by himself (he struggled at times). We were concerned about possible damage to our stuff, but everything seemed to arrive just fine.
Description of Work: We moved the small items and boxes ahead of time. We hired the movers to move furniture, and large and heavy items (treadmill, appliances, etc). They were moving from a 2 story house to another 2 story house about 1/4 of a mile away.
