I wish I did not have to write this poor of a review but, after the experience I just had with Scott, I feel obligated to share with others that may consider using his company. He was unprofessional. Unreliable. Irresponsible. I can add a few more words but hopefully those are enough to paint his picture. I’ll explain below: I will preface this all with the fact that this is my first major project to be GC on however, I do not believe his actions were condoned with my lack of experience as a GC. We are currently renovating a house in a affluent zip code in the county. In an effort to work with smaller sized contractors, I reached out to Scott to have him walk through the house and describe our project with him. I was happy with his initial suggestions, demeanor and approach to working with him. So I committed to using him. 6 months ago, he said he was about 2 weeks out from being able to start his work. He told me he would be ready. 3 weeks pass and no word. I called him multiple times then he finally responded and told me he was trying to finish up other projects first to clear his plate to get started with us. Fair enough, this was going to be a big job and I wanted to be patient with him as I knew contractors were getting bogged down during Covid and getting pickier with who they were working with. Almost 2 months then pass by and still no word. I had so many other projects going on that I assumed he would call when ready but, he didn’t. So I called him multiple times, again... He finally got back to me and told me he hurt his wrist and needed time to see a doctor and heal. A week turned into many and then he told me a story about getting exposed to Covid and needing to quarantine. I had no reason to not believe it, again these are though times, but the story seemed extreme. So I let him off the hook again for not getting back in touch with me. Another 3 weeks pass and we meet again to walk thru my progress and review the job. He asked multiple questions, I answered them and everything seemed to go well. He talked about ceiling access and asked if I would be tearing the ceiling down in the kitchen area. Mentioning his work would be cheaper if I tore it down. I told him I did not want to do that as I would have to replace all the insulation and with the colder weather upon us it would make remodeling the interior miserable and that I was fine paying him more to do the work. He seemed fine. It finally felt like were ready, he just needed to do some lighting design help with us for the can lights and then said he could start the work three weeks later. The day he was supposed to start, he sent me a TEXT saying “the ceiling was not down and the insulation would be messy. And thought he wanted to pass on the job.” I immediately tried calling him, he didn’t pick up. I texted him back asking him to call me. Nothing. I called and left multiple messages again. Nothing. I went back to the house to inspect and he opened up the temporary ceiling, pulled away the new insulation I had up there to keep the house warm, determined he didn’t want to do the work and walked out. Didn’t even take the time to cover everything back up. Now I can imagine all the sorts of people and projects these contractors have to deal with and understand the flip side of this story. But I was transparent the entire time, overly patient and understanding and always asking what I could do to help him get started but then ultimately treated like this? “Breaking up with me” over text and not talking to me???! What a joke

Dan Moushey Electric is a great company. Service was prompt, professional, and courteous. All repairs requested were made in a timely manner. The price was very fair for the work completed. Would definitely hire this company again.

Dan arrived on time and walked through all of the issues with me before commencing. He was efficient and polite. He was even able to detect that an outdoor outlet was live and that is was controlled by an interior light switch. I would definitely hire him again.
Description of Work: I had a house inspection for the sale of my house. As a result, several issues needed to be addressed to bring everything up to code. Outlets needed to be ground and/or replaced and wires needed to re-routed.
