I feel that Hewitt's creative ego got in the way, he did not listen to what I wanted and went ahead and did things in the garden as he wanted them. If you are someone who likes highly manicured landscapes and are willing to give over complete control to this gardener then this is the guy for you. But I felt that he did not respect my needs and what my vision was for a garden that I had been building for 15 years. He did not know kinds of plants, he mulched high on tree trunks and plants which promotes disease and bug infestation and insisted on trimming trees which he is evidently not trained to do correctly. DO NOT LET HIM NEAR YOUR TREES! I now have to hire an arborist who can correct what he did to my tree.
Description of Work: The gardener was hired to trim bushes and weed the gardens. I walked him through the front and back yards and described to him what I wanted done. He started in the front yard and worked all day on it. He did more than I wanted him to do. He spent more time on it than he should have. He did trim the bushes and weeded but also insisted on using a top mulch that he had to go get and refused to use the top mulch that I had already purchased. That was an additional 1-1/2 to 2 hours of time. He then proceeded to trim one of the street trees that was in my neighbors yards and is owned by the city of St. Louis. He really just cut away what he thought was messy and did not prune it appropriately. The agreement was to come back the next day and work in the backyard. After having seen some of his horticultural practices I felt I should leave a note and outline exactly what I wanted. I was leery of his pruning capabilities and asked him not to trim the trees. When I came home that evening he had trimmed a tree, it was not properly pruned and one side was trimmed so much it is lopsided and naked one side. I have a cottage style garden and asked him to keep it in it's natural state. When he worked on the front yard it was highly manicured. It is not the style of garden that I have in the backyard and so in the note I told him how I would like the style of the garden to be. No work was done. Hewitt declared it a "wildflower garden" which it is not and said to leave the weeds go to flower. He did not trim the bushes or weed as asked and inappropriately trimmed a tree that I asked him not to.

I have a backyard garden that had lost its way due to some neglect. The team at Clean-a Lot came over and without any delay began to transform the garden to the vision I had originally intended. There were even some stepping stones that had been covered up with dirt and they uncovered them. I had forgotten how much I loved the way they looked. The whole garden appeared refreshed and manicured. They were professional, timely and caring. True gardeners with great sensibility and knowledge of plants. I could not have been more pleased.
Description of Work: Garden clean up, trimming, weeding.
