CLAYTON APPLIANCE SERVICES

After listening to the problem,the door of the dishwasher was removed and the bottom was opened. Lots of stuff was checked with complaints of our German built,2,Bosch, was built backwards. After all of this, he said that he didn't know what was wrong, but recommendation to replace the timer motor was made. After searching high and low, the model number, could not be found by the service personnel . ( I later found the number on the top edge of the door). At this time I asked them to leave. About a week later, another agency found and fixed the problem, a broken wire, in 15 minutes.

I feel I was overcharged and that the company misrepresented their charges. I contacted this company and arranged for them to simply tighten the hoses to my washing machine and cut the dryer vent to reduce the excess. Prior to their arrival, I was quoted a $49 service fee plus the cost of the time required for these two simple tasks. At no time was I ever told there would be an additional fee for a second appliance. I watched as the work was performed. The only work these two men did was to tighten the hose at the faucets on the washing machine and cut out the excess dryer vent with a pair of scissors. At the time of payment, I was charged the $49 service fee, plus $60 for labor, plus an additional $20 fee for a "second appliance". I was never advised prior to the work being performed that I would be charged a "second appliance" fee. To the contrary, I was advised the fee was $49 plus the cost for the time. This was quoted both by the woman who first took my call and by the serviceman or owner prior to his arrival. I feel the charges were excessive. It should not have taken 45 minutes to tighten twohoses and to cut the dryer vent. When I complained about the additional fees, they were quite rude, insisting I pay the full amount, which I did. I would never use this company again nor recommend it. I feet that this was a classic "bait and switch."

I went through 10-15 companies who told me they could not schedule me until the next week (since it was a Friday). With a refrigeraotr full of food, I needed to find someone that day. When I contacted Clayton Appliance, I was told he could come out later that afternoon. He came right when he said that he would and diagnosed that my condenser fan was loose and needed to be replaced. He went to the parts shop, came back, put it on, cleaned the area behind the refigerator and even fixed the feet of the unit so that it wouldn't be so wobbly. He was very friendly and I was very pleased to have the problem solved.

Repairman responded promptly to call and appeared to perform a battery of tests. He answered all of my questions. He concluded that there was a micro-hole in the gas/fluid system that causes the cooling. Repairman indicated that repairing such holes is not terribly effective. He gave an estimate of the cost, but I do not recall what he said. He said he did not do that kind of work and gave the phone number of a person I could call to do it. We also discussed the relative cost of repair against the purchase of a new unit. I was going out of town and decided to defer the decision. When I returned I found that the ice maker and freezer were performing properly. To present, I have not encountered further problems. My rating is based on the error in judgment, which could have cost the price of a new refrigerator, when one was not immediately necessary. I believe that the repair man did some other small repairs the nature of which I cannot presently recall. I was satisfied with the performance of that work. I regarded the amount charged for service to have been reasonable.

They are the greatest in the world and it was a super experience. I would use them again. They are good.

We bought a home with 10 year old appliances. The KitchenAid refrigerator water dispenser and the lights on the Viking cook top exhaust fan didn't work. The gentleman from Clayton Appliance came to our house twice to complete repairs to the refrigerator and exhaust fan. He had to order a part for the fan and returned to install it a week later. He was courteous, knowledgable, and hard working. He was able to restore both appliances to good working condition. While the repairs were expensive, we knew it was far less expensive than replacing the appliances. We will definitely use Clayton Appliance again when we need repairs.

They were great. They were excellent. We spent about $120 on that service. The work they did went very good overall. They were punctual and came in within a couple of days. They diagnosed the problem right away and we actually told them that the dryer was electric, but it turned out to be gas, but they still had all the parts on their vehicle. They were very polite and were in and out within about an hours time and it was an excellent experience.

Left message w/ answering service, call returned in a couple of hours. We've used Jim many times and he knows our aging appliances well. Dug out the bottom of the dishwasher, changed what needed to be changed, and finished up. This is my 15th year of using his services, and we rely on him.

We have always had a good service. He usually comes the day we call and always fixes the appliance properly. We've never had to call him back to redo a repair.

THIS WAS THE THIRD COMPANY THAT HAD COME OUT TO LOOK AT MY FRIDGE. HE SAYS HE THOUGHT IT NEEDED A NEW ICE MACHINE AND A DOUBLE FILL VALVE. HE CAME BACK WHEN I TOLD HIM IT WASN'T WORKING HE PUT A PINCH VALVE ON MY ICE MACHINE. THE THIRD TIME HE CAME BACK WITH "AN EXPERT" WHO HE WAS SUPPOSED TO SEND OUT IN THE FIRST PLACE, WHO SAID THAT THE ICE MACHINE WAS NOT THE PROBLEM AND THAT MY FRIDGE WAS NOT COLD ENOUGH TO MAKE THE ICE MACHINE WORK PROPERLY. I FEEL LIKE A SHOULDN'T HAVE TO PAY FOR AN ICE MACHINE THAT I DIDN'T NEED.

THE PRICE IS ALWAYS THE SAME PRICE. WHEN HE LEAVES EVERYTHING WORKS AND CHARGES $155.
