Description of Work: I called Champion and Joel came to give me an estimate for repairing a number of dents in my wood floors. To my shock and amazement, Joel counseled us to wait another year or two before doing any repairs. He said our floors are in relatively good shape and it is yet necessary to get them repaired. How refreshing to receive candid advice even when it means the vendor loses a sale. I will definitely call Champion when the time comes!

Description of Work: We converted from wall to wall carpeting in three rooms to hardwood and from hardwood in one room to tile. We decided that we would do the carpet to hardwood stage first and if Champion did a good job, then we would have them do the hardwood to tile. The carpet to hardwood was beautiful; the hardwood to tile, not so much. The first problem was that they ripped out the hardwood from the powder room, which was supposed to stay hardwood, so we ended up without a powder room until that was straightened out. They took FOREVER to do the tiling, and they left the house a mess at the end of each day. When they were finished, the tile looked horrible! It was uneven and we kept stubbing our toes on the edges of the tiles. The weird thing is that the same guy who did the nice job on the hardwood did the horrible job on the tile. So we withheld payment until they did it right. They put different people on the job for the re-do--these guys were fast, professional and did a beautiful job. So, basically the reason I give them a B is because they were very good about resolving the problem. | |It makes you wonder how useful the whole concept of Angie's List is, or even one's own experience when choosing a contractor. I would use Champion again, but I would insist on having Jeff & Curtis do the work.

Description of Work: We were moving into a new home and Scott, our sales rep, was able to get us on the books for the day after we closed, even though it was a Friday. Champion had a team come out to strip and custom match our wood floors. The did a great job of creating the color and look I wanted. While they were not the cheapest bid we had, I felt confident in their ability to do the job we wanted done.

Description of Work: Champion performed a removal of all my living room flooring including hardwood entryway and carpet. An entry closet and half abth were also stripped to the subfloor. All that was replaced by solid hardwood flooring (about 400 square feet). Some removal of existing cove molding was included. That material was replaced after the completion of the flooring. Some additional quarter round was also added. Services took 3.5 days. The installer was very efficient and sustained a good pace. Some delays due to equipment failure but that was relatively minor.

Description of Work: I had a 5'x5' hardware floor that was warped in front of the dishwasher. Champion was able to sand it down and restain perfectly, without replacing the whole floor. Verry happy with them.
