Mr. Johnson came to my home and give us a bid. He is very considerable and worked around my schedule (on a Saturday). He arrived on time and he is very knowledgeable and professional. He explained to me in details on how he will do the job and the bid process is straight forward. I did not use him because I needed a cabinet to be modified and installed - which he could not give me a firm price. His overall pricing on other jobs is very reasonable. I will definitely consider to work with him if I have other painting job in future.

First, we were moving into a new house, had closed on it, had closed on a contract with Brian to paint it, and then our house deal fell through. While he could have kept our deposit legally, Brian was understanding enough to give us our money back on the if/come we would come back when we bought a house. Good businessman and good person. We eventually bought a house two months later and Brian actually gave us an estimate to paint the entire thing which was LESS than the former house (even though the square footage was more)...I would have not known if would be less and he could have easily said it would be the same amount. Again, ethical, fair guy who gives estimates based on work and not on what he can get away with. I heard about this from a reference I got at work and it was 100% confirmed with me. The services he and his partner performed were FANTASTIC. Brian is a detail freak (much like myself and my wife), where small details that are not right bother him more than the owner. He would often fix things we would miss. He is an advocate for the homeowner as well, fighting with his paint company on our behalf because he knew the paint they gave him was not right. Ultimately, that's his strength...top quality workmanship with an uncompromising focus on doing what the customer wants to make him/her happy. We piled on extras during the process ("can you do this, can you do that" etc) and he had no problem doing them and came back with a very fair price after the fact for all that was done (he could have jacked this up given we didn't negotiate the price before hand...he did not...again, fair and ethical). He also did some very intricate stripe painting work on our little boy's room instead of wallpaper and its simply spectacular. Brian and his partner Tim were fantastic with my wife and child as well. Completely trustworthy...had no problems giving him the keys to the house to do his work. I would highly recommend Brian for anybody who wants top quality workmanship. Not the cheapest (still a value), but clearly top-tier in terms of quality. I would go directly to Brian for my next job and not bid out the job.
Description of Work: Brian did a wide variety of things for us. The primary thing was he painted every interior room in our new home (3000 square feet). He also did crown molding work for us, installed lights, changed closet doors, basically anything a new homeowner would want cosmetically on a home.

Overall, I am not pleased. They were on-time for the estimate and start of work, and appeared to work hard throughout the project. I choose BJR because the estimate was almost $2000 lower than my next lowest bid, but they 'nickel and dimed' us all the way through the job so it didn't end up being much cheaper than a more reputable company, and the quality is sub-par. The walls look okay, but the ceilings where they removed popcorn and floated a new ceiling are uneven; you can see the drywall tape on cracks, and they are still sort of textured, which is not what they had represented the work would look like when finished. We are planning to get the rest of our house painted in the next month or two and will definitely go with another company.
Description of Work: They removed some popcorn ceiling, painted the living room, dining room, stairway, upstairs hallway in a 1920s home and did minor plaster repair.

We have worked with Brian and Tim before. Brian is fair, punctual, and easy to get along with. The work is always professional. When the insurance company told us to hire whoever we wanted we knew who we were going to call. They have never disappointed us. From start to finish BRJ Painting rates and A+ from us.
Description of Work: After the ice storm last November we had a pipe break in the attic which spewed water across our bedroom and on the other side of the wall into the dining room. It was below freezing in our house. Also the sun room needed to be painted again because the ceiling cracked along the molding. After two weeks of drying out rooms by Floodmasters we had Brian come in. He and Tim did a fantastic job of repairing the ceiling and painting. They put it back into it's original condition. These guys do great work and they are so careful with taping and covering everything. This is about the fourth time we have hired them and we are going to hire BRJ Painting again this spring to paint all of our sun room and dining room doors and mullions. We have found no paint droppings and they came back and at no charge repaired two leaks in the sun room ceiling that they had just finished painting. These leaks were from the January ice storm.

Brian and Tim were on time, polite, and clean up was great. Our experience with them was wonderful. These were 2 separate jobs. They finished each of them in 1 day, and the cleanup was fantastic. Having had other painters over the years, we were expecting to do some cleanup ourselves. I think we found 2 or 3 drops of paint. Best of all was the price. It was reasonable and because of that, we were able to have more painting done than originally planned. I would highly recommend them. It was a pleasant experience.
Description of Work: I had a bathroom with vaulted ceilings painted. The living room and hallways were also painted, as well as the open staircase leading to lower level.
