ARCHITECTIVE HOME INSPECTION LTD

I was interested in having a home inspection done to identify any areas that we should focus on for maintenance this year and to minimize any surprises when we eventually think about selling our home. Mike was very personable and took the time to make sure he understood my objectives and goals and explained everything that he would be doing during the inspection. He kept me informed throughout the inspection and reviewed his findings verbally while he was onsite, and I had the finished report that evening. All very professional and thorough. Would hire again. I also appreciated that during the initial call to setup the appointment Mike said that he would wear a mask while in our home and asked that we do the same before I asked the same. I've found most people are happy to comply when they are here to do work, but I appreciate that Mike was proactive about our safety and his.

Excellent. Mike was on time and knew the area and the homes well. He thoroughly inspect my entire property and took the time to explain what any issues were, as well as how urgently they needed to be addressed. He followed up with a report soon after. I would definitely hire him again in the future and would recommend him to anyone buying or selling in the same area.

Mike did an excellent job. We walked through the house with him while he inspected it, and he not only pointed out what issues there were, but he explained WHY they were an issue. The report that he sent to us that evening went into great detail, with appropriate pictures. This will help in our negotiations with the sellers.

Mike was a great home inspector and even attempted to do the best inspection he could of the snow covered roof. I arrived a few minutes late due to the weather and my parents had gotten started for me with the inspection. When I arrived about 5 minutes late, he was already on the roof doing that inspection and took me back through everything he had already inspected on the exterior of the house. He found some concerns and gave me advice for future maintenance to keep from having further problems in the home. He even caught a physical safety hazard that I was completely oblivious to when I initially looked at the home. I appreciated his humor and that he entertained/was always polite to my father who tends to be a rambler. Everything we spoke about ended up on the lengthy, in-depth report he emailed out to me the same afternoon. Hopefully I will not need another home inspection in the future, but in the case I do or a friend needs a referral I will certainly be recommending Mike.

I contacted Mike about a home inspection that we needed ASAP due to a tight window til close and he responded immediately and had an inspection scheduled for a couple days later. Mike showed up before my wife and I had arrived and had already gave a once over of the outside of the house and began his inspection. The house we are purchasing is over 100 years old, so I wanted a thorough inspection and Mike gave us exactly that. He left no stone unturned and pointed out to us everything in the house (within the scope of his inspection) that needed to be fixed. Once his work was completed, he provided us with a detailed inspection report later that night. I'd highly recommend Mike as a home inspector (and especially if you are purchasing an older house).

Appointment was booked quickly and inspector arrived on time. Extensive written report, along with several photos provided within 24 hrs of inspection. Description of property and deficiencies were noted in great detail and easy to read/understand for the average homeowner. Although lengthy, the notes on issues/deficiencies did not include the level of detail I expected (i.e., report stated "several improperly wired outlets" instead of specifying how many and exact location). Also, a couple of significant HVAC issues were missed entirely. Had they been noted on the report, I may have been able to go back to the seller for compensation. For this reason, I gave a B rating rather than an A.

He was prompt, very professional and completely thorough. He has broad knowledge and wants to be sure that you understand what he is doing and suggesting. I would highly recommend using this person!

Mike Boyd was fantastic. I would recommend him to anyone. He took his time and inspected every detail of the home. He is very thorough and knowledgeable. Mike emailed us his color-coded report the same day that included a very helpful summary at the end. He was also able to schedule us for the day after we called, which is extremely helpful in the home-buying process!

IIt is a large and old house and we started at the top and worked our way to the basement. He was very knowledgable about old houses and the report he provided the next day was very detailed and thorough. He has also replied to a couple emails since then where had some questions about the wood flooring in my house. I would recommend to anyone.

I effectively purchased a subscription to Angie's List so that I could write a review of Architective Home Inspection (not that he needs my help in the review department). We have employed Mike (the owner/operator) twice -- once for the house we currently live in, and another time for a house we put an offer on. I did not have a chance to meet him the first time around (but I read his report), but the second time around I did follow him around and through the house for the duration of the inspection. Mike is upfront about his costs, punctual, professional, affable, willing to explain things, and very no-nonsense. He is also very upfront about what he is NOT able to do. But most importantly, I would find it hard to imagine a more thorough individual. He went on the roof, into attics, behind access panels, removed breaker panel covers, pulled out and checked appliances (taking pictures all along). Then, within five hours, he produced and e-mailed a 30 page report, annotated with photos that he took, covering 17 broad categories and -- if I counted correctly -- 239 individual items that he inspected and grouped into three broad, color-coded categories: Functional, Marginal and Unacceptable. Many of the "Marginal" and "Unacceptable" items contained recommendations on how to proceed, and the end of the report contained itemized summaries of all the "Marginal" and "Unacceptable" items for convenience. Incredible.

We had actually scheduled with another provider who had a last minute accident and was unable to make it. Mike Boyd was able to squeeze us in with less than 24hrs notice so that we could get the inspection done at the same day/time we had originally planned. He was prompt and very professional, took his time, and answered all of our questions (first time home buyers, we had a lot of questions). Would highly recommend!

It was great service and he found a missing vent in the bathroom that I had to get fixed..which itself was probably worth getting the inspection done. He also found other small things which I got fixed.

We gave a Mike a really short notice, but he responded and acted timely and get everything settled. He is patient in explaining the house system, so we learned the functions of the house components. He did a great job in his comprehensive analysis and the report runs into every corner. We are very satisfied with his service and appreciate his help.

Mike is the true consummate professional. He is extremely professional, honest and knowledgable. I loved his "matter of the fact " approach. This is a rare quality we find this days. He was punctual and went thru every aspect of inspection. I purchased a fairly new home. But his thorough inspection did find several critical issues. Most of the service providers responsibilities stop right on the date of service. He responded to several queries I had and provided me guidance. He treated the service as a complete one and he followed thru the process from inspection to the date of closing. I was very much impressed with his devotion and passion for excellence. Mike is the ultimate consummate professional. This is not an accolade I can easily give it to anyone. He earned it.

Inspected house built in 1893 that needs a substantial rehab. Confirmed a lot of issues we new of, found and pointed out other various issues and potential problem areas. Was knowledgeable and paid attention to detail. Spent most of the day inspecting the house and then delivered a very detailed home inspection report within a couple days.

Very thorough and very fast results. Will recommend again.

He inspected for over 3 hours. There were three different inspectors who came in. They were extremely thorough!

Looked everywhere he could, had termite contractor come, sewer guy came & did pictures.

First let me say, I tried to get Mike on the last house that we were going to purchase but he was on vacation so I had to settle for another company and boy, there is a huge different. Mike arrived early on the appointed day and got right to work. He is very cordial, knowledgeable and efficient. He started on the outside and worked his way into the house. He noted things that were minor issues as well as things that were of a more serious nature. Again, I can not stress the knowledge of this man. This guy was up in the attic, under sinks and squatting in dark, dirty places. He took pictures and made extensives notes. He emailed a detailed report that afternoon. I do not have enough adjectives to describe this man work ethic so if you are looing for a home inspector go no farther.

Mike was a great home inspector. He set up the sewer and radon testing for us, and did a thourough job of inspecting a home we just purchased. He was on time and prepared for our appointment. I appreciated his honesty in pointing out what didn't need to fixed right away or what was an easy/inexpensive fix. Report was comprehensive and very detailed. Would highly recommend.

Overall it was a very good experience. Mike was thorough and professional and found problems that we would never have found on our own. He provided a quick turn around so that we were able to find another house that meets our needs. Mike inspected it too, discussing all the issues with my wife while I was out of town and sending the report to us both. He made us feel confident that we are getting what we expect. I would recommend Mike to anyone considering a home purchase.
