Apartment Exchange

Description of Work: Extremely long story short, Maintenance team dropped our apartment key in the hallway. Downstairs, drug addict neighbor found it and was coming into our apartment multiple times slowly taking things. We had roughly about $2000 worth of goods stolen, not to mention an irreplaceable 1950's wedding ring. We set up a hidden camera once we became suspicious of things missing. Caught him coming into the apartment and taking things. Police were called and arrested the guy after he had pawned a bunch of things and his name had triggered the alert. Once arrested he admitted to finding a key in the hallway and thats how he was coming in and out. He was prosecuted and is still in jail. We still never got the wedding ring, iPad and multiple other things back, not to mention days of work missed and loads of cash stolen. When we told Apartment Exchange of what was going on and that we needed our locks changed, they accused us of giving our keys out to people and refused to come out and change them. Which resulted in another break in which lead to the arrest. Once the police called them, THEN they came out. Informed Regie (whoever the h*** he is) of the issue and he seemed to not care at all. When i wrote a letter for reimbursement, they flat out denied and said it wasn't their fault. When i called to ask to not get charged our last months rent the woman treated me like a criminal. Hysterically repeating that its not their problem and that i would pay and pay the lease breaking fee if i left early. No one will transfer me to a manager/owner. Im pretty sure they do not know the situation because i would hope that if they did, they would want to do anything they could to help. Overall living in one of their apartments for over 2 years, i do NOT recommend these horribly organized people. They are fine if you don't need them for anything (legal, maintenance, etc. issues), otherwise just pay more for a nicer apartment elsewhere with a more hands on management.
