The morning of move, nobody had called or shown up by 9am. I called the office and received a call back, they arrived about 9:25 with one man short, which only left 4 to do the work. I had conveyed to Mike (who gave me the quote) that we had an assembled treadmill in the basement. He said it wouldn't be a problem. He also told me that bedroom furniture that only had clothing didn't have to be emptied; they would just shrink wrap it closed and move it. The movers said they knew nothing about shrink wrap and they had to be emptied. The movers also fought me several times about the treadmill because it was a difficult item, even though we had disassembled it as much as it could. The movers were pleasant, but as they day went on, the professionalism went right into the toilet. They were bickering and fighting with each other all day long. Finally after 12 solid hours, I sent them home even though they only got 1/2 of the basement done. I didn't blame the workers for some of their frustration; they said they are never given any information about what to expect when they arrive at a home. That combined with being one man short made for a frustrating day for everyone. I was given an hourly discount because I was promised 5 movers, but it didn't make up for the fact that I had to spend another 1/2 day moving items that should have been moved by the moving company. Compared to other quotes I received, the price was much better, but in hindsight, the other companies spent a good 20 minutes with me so they knew exactly what the contents of every room had so they knew what to expect. Also, there were quite a few furniture pieces that were scratched and dented because they weren't wrapped appropriately. Yes, Anchor did pay for a repair person to come out, but I had to take 1/2 day of work to deal with that. We also had many more items that were damaged, but not shown to us by any of the movers. Cheaper is not always the better option.

They showed up semi promptly, they were all very courteous, but they stole some stuff from me. He said he would check in to it but I can not get them back on the phone. A few items were damaged as well.

I guess things were OK. Another company probably would have been the same, except most movers didn't want to bother with my small stuff. The owner discounted me $20 when I complained about the price which seemed a little high. The two movers were very nice, but they had difficulty figuring out how to move the treadmill base. They dropped the top part on my hardwood floor. They then decided they needed moving blankets. Too late. It's only 12 steps down to my basement, so they didn't have far to go. The bed rails just needed to be picked up and the head and foot boards brought down. Would have done that myself except I have carpal tunnel. I might decide to use them again, but I will suggest they put down blankets first instead of after.

It was great! Prior to setting up with the move date, I spoke with Mike at Anchor Moving Company, who answered all my questions and was very pleasant. Anthony and Tony who did the actual moving were wonderful. They were professional and easy to talk to. They were very careful with our furniture and loading the boxes. I used Anchor Moving a couple of times back in 2014 and was very satisfied with both moves. I would definitely use them again.

They were great. We would absolutely use them again. We moved a lot of stuff ourselves, but they moved a lot of the big stuff. We'd give them an A on everything.

First, to be clear: these guys are *not* the best movers money can buy. If you need somebody to move your collection of Chihuly glass sculpture, Anchor probably shouldn't be your first call. In our case, probably the weirdest thing they did was wrap a cactus terrarium in paper and pack it deep in a moving box, with no particular labeling or cautions. By the time we unpacked it a couple of weeks later, the plants were considerably the wose for wear. Also, there were several scrapes and dings in the furniture, most notably a dining room table where I'd asked them to be particularly cautious. What Anchor does do, however, is a reasonably accceptable job at a strikingly low price. Their coordinator on the phone was responsive and answered my questions. (He may have been the owner.) They showed up on time, as scheduled, with one less guy than they'd promised, but they still got the job done. Despite some inexpert packing and small bits of damage, most of my stuff made it to our new house intact. The movers were courteous, worked hard, and were clearly trying to do good work. And the price: wow. At least 50% below the next lowest bid that I had. It was enough of an outlier that I would have been suspicious without the recommendation of a friend who dealt with them. Can't argue about the price. Overall, if you're price-sensitive and moving in St. Louis, I'd definitely recommend them. Another agency will probably do a 20% better job at 200% of the cost.

They gave me a competitive quote, were on time, very careful with my furniture and piano, very polite and professional crew and completed the job for less than the quote. I have already hired them again to move some items to another location and again, they exceeded my expectations. I recommend them without reservations.

We have quite a bit of stuff and the move went well. Nothing was broken or damaged.

We hired 4 men and two trucks. 2 men and one truck arrived on time. Others did not show, but the owner compensated by sending three men and a truck a few hours later at no additional cost. The two movers that were there on time, reassured us and stayed positive. After being moved we noticed some minor damage to some furniture and a tv was damaged. The owner sent someone to fix the furniture and replaced the tv. Some damage is to be expected with any large move so I was more than pleased with how Mike remedied the situation. I would hire again.

Moving out of the house was OK at best. Anchor didn't send the correct equipment for the move, not did the put protection on the carpet or corners like other movers do. They never looked at what I was moving or storing before sending a crew out to do the packing and moving. The crew showed up with my furniture but wouldn't unload half of it without a cashier's check that he could have told me about days before. The crew was slow, rude, totally unorganized and careless. Articles were damaged that they packed. The owner denied having packed anything until I sent him a copy of the endorsed check. Many items had mold on them and everything smelled. After two months of waiting for him to react to my damage claim I had to threaten him with legal action. He claims he is sending someone from his insurance company but that remains to be seen. Previously, he said he was going to send a "repair man" instead of making an insurance claim. There was also damage done to the walls of my house. He said his "repair man" would fix the damage but that I had to go out and get the paint. Stay as far away as you can from Anchor Moving. There are better choices. Avoid the hassles. I spent over $12,000 in moving and storage fees with Anchor.

PLEASE do NOT use this company!!! After the move I discovered that a valuable item of mine was missing ($1500-$1800) from the move. I reported it to the police, but Anchor would assume NO responsibility for the loss. I trusted them.....sadly.

The only thing broken in the move was something we broke ourselves- a far better track record than any of our previous moves! Anchor moved the whole house in the rain. Great price & quality product.

Mike worked with me to get the date I needed and then sent 2 wonderful gentlemen to assist me in my move. The 2 men were very nice and efficient. I will be keeping this number for future use.

This was the second time we used Anchor moving and they did a great job both times. I would highly recommend them. 2 thumbs up!

The move went very well! Anchor sent 3 very nice gentlemen to help us with our move. They were extremely efficient, polite and it went off without a hitch! We will definitely use them again when we move out of our apartment to our forever home.

It went well. There was a damaged chair and they got it taken care of on my schedule.

They charged by the hour which I was a bit skeptical at first, but their price was right and their reviews were very good. They showed up and completed the move ahead of their estimated time. I was very impressed by the crews work ethic. This company definitely exceeded my expectations. They deserve their A rating.

It was a very small move and nobody will really take it. It was mostly boxes. Its just a load of tubs and boxes. It was just stuff that lose ends in my old house that I had to pack up and get rid of. Its stuff that I didn't know if I was going to be able to store over here, Christmas decorations, that kind of stuff. Its stuff that will be in your basement or in your garage is what I have moved. I did all the packing. I made it very easy for them. I had most everything in the garage, all the tubs in the garage for them. They also dismantled all of my bedroom steps in the top floor of my second story house and I was giving those away. They unhooked all that furniture and brought that down to the garage for the donation truck to come the next day.It was not more than one car garage full of stuff. They had tools to undo my bedroom set that was huge. I could not do that by myself. I was able to get the donation trucks come the next morning to take that away. They moved it 25 miles away. They store all the stuff on the garage, packed that little box truck, drove 25 miles, unpacked it and then that was the job. They were very nice. I would use them again.

They were fine. They were hardworking and did everything we asked them to do.

The 3 guys showed up on time. Worked hard the entire time. Took good care of our furniture. Set it in the exact place that we wanted it as directed at the new house. Were friendly, pleasant, helpful, wanted to please us and they did.

I cannot say enough good thinks about Anchor Moving. From the first phone call to the end of the job, they were very responsive returning all of my calls very quickly. The bill was very fair and exactly what I expected. The 3 movers were very polite, professional and extremely careful with all of my things. Nothing was damaged or broken. They took apart all the beds and reassembled them. They also disconnected the washer and gas dryer, inserting the packing bolts as I requested in the washer. They always asked about placement of the furniture and were patient when I changed my mind. Mike who answers the phone always answered my questions thoroughly since I had never used a mover before. They also gave a discount of 6 dollars an hour for Angie's list customers.

Mike, the owner, was very responsive and followed through as promised. The two men who moved the furniture were respectful and considerate. One of the young men was responsible for a tear in my sofa when the cushion was caught on an external mailbox at the condo. He was very remorseful and apologetic and assured me the company would fix it. The owner has sent out an adjuster to look at the damage later this week. I don't know what will happen. This is a nearly brand-new sofa and I am sick about the tear but difficult to be too angry because the young man was so sorrowful and willing to take responsibility. I appreciate the owner also accepting responsibility and helping to resolve the issue. Jan.31, 2015 update: After several months of delay, none of which was the responsibility or fault of Mike or Anchor moving, my repaired sofa was delivered today. Again, the delivery crew was respectful of my belongings, kind and friendly to people and professional and efficient in their delivery This is one company that stands behind their promise and delivers on customer expectations even though mine was a small move. I believe you can trust this company and recommend them for all moving needs.

This was the first time we used this company and I was very impressed with these movers! I was very anxious about the move given the fact that I've had almost all bad experiences with movers in the past. These movers were right on time, polite, efficient, and careful. I called multiple moving companies to get quotes and Anchor Moving Company was the best price by far. One very well known company quoted me $30/hour more with less movers than Anchor. I also appreciated that they quoted me is what I paid (no hidden charges). I was worried at first because they didn't wrap furniture before taking it out to the truck. However, they were incredibly careful and after they took it out to the truck, another mover then wrapped it and carefully packed it in the truck. They didn't scratch or damage a single thing. At one point, they thought they had broken a coat rack and came to us to let us know: "Hey, we think we broke this. We apologize and we will take care of it". The coat rack had actually already been broken (from a previous move) but I greatly appreciated their honesty when they could have easily pretended it didn't happen. I'm sure they were very tired given the amount of stairs involved in our move, but they remained pleasant the entire move. I was very happy with this choice of moving company. They made moving so much less stressful then it could have been. Great experience. I will definitely be recommending them and using this company in the future.

Yet again, Anchor Moving made our move smooth. I used them October 2013, and we purchased and moved to a new home this summer. The crew leader was completely on top of it. I have moved as a military brat and spouse more times than I count, but at least 18 times. Moving can be stressful, and the older I get, the harder it is. I am grateful for how professional, competent, and curteous everyone was from scheduling the move and through the move. They don't try to rush out before you find out they didn't put something together like I have experienced too many times. They also work fast & hard. I also appreciate that they get along with each other and work well together. I don't need to deal with someone elses stress. Nothing broken or scratched. Well done again.
