They were on time, efficient and professional

This company installed an irrigation system for me ten years ago. The workers always show up on time. They are professional and do good quality work. I have never compared their prices but I think the price is a good one. If you don't call them earlier enough in the year you may have to wait awhile for them to come out.

The work was done quickly and efficiently and was to my satisfaction.

He was very professional, sketching out the entire lawn area and describing where lines needed to go, how water pressure would affect the system, etc. He was extremely nice and personable, spending a good deal of time examining the lawn, plants, and trees. He even helped us with some recommendations for restaurants in the St Louis area. We're certain his lawn service would be top-notch, but our location doesn't make it cost effective for him to send a crew all the way out here just to do regular cutting and trimming

They were fine with the irrigation. Their price was good and competitive with the others. I noticed an area which wasn't getting quite irrigated. They came out that very day to fix it and that was fine.

I have dealt with this company for many years. They have done several sizable jobs for us. I have always had access to the president who is exceptionally helpful and pleasant to deal with. This particular experience became complicated because a contract worker of Allen Outdoor did the work initially. I was very unhappy with the work and with the contractor. However, Steve (the owner-president) was here immediately ... he too was not happy with the work. He had the necessary work taken care of immediately to my satisfaction ... and more. His crew, those who work directly for him are marvelous, thoughtful and go above and beyond their duty. I will continue to have them do work for me.

Have used this company for annual maintenance on system for several years. Service providers are always prompt and knowledgeable. Company offers a variety of prepaid discounted service plans.

I've been with Allen for over 8 years now. Every time they open/close the system they are professional and prompt. I always feel like a get a HUGE value...their tech's educate me on the system, make recommendations without a hard upsell. They work with my schedule. I would highly recommend them.

We had two companies bid on the work. One was the company that we originally had install our irrigation system and the other was Allen. Although Allen's price was higher, we decided that since they were closer to our house that the price differential would be compensated by their ability to work more easily with the company that was installing our retaining wall and planting beds. They were willing to split the difference between their original price and the price of the other company, so we hired them. They were very easy to work with and did indeed accommodate all our needs by working closely with our landscaper. They performed their work in a timely manner and cleaned up nicely after the installation. The owner, Steve Allen even stopped by after the job was complete to meet with me personally to ensure that I was satisfied with the work. All in all it was a very good installation and I would use them again for future work.

Mel arrived promptly to provide a quote for the work. The quote was received in the mail within 3 or 4 days, and was substantially lower than one other we received. Work was scheduled within two weeks of accepting the quote. Crew arrived on-time, along with Mel to start the work. Mel left his phone number with me in case I had any questions as the work progressed. The drains were installed under brick pavers and a flagstone pathway. The crew did an excellent job - it was hard to see where they worked. They payed attention and minimized the impact on plant material in the area. Only "do" I would add would be to wash off the muddy areas afterword. Excellent job and I would happily recommend them for this work in the future,

They were a bit on the high end of the price range and we didn't feel like we got that much better of service for the money.

They were in a bit of a hurry and ended up having to re-do a couple of things.

They did most of the work all through last summer. They did good work, and I liked them. They were very friendly and prompt. They did everything that I wanted them to do. I would rate them highly.

The technician was on-time and did the work quickly. He tested and adjusted the replacement heads to my satisfaction.

Did make charge adjustment and acknowledged billing error.

We were pleased. They did a good job.

Allen does their job professionally and thoroughly. All the paperwork is completed on time, their guys are punctual, courteous and professional. They give me confidence because they know what needs to be done and they do it.

We originally hired the company for an irrigation system and were so pleased with their work that we went onto hiring them for outdoor lighting and a complete redo on our front yard landscaping. Because the company has extremely fast and reliable workers we also hired them for tree removal, leaf removal and we currently use them for our lawn care. They do an amazing job, really taking the extra step to ensure the job is done well. The workers are also extremely sweet and considerate.

We set up an appointment with a designer, Ray, who came to meet with us. He seemed knowledgeable and we were pleased with the meeting with him. He told us to expect a design and bid in about two weeks. A few days later somebody from the company called us to ask a few detailed questions about our water pipes - they were designing the irrigation system. But then we never heard back from them. Three to four weeks after our initial meeting we called Ray to ask him for a status. He said they are busy and that it would be at least another few weeks before he'd get anything to us. We were not impressed that we had to follow up with him, and then when we did he seemed to indicate we were very low priority. We still haven't gotten anything back from him, but we do not intend to use this company at this point regardless.

The technician showed up as promised right on time. I was able to leave and return to work after he was finished. As for the work performed, it was very professional as usual.

THE REPRESENTATIVE MAKING THE BID FOR THE IRRIGATION SYSTEM WAS PLEASANT, KNOWLEDGEABLE, AND ABLE TO ANSWER ALL OF MY QUESTIONS. THE OWNER WHO BID THE LIGHTING ASPECT OF THE JOB WAS EQUALLY AS NICE AND FULLY KNOWLEDGEABLE. THE WORK WAS DONE IN A VERY TIMELY FASHION. NO DAMAGE WAS DONE TO PLANTS OR SHRUBS. CLEAN-UP WAS COMPLETE. THOSE WHO EXECUTED THE INSTALLATION WERE PLEASANT, PROFESSIONAL, ON TIME, AND THOROUGH. NOT ONLY DID THE INSTALLERS PROVIDE EXCELLENT INSTRUCTION ON THE EQUIPMENT INSTALLED, BUT THE OWNER FOLLOWED UP THE NEXT DAY WITH THOROUGH INSTRUCTIONS. FROM START TO FINISH, THE EXPERIENCE WAS EXCELLENT.

SYSTEM HAS BEEN IN FOR OVER A WEEK AND HAS NOT OPERATED PROPERLY YET. WORKERS TRACKED MUD IN THE HOUSE, TORE UP LANDSCAPING CLOTH, LEFT MUD ON WALKS, PORCH AND CARPET, USED OUR TOOLS WITHOUT PERMISSION, AND LEFT THEM ON FLOOR OF BASEMENT. THEY WERE IN SUCH A HURRY, THEY DIDN'T ALLOW MATERIALS TO PROPERLY DRY CAUSING PROBLEMS AND WERE VERY APATHETIC ABOUT IT. ONE SPRINKLER HEAD DIDN'T RETRACT AND THEY TOLD US TO REPAIR IT. SYSTEM COMES ON, DOES NOT GO OFF. THEY HAVE BEEN VERY APATHETIC ABOUT CORRECTING INSTALLATION, WITH EVERYONE BLAMING EVERYONE ELSE ON THE INSTALLATION TEAM.

OVERALL, DISSATISFIED WITH THE WORK. ESPECIALLY POOR IN CONFIRMING DAY/TIME OF WORK AND FAILURES TO COMMUNICATE CHANGES IN SCHEDULING. HAD TO REDIRECT LABORERS ON PIPING; GRASS SEED LAID WITHOUT COVER FAILED TO GROW AS WELL.
