All Star Moving provided an exceptional experience. From scheduling to the work being performed, a painless experience. 100% the easiest move I have ever had. I was worried about the potential for damage since I live on the second floor of the duplex I purchased. I didn't want to have to fix scratches or scuffs. I live in St. Louis City and alike most of the houses around the area, my hallway and stairwells are narrow. I am glad to report there was no damage to the property, I know, I checked. Plus the guys who did the work were really nice and more importantly they weren't sketchy. Great work All Star Moving. I don't plan on moving again for awhile but when I do I am going to have them do all the work.

I wholeheartedly recommend against using All-Star Moving LLC based in Kirkwood, MO. They obviously have a pattern of abusiveness to customers. I encourage you, if you are in a position to recommend a moving company(e.g. Real Estate agent), to pass this one up solely on the actions of the owner. Details: I am always left in disbelief when I personally encounter terrible customer service. Today, I was shocked when I was called by the owner and how he treated me, I told him I will not be spoken to in that way and he said "YOU JUST WERE!". Was it the employees? No, although they did damage my $2000+ stainless steel fridge (dents and scratches and it was perfect prior to the move). I am more concerned with the owner... choosing to be belligerent with me, cussing and berating me. Threatening legal action if a Facebook post recommending against using this company wasn't removed(that was posted by someone else entirely). My son did make a phone call to the company to attempt to have a civil conversation to resolve this issue. They have not returned his call... Welcome to the internet... I fear that this owner does not understand how opinions work... or how sharing those opinions on the internet works... even in the form of a review. The list of companies that learn to regret mishandling a deservedly bad review is long. Looking this company up on BBB and other review sources... a trend emerges. Review after review details the anger and threats they were met with from this individual. Read for yourself.[*** Link removed ***]

Hired three movers; one was an hour late so that caused a time delay. Many boxes were marked fragile. Upon arrival at new home, many of these boxes were stacked so that they were crushed. One of our bird cages was crushed; thankfully bird was not in cage. Two packed fabric lampshades were completely destroyed. They were in boxes wrapped with crumpled paper. No logic or order to how truck was loaded. Hired unloading crew at destination made several negative comments about how the truck was packed and how several items were smashed. Delay resulted in husband (who was driving rental truck) not arriving at new home until 4 am the following morning; he was not able to leave STL till 2:30pm.

Was recommended to this moving company by a number of friends. My family and I have done a number of corporate relocations so we are not new to moving. Our move experience with great until the post move. I left a message on the Saturday with the office about our doorbell being burnt out and being broken by the movers on our newly built home. The movers continually hit the bell with boxes and elbows while bringing in boxes causing it to become stuck. Which caused my husband and I to believe that All Star should fix it as it was brand new on a newly built home. On Monday, Matt, the owner phoned me back and immediately got agitated and like he was looking for a fight. Asked him to calm down and take a deep breath as I did not like how he was speaking to me and he continued to get more abusive over the phone, called me a *****, the world was not my oyster, hung up the phone on me. I phoned back to discuss further and his abusive behavior continued. I never once yelled just disagreed with him about our claim and issue with our doorbell. My husband phoned to discuss with them about what happened and they denied and called me a liar. I had referred this company to a number of friends and our realtor prior to this, but have since retracted my referral. This company lacks customer service and is abusive to it's customers if something goes wrong with your move. Research them on BBB, and Yelp! Beware!!!

Ultimately, All Star gave us a full refund.....which we never asked for. But, according to the owner, I'm a liar and freeloader. So, in their mind, the issue is resolved. And it will be when we get a professional to come in and fix the damage they caused. The owner stated he never wanted to hear from my husband or I again. Not a problem!
Description of Work: We chose this mover for two reasons: 1. They worked on Sunday. 2. They could store our items during the three day lapse between moving out of our current home and closing on our new home. Initially, they were great. They came out and gave me a cost estimate as well as suggestions on packing, etc. The crew that showed up for both the load and then the unload three days later were very good. They worked extremely hard and earned every penny of the tips they received. The trouble started when there was damage to report. The drywall/painting repair issues were address promptly and looked great. The repair man they sent out was fast and courteous. Unfortunately, we had some damage to our stained steps that took over 2 months to get resolved. The damage occurred when two of the movers had difficulty getting a piece of white furniture up the steps to our daughter's bedroom. The mover on the bottom half could not keep the furniture lifted so he repeatedly drug it and let it drop on stair after stair. It was only after the crew leader came in and saw what was happening that they threw a moving blanket down on the last 3 steps to help avoid any further damage. I spoke with All Star after the move, and they indicated they would be sending someone out to take a look as the gentleman that came out to repair the drywall felt it was beyond his level of expertise to repair. After not hearing from the wood repair man for two weeks, I contacted All Star for an update. Although they cannot control when repair contractors are available, the lack of follow-up on their part was disappointing. After several other emails and phone calls, they sent 2 different repair men on 2 separate occasions out to look at the stair damage. The opinion of both of these gentlemen was that the gouges left could not be filled and the scuffs needed to be restained. After 2 months of taking time off work to be available for the repair men to show up as well as just a loss of patience overall, we asked for a refund to cover the cost of repairing the steps ourselves. I then received a call from Louis Heldenbrand that quickly became heated. He stated they could not refund me the money and that they needed an estimate of the repair costs. Great! A repair estimate would have been perfect. So, why didn't either person they sent out provide them with one. Unfortunately, the call became escalated and I told Louis that I did not wish to continue the conversation and that it was probably best to discuss the situation with my attorney. Two minutes later, I received a call from Matt Heldenbrand, the owner. He started getting very agitated and ended up talking over me and screaming in the phone that his crew did not drop the furniture that created the gouges, that I hadn't provided him with good enough photos of the damage (which I explained was due to the lack of proper lighting over the stair well as well as the constraints when using a cell phone to take photos), and that we probably had created most of the damage ourselves since it had been 2 months since we moved in. He then told me that it wasn't his fault that we had "******" steps and a "******" builder that had build us a modular home.....not a custom built one. He said that the damage was our builders fault because they used pine on the steps and no one uses pine, which is not true. He was screaming at me and continued to barrage me with profanity. I asked him to stop speaking to me in this way, but it continued so I ended the conversation. My husband then called Matt to address the way he spoke to me on our earlier phone call. Matt told my husband that I was a liar and a freeloader that was looking for a refund from the very beginning. He then hung up on my husband after stating he was going to give us a refund because he never wanted to hear from either of us again. It is completely irrelevant what our steps are made of. It wouldn't matter if our house was made of cardboard or falling down around us. What does matter is that All Star's employees created the damage, and it was never repaired. This was never about a full refund. It was about fixing the problem they created. This gentleman has serious anger issues. If you check on Yelp and the BBB website, you will see this is a consistent issue that comes up in multiple reviews from anyone that has had problems with this company. Overall, the good reviews people give to All Star are because they had no follow-up or repair issues that had to be addressed. There is a recurring theme, however, for those of us that had any issues. In the responses All Star gives to the negative reviews, it is consistently the customer's fault for any and all issues they experienced with the services they received. Customer service is a part of every business. All Star had great customer service until there was an issue. Then customer service flew out the window and was replaced with lack of follow-up, heated conversations, and profanity laden tirades that no one deserves. Everyone will have a different experience with any company. Many people have had good ones with All Star. We just happened to have a bad one. I would never recommend this company to anyone for fear of what may happen if any damage occurs, as it typically does with a move. In fact, I will let everyone I know about the owner of this company and give the advice that they go another route.

I was very happy with my experience with All Start Moving, LLC. Matt and his team are a local, family business in STL and provided that kind of attention to our move. We were able to load and unload in two days and we had everything we needed right aft her the move ended. We would recommend them to others who have considered a bog-box moves. Our service level was high and it was more affordable.

This was another excellent move on the part of All-Star. The young men were on time, never stopped working, and carefully wrapped up all furniture pieces that needed to be protected before moving them. They finished ahead of time and made the entire experience a less stressful, almost simple one. There was a clearly defined crew leader. I myself employed All-Star for the first time in 2013 (reviewed on April 11, 2013), and I have been strongly recommending them to everyone ever since. I insisted that my son book All-Star, and this time to call earlier. When he and his family first moved into the house he was now leaving, All-Star was not available. Booking a different company, he experienced a nightmarish experience on a number of levels that was anything but simple. All-Star's employees were hardworking, professional, and personable. A final positive was that my son was able to enjoy the Angie's List discount.

They showed up late, but they did call first to let me know. It was a crew of 3 people. For the most part, I thought they worked efficiently. No one was lazy or wasting time. My main issue with the move was with the appliances. Basically, they scratched up my washing machine as they tried to squeeze it through the door, but then they realized they had it the wrong way through the door. I have a refrigerator that I bought new 1 year ago. They needed to take the doors off the refrigerator to get it out of the house. When they moved in into my new house, the electrical cord was crushed and broken, and now I have HUGE dents in ALL the refrigerator doors (even though they were removed). I asked the driver about moving claims. He said I had 48 hours to make the claim. I called the company the next day. Luckily I did call because they said I had 24 hours to make the claim, and the driver was not correct. They were responsive. I sent them pictures of the damage. Since the replacement of the damage was too high for the appliances, they would pay me 60 cents per dry weight of the appliance. Basically, this is what the contract says. They did honor this and replace the broke power cord, but I am still stuck with a new refrigerator with HUGE dents. I do recommend this company if you are moving non-breakable or non-damageable items, BUT if you are moving anything that can break easily or appliances, PLEAE READ THE CONTRACT FIRST. I would assume that they will be damaged since they have no major recourse if something is severely damaged. Consider another company that has better coverage for damaged items.

The movers arrived on time and worked extremely hard to get everything loaded in a timely manner. They held our belongings overnight then arrived on time the following day to unload at our new home. They were very courteous and are extremely good at what they do. I would highly recommend them to anyone needing moving services.

They came over before-hand and estimated the cost and time for the job. It turns out they under-estimated the size of the job and had to order an extra truck, but they did not raise the price. The whole crew (6 of them, I believe) was courteous and efficient. The head of the group on packing day was very professional and well-organized and patient, and the same goes for the head of the crew (a different guy) on the unloading day. We'd strongly recommend All-Star to anyone considering moving homes.

The move itself was great. They pushed for a 2nd truck which we didn't need but not a huge issue. Issue I STILL have after 2 months is their response dealing with a scratch in the floor. Honestly, they did so good i didnt have a major problem with the scratch but they did the right thing by trying to make it right. The problem came up with dealing with Laura (I'm pretty sure that's her name). I was told I would be contacted by flooring guy and never happened. Then I was told the flooring guy would contact my landlord but didn't happen the way I was told . And when I tried to coordinate she yelled at me and said it's not my problem and they would work directly with my landlord, but that didn't happen. Now I've left 3 messages over the last week and conveniently they aren't picking up their calls. It would have been an A across the board if they just gave me $100 credit or something from the beginning but now I'm down $200 from my landlord and it's taken a ton of my time.

I want to move again JUST so I can rehire this company! Matt sent out a 5 man crew with two trucks to move us from one house to another. The guys were fast, careful and professional. Not one thing got damaged or broken, even in the boxes we packed ourselves! They finished an hour before their estimated time which made our bill come in lower. Absolutely fantastic service and I have already recommended them to a friend that will be moving soon.
