Kevin Coyle, the owner, ghosted me! He never showed up, never called, even though I was in contact with Josh who told me I’d be hearing from Kevin. On Friday, 7/29 Josh said Kevin was finishing a job and would call when on his way. Nothing. On the morning of 7/30, I called/left another message. Nothing. To date, I’ve received no response.

They serviced my washer and dryer. We had a real problem and they said it wouldn't be worth trying to fix so he gave us name of a couple of places we could get another unit at a good rate. They got here when they said they would and they did everything they said they would do. He was honest about not trying to stick us with a repair bill that he said would not last very long.

Service by experienced technician was fast and friendly.

They couldn't fix it, but referred me to slyman brothers. Came back again and fixed my dryer. On time and very nice.

Minor part needed and Jim (repairman) fortunately had the part and fixed it very quickly. Jim very friendly and professional.

Very professional, helpful, punctual. I will use them again!

These guys have worked on a few items in our home (fridge & dryer). They are very good at what they do. I also called our serviceman before purchasing new appliances, and he took the time to advise & explain pros & cons of various brands & new tech on these units. Recommended!!!!

Perfect. Dan knew immediately what was wrong once I described the make/model, etc. over the phone. He auto ordered the part;recd. part and came out in a timely fashion to install. Based on my use since his repair date, appears to be working perfectly. He assured if any issues to call back. He, while a young man, was professional, personable, thorough, knowledgeable, along with no dawdling-no wasting of time. It was a welcome change from the warranty personnel that covered this washing machine upon purchase and now out of warranty. I will certainly call this company for any and all repairs needed on any of my appliances they service. As well, I'm passing the word on to others.

AVOID THIS BUSINESS!!! I called them for help with a Maytag washer that was about 1 1/2 years old. The door locking mechanism was acting up. The tech was originally here about two weeks ago and basically took apart the washer but could not find anything wrong with it. So he put it back to together and it seemed to be working. I was charged a $90 service fee and told to contact them if it started acting up again and they would return and I would not have to pay another service fee. Flash forward about two weeks and the washer is acting up again with the same issue - door locking, not unlocking, and won't go through the wash cycle. I contact Affton Mehlville Appliance Service and explained what is going on. I was told that I needed to tell them who the tech was, otherwise they could not help me. The woman on the phone got very ugly with me when I explained I had no idea who the tech was and asked if she could look up my name. She continued on the attack with many excuses as to why she could not help me. I found the receipt from the service call and called back to provide the tech's name. No one answered so I left a voice message. I made repeated calls back with my call going to voice mail each time and never received a call back. In summary, they took my $90 and ran with it without solving the problem or standing by their work. STAY AWAY FROM THIS BUSINESS IF YOU WANT GOOD SERVICE AND YOUR PROBLEM SOLVED!

They said that they replaced the part, but it was either the wrong part or installed incorrectly. The very first time that I had tried to use the washing machine, water started leaking all over the floor. The washing machine did fill to the correct level, but water would leak onto the floor during every wash. I called them as soon as I determined there was a problem with the repair. The technician old me that he would be out on Sunday. He called that day and said that he would be out during the day sometime. Called later that evening around 9 pm and said that he wasn't able to get out and tried to reschedule. He was supposed to call me on Monday on 11/23, but I still have not heard from him up to the date of this review 11/24.

They were so kind and helpful actually interested in saving me money! I'm so appreciative of their help! Definitely will recommend!!

Dan arrived right on time and identified a broken lead on the upper oven element. He replaced the lead and the oven worked perfectly. He also took the time to replace the oven door cover as it had come loose on the bottom. He was a really polite young man and was very efficient with his knowledge and neatness with his equipment. So, so much better than Sears repair any day! I will use them again for certain!

They were wonderful. They have repaired appliances 4 times in the past 2 years. Dan is great and gives the most economical and efficient solution. The last time they gaveus a loner refridgorator until ours was fixed. They give A+ customer service.

Simply put, Great. The initial contact was great, man on the phone (sorry, I do not remember name) seemed knowledgeable and very professional, got me scheduled in a timely manner (contact was late on a friday afternoon) for the following monday. Technician called on the way- was in and diagnosed problem quickly- and provided above service, including his cell phone if I have trouble or questions, and proposed a plan to fix the refrigerator as the freon dissipates again- quoted a ballpark. I feel very confident that these folks can help me!!

Great experience. Professional, courteous and effective. During the repair process, Jim discovered that one of the springs was missing in our dishwasher. He actually FOUND IT IN OUR BASEMENT! Saved us from having to buy a new spring and wait for the part to come in. Jim got the repair done in about an hour, maybe less. Would recommend them to anyone.

He did good work. He was able to identify the problem and correct it with no problem.

Dan was well mannered and professional. We had a problem with the water dispenser and ice maker. Turned out to be very minor fixes for both. Charged only the $69 for service call. Service call fee good for a year. I would recommend them to anyone!

Jeremy showed up exactly on time. He discovered the malfunction immediately. The fix took quite a while, but given that, the cost was much lower than I was expecting. Jeremy was professional, knowledgeable, courteous, explained everything to me, and completely cleaned up the area before he left. I will definitely call this company again.

Jim from Affton Mehlville Appliance Service came out to fix my washing machine. Not only was the repair work done professionally and efficiently but also inexpensively. He also looked at my dishwasher and gave me some helpful tips all at no extra charge. I will definitely be calling them again if I have any repair work needed.

I called Affton-Mehlville Appliance Service after reading many positive reviews on Angie's List. Our oven was not heating and one of the knobs was loose/broken and wouldn't turn. A very polite and professional woman answered and promptly took down all of my information and scheduled a service call for the next day. I was quoted an initial fee of $69 for the service call/to diagnose the problem and was given a two hour time window (10-noon) for the service call. The technician, Jim (he is also one of the owners), arrived promptly within the scheduled time on Thursday. He was very professional and friendly. He diagnosed the problem with our stove quickly and quoted us a total price for the parts and labor. The oven needed a new control-clock electronic panel. The loose knob ended up being an easy fix, just needing some screws tightened, which Jim did free of charge. He did this just to be nice, before he even knew if we were going to use him to actually do the other repairs. The amount he quoted was very reasonable and we agreed to have the work done. Jim told us he would have to order the part and gave us a rough estimate time frame for that process (saying that it would take from 1-3 days). He called back on Saturday to let me know that the part had arrived and asked me to let him know when a good time would be to replace it. I called him back on Sunday and we agreed on Monday morning between noon and 2:00 p.m. Jim called around 1:00 p.m. to say that he was running a little behind, in the middle of another job that was taking longer than expected, and asked if it would be okay if he was 30 minutes late. I said that was fine and thanked him for letting me know, rather than just showing up late and/or leaving me to wonder where he was. He arrived exactly when he said he would and quickly replaced the part and checked the oven to make sure it was in working order. The oven now works wonderfully and we couldn't be happier. The part we needed ended up costing $40 less than originally quoted. Jim could easily have not told us this, but instead was honest and charged us $40 less for the entire job. This is the first time I have ever had work done and it ended up being cheaper than I expected. That kind of honesty from a repair business is priceless and really shows the integrity Jim has. Overall, I would say that Affton-Mehlville Appliance Service did an amazing job. They were friendly, clean, knowledgeable, prompt, and reasonably priced. I was not asked to pay for anything until the job was complete. My phone calls were returned promptly and we were made to feel as though our business was appreciated. We are new to Angie's List and this is the first business we have used and already the membership has paid for itself. This was a great experience, with an excellent business, and we would not hesitate to use Affton-Mehlville Appliance Service again and would highly recommend them to others. Affton-Mehlville Appliance Service has made a lifelong customer out of us.

These folks were great! I initially left a message that was returned within an hour or so. One of the repairmen called me back after he was done working for the day and asked what was happening with the appliances. He knew immediately what the problem was and said to call the office the next day with the model numbers and he'd order the parts and come on Saturday. I said I didn't want to pay extra for weekend work but he said it was the same price, he just didn't want me to have to wait any longer and that's how long it would take to get the parts in. When he arrived he had a younger man with him he was training. They were right on time, very polite and friendly and went right to work. The door handle was repaired quickly, the refrigerator took a little longer but both were done in a little over an hour. When I mentioned I didn't think the refrigerator doors were aligned right they immediate took a minute to adjust those too. Everything is working great now, including having the doors shut properly. For repairs to two appliances with about $150 in parts I thought their rates were very reasonable for the professional caliber of work provided. Would definitely have them return for other appliance repairs and/or recommend them for any appliance work.
