AFFTON HEATING & AIR CONDITIONING

Air conditioning failed in July, and it was very hot, so we needed it back quickly. They sent someone out quickly (same day), and it was a serious enough problem on an old system that we opted for a new AC, and since we had been considering a new furnace "one of these days", decided to replace it all. While this was more than we really wanted to spend at that time, it needed to be done, and made sense to do it all then. The nice thing was, we called them early one day, they came later that day, and had the furnace and AC both replaced and back in business by the end of the second day! The installation was done very professionally, and they did not leave any mess. Both AC and furnace have been working well, and they even coordinated with our local electric company for us to get a $300 rebate we were not even expecting. A pleasure to do business with!

Very well. They informed me of the repair needed, which was less much less than I expected. They cleaned up after themselves and rolled the hose back up. Both men were very professional and respectful.

The provider was responsive upon the initial contact, and two men arrived on time for the appointment and were friendly. This was the second company from which I'd had an estimate, and they walked around my house to view my current system. They did not do any measurements that I could tell other than eyeballing my current system. They answered my questions reasonably, but also recommended a smaller unit than I current had. They offered an additional benefit of installing a new thermostat with Wi-Fi, which would have been a great bonus. However, they did not take long with the estimate and were more expensive than the first company from whom I'd had an estimate, so I ended up going with the other company.

Rich came out to evaluate our AC needs. We went through the basement to determine the best placement of the equipment and piping. It was a good plan and almost everything went about as expected: However, the space in the electrical panel was insufficient; tile kitchen floor was exceptionally hard to get through; fishing wire was a challenge; etc. We are used to cost over runs in this old place, so the final bill seemed quite reasonable. (Two years ago, Rich and his team also installed the attic unit which cools the second floor. They did an equally good job at a price remarkably below the other bids we got.) The Crew always arrived on time in the early morning. Rich was in and out for the 2 1/2 days it took to get the job done. Everyone was quite professional and thoughtful. Truly good folks. At last, no window units.

Rich showed up when he said he would, did the work he said he would do, and charged me what was quoted. I have used Affton Heating and AC on many of my investment properties as well as my own residence and have never been disappointed.

My furnace broke down on the coldest days of the season - so far. Naturally, a lot of people were really using their furnaces for the first time and were finding out their furnace had some problems, so the heating and cooling services were very busy. I did not call for service on Sunday because I didn't want to pay for emergency service, so I waited until Monday to call. I was not thrilled with the first service I called, so I tried another. That was Affton Heating and Cooling, and even though they had a full schedule on Monday, she said she would see if they could work me in early on Tuesday. Later on Monday. she called me back and said they would not be able to get to me until 4-6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. I said that was fine. Then I was pleasantly surprised when she called me Tuesday, about 1:00 and said that they finished a job early and she said they could be at my place within a half hour if I could be there. I told her that would be great. They showed up at my door promptly as promised. I explained what I could about the furnace's problem and suggested that it may be one of two things: (1) I had been doing some remodeling in the house, which had created a lot of dust, and that may have gotten into the furnace and triggered one of the many shut-off safety switches, or (2) I suspected there might be a short in the circuit. Being a woman, I am used to having my diagnosis dismissed by repairmen in general, but they immediately checked for a wiring problem, which they found, fixed, and the furnace started immediately. I'm usually annoyed when I hear the furnace kicking in, because it means my gas meter is running up my tab, but I've not heard such a beautiful sound in a long time. I was so grateful to the very concerned lady scheduling service for making the extra effort to get heat in my house, that I called back immediately after they left and thanked her for fitting me into their busy schedule.

They arrived when they said they would and started working. Both units are older but they cleaned and did what was needed. I was slightly expecting to be pressured about a new unit but was not at all. I am planning using them in the future!

The furnace quit working on Tuesday evening, I called at 8pm and left a message. My call was returned with 15 minutes. Rich said he would be out in the morning and arrived at 8 am. The work was done within an hour and they were very professional. I would definitely recommend to others and will be using again.

The contractor gave a time of between 11 am and 1 pm but did not show up until 1:20pm. When they did show up they were very appologetic and gave a $25 discount for being late. There were two installers and so it took only a little over an hour for the complete job. They were very nice, talked intelligent about the product/installation, and did not leave a mess. I would definately use Affton Heating and A/C again.

He is always full of knowledge and gets the job done. He cares about his work.
