It went just fine. I got 4 or 5 bids on this work from various companies. Ken seemed to be the best option for the job based on his expertise, and his materials supplier gave him a glowing recommendation. He was very open about work he had done both recently and in the past. He clearly knew what he was doing based on the options he presented. He was very professional and handled everything from acquiring permits to cleaning up meticulously every day. We had one issue with stone color, and he immediately came back out and fixed it. The end result of the wall is functional and looks really good. The patio is great, and they took our pattern we wanted and made it happen, even though they had never used that one before. I paid slightly more for the patio than what I could have paid, but I trusted Ken's work. It isn't exactly the shape I had wanted, but it looks very nice. And his warranty was better than almost everyone else's. His patience also gets an "A" rating.

The owner came out to do the estimate. He was prompt with the response. He had good drawings. He had several choices of block. He was very clear about the cost on different block and design. His crew were polite, neat and did the job on the days they said they would and got finished on time. They are about everything you would want from a contractor.
