ABF U-Pack Moving Inc

After a terrible experience with another "pod"-like service a few years ago, we were hesitant to use a similar company--but we were extremely pleased that we chose U-Pack this time! Their website allowed us to calculate whether pod-like containers or a trailer (by the linear foot--we didn't have to fill the whole thing!) would be the most effective option; we chose the truck/trailer based on cost and convenience. They delivered as promised, working with our storage facility to set up the time and location. The trailer was clean and easy to load (although the ramp is heavy). It could be "walled off" (so we were charged just for the amount of space used) and locked once everything was loaded. Communication was great throughout--emails, telephonic interaction with the service provider representatives, and calls from the drivers. Delivery to our new home was available even earlier than we imagined (a huge shock after the problems we had with delivery by the other company, a few years ago) and pickup of the empty trailer was prompt. Pricing was more reasonable than any other option we could have chosen (including driving our own rental truck--and just a fraction of a full-service mover). This was an excellent experience! ABF moved everything we owned from our house in greater St. Louis to our new home in southern Colorado. I was hesitant at first to use this service; I have a lot of precious and/or fragile items, and I'm a nervous Nellie about entrusting important things to anyone I don't know. But since in the past I hadn't had particularly good experiences with nationally-known movers, I let my husband talk me into trying ABF. I am so glad I did! Basically you pack your belongings (books, clothes, kitchen items, etc.) yourself. Then ABF parks its trailer (not the cab) in your driveway for a few days--so it is urgent that your driveway be long enough to accommodate it. Then you hire a local mover to pack up the big stuff (like large furniture) and to put everything into the ABF trailer. Then ABF drives to your new location; and again, a local mover gets everything out of the trailer and puts it into your new house. We ALWAYS knew EXACTLY where our belongings were; ABF was amazingly good about answering our questions and keeping us posted. Only one item got broken (the saucer for a clay flower pot, worth about a dollar--and I admit that I had packed it myself). What is more, ABF cost a bit less than the nationally-known movers wanted to charge. All in all, moving with ABF was a great experience. I would happily use ABF in a future move, and have no problem recommending them to others.

Customer Service for U-pack was A+. All my phone calls and questions were answered promptly. We originally were going to use the relocubes but found out that we were not allowed to have these on the street in my area. They changed my reservation to a trailer move and were able to accomodate the last minute change. I feel they were very helpful.

They were very punctual. They came on the earlier side of their time-spot that they gave me. I had the truck permit. They got my merchandise to Washington DC in two days.

They were on time, and everything went as they said it would. There were no breakages, and I had no problems. It was a very easy move. The only person that I interacted with was friendly and diligent. I did not shop around, so I don't know how their price would compare with others. I have no remarks against them. I would use them again in the future if necessary.
