They were just excellent! Very polite and prompt and did a very good job! They are the kind of repair people you hope you get but usually never do! They were also very reasonable and clean, there was no big mess.
Description of Work: We had a damaged window. We purchased a new window and they took the old one out and installed this new one.

The installers were very fast and friendly. They cleaned up after themselves as they went from room to room. They even had a cleaner come to the house during installation, and she cleaned every single window pane and removed all the stickers and debris. That was unexpected and I very much appreciated not having to do it! All of the interior work was completed within about 4 hours and the exterior work would have been completed in 1 day, but they ran out of material so came back the next day. Everything looked great! We had a couple of minor fixes that need to be done, and Brian has been very responsive to our follow up questions. Highly recommend!
Description of Work: We decided to replace original 30 year old windows in our home due to drafts, lack of screens, and broken sashes. Brian came to our home and gave us an estimate of cost of the project. He broke it down into two separate bids because we weren't sure we wanted to replace 3 casement windows that were in good shape so he gave us bids with and without replacing them. He gave us literature on the Certainteed brand that he uses and showed us a sample. Unlike other companies we had out, his bid included wrapping the outside of the windows in aluminum others charged separately for that. The overall price was very competitive with 2 others we had out within $150 of each other. Brian was very helpful and professional. We decided to have 11 double-hung and 6 sliders replaced. Russ came out to measure shortly after we signed the contract and the windows came in and were installed two weeks sooner than we expected (we ordered during the slowest time of the year February).

The remodeling went very well once Bryan, Mark and Mark Jr. were able to schedule us for the work. I had signed the contract several months earlier but New Transitions got involved with a huge project and I had to wait longer than anticipated. They were able to do one bathroom before Christmas and finished the other after New Years Day. Actually, the remodeling went pretty fast after they arrived. Mark and his son and Bryan work fast and take only a few minutes for lunch. They clean everything up before they leave and are gone usually by mid afternoon each day. I was comfortable leaving the house while they worked.
Description of Work: Gutted and replaced hall and master bathrooms. They replaced everything but the toilet stools and the glass shower door in the hall bathroom. We decided to use a shower curtain instead on that bath.

Brian was amazing. His subs who did the Cambria work were amazing, too. The kitchen looks absolutely beautiful, and still suits our mid-century modern home perfectly. As previously mentioned, our cabs were not level and we had no intention of replacing them. Two previous contractors had attempted to level the counter surface with shims and such, without much luck. One flat-out refused to work on our kitchen, and said it was impossible to do the job without installing all-new cabinets! We were very impressed with the base counter that Brian built, which is PERFECTLY level. We feel confident that our gorgeous Cambria quartz countertops and backsplashes will last a good long time, thanks to his excellent work. He was on time, professional, meticulous and pleasant, EVERY time. And we saved enough money by reusing our steel cabinets to reno our lower-level bedroom & bath suite. We'll be calling Brian and New Transitions for help with that. I highly recommend them!
Description of Work: Brian renovated our ugly, old 1950's kitchen, almost single-handedly. First, he removed the 50-year-old counter, original mud-set backsplash tile, sink, faucet and cooktop. We kept our old steel cabinets, which are actually in good shape, even though they were neither level nor plumb. Because of that, Brian had to build a perfectly leveled, custom wooden countertop on our old cabs throughout the entire kitchen. He then installed a new Cambria solid-surface quartz countertop on that. He also put in new wallboard where the old tile had been, plus insulation in an exterior-facing kitchen wall. When that was done, he put in full-height Cambria backsplashes (including custom-fitted 70" windowsill, all matching the new counter material), SS double-bowl sink, pull-out faucet and cooktop. To finish things, he installed custom woodwork where odd gaps had been left. He used one sub for the Cambria templating, fabrication and installation, and set up a temp sink for us during the process.

Bryan came out promptly to give an estimate and was clear and precise when explaining my options for a partial bathroom remodel. Mark and Eric were very pleasant, efficient, neat, and professional when working as was Bryan, who came by each day to lend a hand and to oversee the project. After the work was finished, I noticed the shower drain was leaking. Bryan came out the next morning and discovered that the leak was due to a slight curve in one of the gaskets, which was easily replaced thanks to a convenient access panel.
Description of Work: New Transitions did a partial remodel of a second floor bathroom, which entailed removing an old fiberglass tub/shower unit, soffit above, plumbing fixture, prehung door, jamb, trim, wall framing and drywall to open up room area, and removal of old vanity top. New drywall and matching clear pine base trim were installed where necessary. An Onyx Collection shower base with matching walls, corner seat, etc., as well as Moen shower head and frameless bipass sliding shower door unit were installed. A vanity top with two undermount Kohler white sinks topped existing cabinets. An exhaust fan/light replaced old light fixture and one canned light was added over shower area.

I e-mailed Brian Ousley, the owner, about the project and he came within a week to give me a bid. We discussed the windows he uses most often, Certain Teed, and he showed me examples. Brian gave information and answered all of my questions, but was not high-pressure at all. His bid was MUCH lower than another company, but he is also not the cheapest because the windows are good quality. Once I decided on NT, he sent someone out to measure. They put in the order and my windows were installed soon after they were in. The workers were courteous and cleaned up well. Everything looks FANTASTIC! I'm very happy. Brian is knowledgeable and professional. I will definitely have him come back for the rest of the windows when I'm ready.
Description of Work: New Transitions replaced 7 windows in my home. I have an older home (1929) and wanted some of the original windows, which were leaking, squirrel damaged, and without screens, to be replaced. I could not afford to do the whole house at once and New Transitions understood that.

Our experience was great throughout. The windows were not cheap, but they are a high quality product. New Transitions helped us figure out what to do with the kitchen window and we love the new double-hung there. The solution makes the room feel much brighter and allows us a much better view. They also helped us problem-solve some water issues in the basement and recommended products as well as discussing continued maintenance to keep the leaks from reappearing. It was a good experience from start to finish. The windows took a little long to come in, but still just within their promised time frame and they were quick to call and schedule installation once they did arrive. Installation was really high quality and they took the time to walk us through everything when they were done.
Description of Work: New Transitions installed a double-hung window in our kitchen and four top hinged windows in the basement. They also removed a center mull and installed a new sill in the kitchen. (The kitchen previously had double casement windows.)

We couldn't be more pleased! From the estimate and planning with Bryan to the actual renovation with Mark and Mark, the whole process was quick, smooth and very professional! Bryan spends a lot of time with the customer helping to choose the best materials and colors, even bringing true sized samples, explaining how the work will be done, etc. Mark and Mark are wonderful to work with, very pleasant and patient and professional. They stay with the job until completed to the customer's satisfaction. We will be using New Transitions again for another bathroom project soon.

See above-They left no mess and completed all in just part of one day. They are the best- praise God for Angie's list telling me about this firm.
Description of Work: They installed all new windows in our new house. We have granite countertops and I hesitated at first to have them put a cheaper type windowsill in our hall bath. It looks so great I wonder if we should have ordered more instead of the granite. Everything about this firm is top notch. Our neighbors came over (several) and admired the classy windows. I had interviewed Anderson first and the price would have been over 2X as much. I can't imagine better windows - they work very well and look elegant. We changed several things in our order and they were able to accommodate us always with a smile and with the highest level of professionalism.

From the minute I first talked to Bryan about the project through prompt delivery of the requested lien waver, they could not have been more pleasant. The work was well staged, the installation beautiful and the attention to detail truly exceptional. I hesitate to put yet another glowing review in Angie's List for fear these guys won't be available to do the other projects I've asked them to quote. In today's world, Bryan and the Mark's are a spectacular exception. Not only tremendous attention to detail and craftsmanship, but they are simply lovely people with whom to work. They didn't consider the job finished until I was happy with absolutely everything (and I'm told I'm a perfectionist). The "punch list" was completed without a question (in fact, Mark said he appreciated the reminders). They've proved to me there are still companies that care to do neat, high quality, complete work.
Description of Work: Bryan estimated and project staged and Mark and his son, Mark, executed the majority of the work to remodel my main floor bathroom -- including the removal of 65-year old tile set in 1-1/2" of cement to get back to the studs for a fresh start on the complete redesign. The job included working with me to help source the various materials I wanted (tiles found locally, plumbing fixtures sourced from Net at price savings, paperless drywall, custom furniture pieces, glass shower surround, etc.). Highly doubtful most contractors would have been as patient as Bryan as we worked through the smallest of details in my design. It was a wait to get onto their schedule (six months), but they started when they committed and would have finished on time if the shower glass company had engineered the glass as required. Each day, they took great care to protect my hardwood floors in the area outside the bath, and when I returned home, the job and walk-through areas were cleaned up. All done right.

Project was a pleasure from the start. Bryan kept me informed of the actual start date (another job took longer than expected), Mark and Mark arrived on time and friendly greetings were exchanged even with our cat. Each day Mark and Mark carefully placed a tarp on the stairs to protect the carpet. Each time there was any sanding to be done they carefully used a large vacuum and plastic tape to restrict any dust. Senior Mark recognized and fixed a problem with the main toilet stack, also recognized and fixed a slight crack in the toilet bowl. Each day their equipment was neatly either stacked or carried away with them. No smoking, no "breaks" (other than lunch), no cussing, no delays and frequent discussions of "how did you want this or that". We appreciate the professionalism, the courtesy and the workmanship of the team. Bryan stopped by to check up on things and was a good supervisor as well (got out of the way when he needed to). Very pleased.
Description of Work: Remove existing and usable fixtures in 2nd story bathroom, remove old drywall and tile, replace with new concrete board, drywall and tile with either new fixtures or recycling the old. Added exhaust fan through the roof.

Fantastic. We're so happy with the results. We have a 100 year old house that was full of little problems and Mark was able to overcome every obstacle! Even decades of black dust that was hidden behind the old drop ceiling we had. They cleaned up every day before leaving our house and left temporary wooden countertops for us to use while we waited for the countertops to be cut & delivered. Mark has a supernatural attention to detail and is very experienced. During the installation he made some minor changes to the design we had settled on because he was really thinking about what would work best for us and in the space we had. Bob Vila couldn't have done better! Brian and Mark really know how to treat their customers. I will definitely be calling them in the future for any other remodeling we might do.
Description of Work: Full kitchen rehab. Room is about 12 ft x 12 ft. Ripped out walls & ceiling & replaced drywall. Installed new ceiling with canned lighting. Lots of new electrical and plumbing. Installed new cabinets, quartz countertops, sink, fridge, dish washer, stove & microwave. Under cabinet lighting & ceiling fan. Pretty much everything but the floor and we're asking them to come back to do that!

Fantastic. They were on time, did what they said they were going to do, as well as some extras along the way. Bryan was good at keeping me apprised of what I was spending on the extras so things didn't get out of hand. Mark Sr. and Mark Jr. were at my house nearly every day for almost six weeks and they did not get on my nerves once. They were pleasant and fun to have around. Mark Sr. Used several problem-solving techniques to deal with issues that are bound to arise in an old house (50s ranch). Nothing throws them off. Other contractors I had dealt with always acted like my house had so many problems, so I was reluctant to do anything major. Bryan and Mark seemed to view it as more of a fun challenge. From the first time Bryan appeared, I knew there was something different about this group. There's just the three of them, no subs, and they do your job to its conclusion before they move on to their next one. Attitude is everything, and these guys have the right one.
Description of Work: Pretty well gutted my kitchen and two bathrooms and started fresh -- new cabinets, toilets, walls, -- everything but the floor, appliances, and paint.

The New Transitions crew did an excellent job installing our new windows and patio door. They were very efficient in getting the job done in only 6 hours with minimal disruption to the activities of the household. We were also impressed that they worked straight through with hardly a break and no lunch. They did excellent detail work and left the work site just as clean as they found it. The crew was personable and friendly. Though we did not have the optional work of switching the window and door done, Bryan had no trouble estimating or tackling the project. New Transitions was not the best on price but Bryan will readily admit he is not the cheapest service out there but has to charge enough to pay his crews a decent wage and purchase a high quality product. It appears that dedication to quality has paid off.

Bryan, Mark, and Mark Jr., were great to work with. Bryan gave us the estimate and managed the scheduling of the job, while Mark and Mark Jr. were on site everyday. They delivered the work on-time, as promised. They were also extremely flexible, working with the cabinets, appliances, and lighting we purchased elsewhere. We are extremely pleased with the end result and would not hesitate to use them again for another remodel.
Description of Work: Completed a kitchen renovation including: demolition and removal of existing appliances, cabinets, counter tops, and wood paneling; installing IKEA cabinetry; supplying and installing new dry wall; supplying and installing recessed lighting in kitchen; installing pendant lighting in kitchen; installing new appliances; supplying and installing glass tile back splash; supplying and installing under and in-cabinet lighting; supplying and installing under-cabinet electric outlets; running new water line to kitchen for refrigerator; supplying and installing new window; and re-locating gas and electrical lines for oven and cook top. We found New Transitions and Brian Ousley through Angie's List. Brian returned telephone calls quickly, was on-time for all appointments and when a family emergency required him to cancel an appointment called us as soon as he became aware of the problem. The company's window products were in the "sweet spot" between the super premium windows that I decided were too expensive and unnecessary for the St. Louis climate and the very inexpensive low-end contractors that created concerns about installation. We were very pleased with the installation process. The installers showed up on time, finished the job when they said they would and cleaned up after themselves. The installation was very professional. We had a couple of problems with the new windows (cracked glass), and New Transitions fixed the problems quickly and with no questions asked. We would highly recommend New Transitions.
