I called newtransitions for an estimate, along with 2 other companies. The owner was very responsive, called back right away and set up an appointment for an estimate. I had some concerns about the existing replacement windows in the house and wanted to make sure the problems with those windows (not locking correctly) would not happen with the new installation. Bryan took a look at the existing windows and confirmed the installation had been done incorrectly and ensured this would not happen with the windows he would have installed. He explained my windows options without any hard selling. After getting 3 estimates, I choose newtransitions whose estimate was in the middle price range of the three options. The windows came in within the time frame that was described and an appointment was scheduled to install them. The contractors arrived promptly just before a big storm was predicted. They assured me they would be done by the end of the day, before the storm. They did run a little over the time they estimated but completed the work on the day it was scheduled. The windows did well in the storm and look great.
Description of Work: They installed 6 replacement windows in 4 different rooms.

New Transitions was great to work with. Bryan (owner) came out and gave us a short, but thorough, no pressure sales presentation. He measured the windows and sent us a bid. Once we signed the contract, Russ came out and did a formal measurement of the windows. They took about 3-4 weeks for the windows we wanted to come in. Once the windows came in, they scheduled a date for installation right away. They needed two full days of access to both inside and outside of the house. The installers (Bob and John) were great! They were polite and professional and very neat. Once they finished a window, they would shop vac any dust and clean up any debris. The windows look great! I would definately use New Transitions again.
Description of Work: We replaced all of the windows (22) on our home because they were leaking, drafty and building up moisture on the inside.

Bryan was on time for the estimate, was courteous and listened to my ideas and concerns. He gave great suggestions on a layout for our new kitchen -- but most importantly he didn't waste my time telling me about a lot of ideas/products that clearly would not be within our budget/scope. And the estimate he provided proved that he clearly heard what we were trying to accomplish within our budget. While we did not move forward with a kitchen remodel with New Transitions, I would highly recommend them to any of my friends.

Superb! I can't say enough about the quality, professionalism and value delivered by this company. Crew was on site for two days doing the install. They were very efficient, courteous, and did an outstanding job. They cleaned up the job site, and when they left, there was no sign of any debris or trash. The job foreman made sure we were happy with the work before they left. The windows are of high quality, and we noticed a huge difference in our home immediately after installation. Bryan and his crew are top notch professionals, and they go out of their way to ensure your satisfaction I would most definitely use them again for future jobs.

They do such a good job. They put ceramic tiles on the bathroom floor. They were on time and they were efficient. I don't have anything to compare the price to but their price is good. They are excellent. I like everything about them and that is why I went back to them.

This is a difficult review to write because New Transitions is a highly rated contractor on this list and Bryan seemed like a very nice fellow. He was punctual and courteous and was the only bidder who arrived with a lead testing kit to confirm that the paint of our window frames contained lead. He was very thorough in his explanationn of the procedures his company would use in ameliorating the lead paint and really seemed know his field. He made a few general comments about his competitors, disparaging in nature, that seemed unnecessary. However, the biggest reason we did not hire him were his method of computing his price, as well as the final price he gave us. Bryan made much of the 35% discount he offers Angie's list members, which we greatly appreciated. However, the price he quoted us initially was double the final price of his nearest competitor ($12,000), so that when the 35% discount was applied, his final price of $7,800 was close to that of our third bidder's estimate of $7,875, but still 20% higher than the bid of $6,270 we ultimately selected. This made us question whether his 35% discount to Angie's List members is genuine. We hope it is. And while we will not likely consider him when we replace the other 15 windows, we certainly would give him an opportunity to bid on other remodelling projects in the future--and we have many, many of those!
Description of Work: We asked Bryan to come bid on replacing 15 of our 30 windows in our 1918 home. We ended up using another contractor based on our overall experience as well as his price, and the fact that the windows he demonstrated seemed of a slightly lesser quality than the ones we ended up purchasing..

Mike Fannin arrived right on time. He worked quietly and efficiently and cleaned up after each step of the installation process. He even took time on his lunch break to purchase additional items needed to complete the wiring changes. When I called the next morning to say that my son had found a small crack in the interior of one of the cabinets, Bryan Ousley informed me that a replacement cabinet had been ordered and would be swithed in as soon as it arrived. The entire job was completed in one day! I look forward to employing New Creations on the more extensive work slated for my own kitchen.

Brian came out to see our windows, discuss the job, and promptly followed up with a bid. After we accepted the bid, a staff member came out to measure, arriving on time and working efficiently. The windows arrived when expected and were installed on time, with everything cleaned up afterward. Great windows with great service!

At first I thought that the price was a little high for laminate counter tops, but I discovered that this is not your grandma's laminate. I selected top-of-the-line Wilsonart HD (Crystalline Onyx). It has a slight texture and looks a lot like stone. Mark Sr. & Mark Jr. did a great job with the installation. There was a slight problem with one of the connecting pipes under the sink (it was so corroded that it crumbled), but Mark Sr.fixed the problem at no extra charge. The installers hauled away the old counters, sink, disposal etc. and cleaned up after they finished. It took about 3 hours, but Mark said it would have been less if it were not for the problem with the pipes. I love the way the counters look.
Description of Work: I was so impressed with NewTransitionsLLC and Bryan Ousley when they installed all new windows in my rental house that I asked them to also install new laminate countertops in the kitchen. From start to finish it took about three weeks. Bryan came out and took the measurements. I also had a new stainless steel sink, faucets, and a new garbage disposal installed at the same time.

I am not sure of the exact date but it was two days after the recent sleet, ice and snow storm. New transitions kept their appointment to remove and install new basement windows. The inside installation was done very quickly and professionally. We have used this company twice in the past. Our complete satisfaction reflects their work, follow up and above all the quality of their windows. It is unbelieveably what a difference they make. Their product is superior to any others. Bryan Oursley is an ehtical businessman.

Everything went fairly smoothly. The window installation began on Monday, 24 January, 2011. The reason it took some 9 weeks for the installation appears to be that NewTransitions was very busy due to the energy tax credit expiring at the end of 2010, the holidays, and of course, the weather. I was not in a hurry, so this was not a problem. Ron and crew did a great job with the installation. A small problem was encountered in that the window openings were unusally deep due to the fact that the previous owner had seperate built in aluminum storm windows. Bryan himself came to the house on Friday and spent all day closing the spaces with wood trim and caulking the openings at no additional cost to me. The job was finished on Saturday (the crew got a late start on Monday because of the "black ice and traffic congestion all over the area.) The windows look great, the installation was first rate, and I am going to use NewTransitions again to install some kitchen counters.
Description of Work: In the middle of November, 2010, Bryan Ousley came out to the house I was renovating in Affton to give me an estimate on some replacement windows, consisting of: 3 standard double hung windows; 3 standard sliders; 1 large picture window consisting of a fixed central window flanked by two smaller double hung windows; 4 basement "hoppers" (with obscured glass); and a standard patio door. The replacement windows and patio door were all Alliance Belmont white vinyl, with double pane insulated glass with Innovative Low E and Argon. All the windows (except the basement hoppers) and patio door came with enclosed grids. Bryan showed me a sample window similiar to those I was considering. He explained that all of the windows qualified for the Energy Star tax credit. A few days later I received an estimate of $7278 which I thought was fair for the quality of the windows. After accepting the estimate, another employee came to the house and took exact measurements and placed the order. He said there would be an additional charge of $140 to wrap some lintels that I wanted.

Bryan and the guys at New Transitions did a great job! We had a number of companies quote on the job and this was not only the best price but also seemed the most interested in finding out what we wanted and getting it done for us. The work crew we on time and made short work of the job. Windows look great and Bryan even came back out promptly to answer some questions my wife had concerning the windows. Very happy and would definitely use them again.

I knew that the age of our home, (fifty-four years), and the vision my wife and I had for our new bathrooms would require "gutting" the existing baths down to the bare studs and completely starting over. Getting this project from conception to completion was going to require a company with experience in design and craftsman level skills in all of the trades this job would call for. We feel extremely fortunate to have found New Transitions. Most of the contractors we spoke to were "parts replacers"; pull old fixture out, put new fixture in. Bryan Ousley, the owner of New Transitions, listened to our wishes, explained plainly what would and would not work and offered inspired alternatives. Bryan may be the most detail-oriented person I have ever met. When creating the layout for the new baths he went so far as to measure the size of our shampoo bottles! Work began as promised. At the end of each day we would come home and find the work areas immaculately cleaned. I truly believe the crew left our house neater than they found it. As with any job of this magnitude there were unforeseeable issues. What gave me great respect for New Transitions was that they simply FIXED the problem. No muss, no fuss. The job was completed on time and in budget. The end result? Oohs and aahhs from everyone. In short; we are absolutely delighted with all that New Transitions did. They were professional, highly capable, unfailingly polite and demonstrated complete integrity. I give them my strongest possible recommendation. PS: I almost did not write this report. Our kitchen is still in need of remodeling and, once people experience how good these guys are, I'm afraid we'll never get them back!

Bryan Ousley, the owner came out and gave an estimate of the job. He was very punctual for the appointment. He explained everything that would be done and what to expect. His price was reasonable compare some of the other companies that provided a quote. The team that replaced the countertops were professional, did an excellent job and cleaned up after the work was done. The new countertops, sink and garbage disposal look great and work good.

Bryan from New Transitions is friendly and was punctual. He did not waste my time doing the whole dog and pony show. Unfortunately his product is way overpriced for the quality of window he is selling. His bid was $1350 on Alliance Belmont windows, the base grade window from Alliance (which is admittedly a mid tier brand to begin with). We received another bid on Alliance Hawthorne, the top grade window from Alliance for $1100, same options, but better windows. He may be an excellent installer, however his price is far too high for the quality of window offered. In the end we did not go with either of the bids on Alliance windows but opted for a higher quality window.

Response from New Transitions LLC
The Alliance brand "is" a quality top tier brand. I am not sure where this information was gathered. We pride ourselves on using only "Quality" products. As per the Hawthorne vs. the Belmont, when a casement style window is proposed whether a Belmont line or Hawthorne line the product is the same only double hungs and sliders are built slightly different. With regards to pricing, additional trim work for rotted wood was requested to be be bid on and possibley the other company used lesser paid installers and trim materials. Sorry we didn't earn your business. Sincerely, Bryan Ousley

He was very professional, knowledgeable, and punctual. He wrote up an estimate and mailed it within a couple of days. His quote was similar in price to the one we hired. This was one of the best experiences with a contractor we have ever had. Everything went as planned right from the start. Bryan came out and gave us a bid for the windows. He didn't stay for hours and hours pushing his product as many of these companies will do. He gave us just enough information to make our decision and only stayed long enough to do that. We got several bids but decided to go with Bryan. We felt his bid was very fair, but mostly we were impressed with how he handled everything from day one. Everyone he sent out here was on time. The guys that installed the windows did a great job. From the installation to the clean up, everything went as planned. This company seems to care about the jobs they do and we will definitely be hiring them to do other things for us in the future.

Great trustworthy and easy going people even though I changed things on the plans no less than 5 times. Brian didn't fuss a bit about working with my friend who was previously a kitchen designer and wanted to design mine. Brian, Mark and Mark JR transformed my small everything wrong kitchen into a beautiful easy to work in room. The amount of wiring and plumbing that had to be done was well worth it. Now I can look out of a window instead of a wall when I do dishes and no more drafty downdraft range or having to wait to enter the room when the refrigerator door was open. All appliances relocated. Wonderful crew stayed with the job till it was done and cleaned up everyday before they left...amazingly in under 2 1/2 weeks. Will have them back as soon as they are available for my bathrooms.
Description of Work: Totally gutted the kitchen a partial non-load bearing wall, ceramic flooring and the 4 layers below it. Installed 47" cocoa glazed maple cabinets, laminate tops and splash, stainless steel butterfly sink with very quiet ISE insinkerator and Moen oil rubber bronze faucet. with soap dispenser. They installed my supplied appliances, wall oven with microwave, refrigerator, dishwasher and induction cooktop with hood, which included extensive rewiring. They partially removed a wall opening up to the dining room which now has a counterheight bar with cabinets and pendant lights. Wall tile and border design is amazing. Also installed 5 recessed cans, beautiful undercabinet lighting under all cabinets and tons of outlets. They replaced some drywall and framing.

We had all the windows in our house replaced (13 windows). Chose New Transitions because Bryan was low pressure, but thorough and because of all the positive responses on Angie's List. The guys that came to install were professional and courteous. We had a slight miscommunication with a window, but Bryan wanted to make sure that we were satisfied now. The windows are great the installation was well done and clean up was good. However, I am a little disappointed on the patio door hardware. The metal rail did not go all the way cover the full length. It looks perfect from inside, while looking from outside the metal was cut short by 3/4 of an inch. Newtransitions was not the lowest bid that I received. I chose this company was because of the its good reviews and Bryan the ower is very sincere.

I have never had a bad experience with a company I have selected from the List. This was no exception - I was completely impressed with New Transitions. The bathroom had some significant work done to it as mentioned above. Throughout the entire process Mark and Mark Jr were incredibly clean, professional, and attentive to detail. When I say attentive to detail, I mean it. I can be rather picky about my details and these guys "WOWED" me. Mark did an excellent job and believes in doing things well and right. I was impressed with his craftsmanship and willingness to do things right and not cut corners. He did some rather complicated cuts in tile around my door jamb that a lesser craftsman would have fudged through. Not Mark. I could not be more happy with my bathroom. If you want a remodel done that's a mediocre job, call your Uncle Larry. If you want your project done well, where they take their time and put in a LOT of effort, HIRE THESE GUYS. No, I am in no way related to any of them. It's just nice to be able be extremely happy with a project. Thanks guys!
