Description of Work: I had an outside retaining wall put in and a railroad tie wall that was rotted out, replaced. They did a great job and the wall changes the whole look of the front yard.It's super!!!

Description of Work: They created a small patio and steps from my back door to my carport. It needed to be done in time for my son's graduation party. In spite of a period of rain that slowed things down, the owner made sure it was done before the party.The crew that worked in my yard was awesome. They were polite, pleasant, and very professional. They did a great job on the patio and steps and cleaned up after themselves, leaving the yard even better than it was when they got there. I highly recommend them.

Description of Work: Three years ago they dug 2 french drains on one side of my house. Price was great, job was completed & worked for a time. Then the drains started to collect water rather than drain, so called last July to have him back to (a) loook at the existing drains and (b) develop a drainage plan for the other side of the house. Came out, received bid but he has measured incorrectly (as per his bid, way too much drainage pipe, miscalculated the job. He agreed to come back out Nov 1st - never showed. Called him again this past March 2015, left message - nothing. I've read reviews that complain of no contact, poor response - and they are absolutely right. He's good at writing rebuttals, as I'm sure he will here - but the facts are what they are, despite any "spin" he may apply. I've since contracted with another Angie's List drainage company (a REAL "A" rated firm)to have the $9000+ job done later this summer. (PS - if he says he doesn't know me, I'll be happy to send copies of the original invoice and the quote from last year).

Description of Work: Replaced old brick patio with a larger, beautiful stone one. Buried drain coming from house, installed landscaping around patio. Tom does a great job but is very busy. If you don't mind waiting, I would highly recommend Finishing Touch.

Description of Work: Upon recommendation of another Angie's List contractor who was scheduled to do other work on our house, we contacted Tom who said up front that he was pretty busy and couldn't come out right away. After scheduling and rescheduling the appointment (a conflict in our schedule), he came out on April 21, said he'd get right back to us with samples of pavers and an estimate of the cost of building a new entry walkway, and that was the last we saw or heard from him. We have records of all incoming phone calls, and he had our e-mail address, so we can think of no reason for his failure to get back to us. Incidentally, upon the recommendation of one of the workers on our other projects, we found a wonderful contractor who responded promptly, worked our $4,120 job into his schedule, and completed the work within 10 days! It's a beautiful job by a non-Angie's List provider!

Description of Work: They came out to give bid on bring in some dirt and grading it out after 1 week no bid called them told it would be a day or two now its aug ans still no bid i know it was a small job and its the busy time of the year but if they could not do it or didnt want it just say so but dont wast my time

Description of Work: Super responsive to initial inquiry, informative & professional when came out for bid - I really appreciate how flexible they were with scheduling. However, I never received a bid nor did they reply to my last email.

Description of Work: Provided trees, shrubs,rock for new home landscaping. Big job. They provided drawings without charge. Tom does a good job overseeing the work.

Description of Work: Mr. Watson was rude, disrespectful, and unaccommodating when we invited him into our home in the fall of 2012 in order to remedy a broken driveway caused by one of his subcontractors. He has yet to pay the nearly $4,000 required to replace several cracked, damaged sections and we anticipate having to seek remedy in St. Louis Small Claims court. | In the spring of 2012, we contracted with Mr. Watson's company to replace a railroad-tie retaining wall at our home that was in disrepair. His company completed most of the project, but in the process of hauling away old railroad ties, rocks and excess dirt, seven (7) sections of our driveway were cracked when the overloaded trash container truck, subcontracted to Mr. Watson, drove away. We contacted Mr. Watson within minutes after the incident to inform him of the damage. His reaction was to claim no responsibility whatsoever and in fact stated "too bad - those are the breaks" of having work done on one's home and "you gave me permission". Well - we did give him permission, but not permission to damage our property. There is an implicit assumption of "common care and caution" that any reputable company - especially those listed on Angie's List - would exercise in the performance of work on someone else's property. In addition, it is assumed that any reputable company knows its' business, is aware of any potential risks and hazards in the performance of its' duties, and would alert clients to those risks. Either Mr. Watson does not know his business or is not aware of any potential hazards or risks since he did not alert us to any. Furthermore, Mr. Watson has no signed waiver relieving him of any liability. | To top it all off, not all of the work outlined in the contract was completed and some of the work that was completed was not done so satisfactorily. Pictures are available. Topsoil and mulch were to have been laid in the tiered sections on either side of the steps that were replaced. This was not done. Brickwork that was added between the new retaining wall and existing brick patio is crooked. Finally, early last spring (2013), at least eight of the stones on the steps were discovered to be loose. Given the impertinence demonstrated by Mr. Watson regarding the driveway, we did not trust him to remedy any of these deficiencies. We had another company lay topsoil and mulch, we are living with the crooked bricks, and we repaired the loose step. Needless to say we are not at all pleased by the disrespectful, unprofessional manner in which Mr. Watson conducted himself and represented his company. | All of the comments presented here are based upon recent experiences directly with Mr. Watson and his company Finishing Touch Landscape.

Description of Work: This was a Big Deal for $165.00 for outdoor spring landscape clean-up. They cleaned up the leaves and they raked the lawn as well. They took the leaves away.
