We had a problem of water entering the basement during heavy rain. It was suggested by our general contractor that regrading the soil away from the house could fix the problem. Tom Watson was one of several landscapers to come out and give us a bid. He was friendly, courteous and professional from start to finish, and seemed knowledgeable about our problem and how to alleviate it. His was the most simple solution and we felt we should start there and see if it worked. He was patient and helpful while we communicated our concerns and helped us come up with an economical, effective solution. And it worked! In spite of the rains since then our basement remained dry.

It went wonderful. Tom Watson, the owner, was quick to return our calls, very positive and detail oriented. We like that he designed it and we did not need a separate designer for the landscaping work.

Tom was very punctual. We discussed the proposed fix for at least 30 minutes. He discussed many options to fix the problem. He took my inputs, too. We finally agreed to install a drainage system that consisted of a draining box with a grate and an underground pipe that would take the water away from my yard. Tom's crew came out and did all the digging by hand (no heavy machinery used). All the areas that were digged was covered with nice sod. The final job was perfect....no more drainage problems.

Like many, I used Angie's List to select a number of landscapers to review our needs and provide proposals. I met with 6 better rated landscapers from Angie's List. Unfortunately, Tom from Finishing Touch, was an incredible disappointment given his stellar rating on this List. Tom is a nice enough fellow and seems knowledgeable, but based on my personal experience with his company, I won't be contacting him in the future. I met with Tom on August 6th - he was there at the time we agreed, thus the A for punctuality. He walked through our project and said he'd get back to us with a proposal. I told him I would be out on a business trip the following week and it would be okay if he didn't get a proposal to me until the end of that week. After 11 days, I had received proposals from the 5 other companies I met with, but nothing from Tom. On Aug. 17th, I sent Tom an email to see where the proposal was for our project. He said he was working on another "large project" proposal and he would get to mine next and asked that I give him a few more days. After another week with no word from Tom, I sent another email on 8/25. His reply, "...now working on yours, please give me a few more days." It is now 9/1, nearly one month since I met with Tom and still no proposal. More importantly, Tom never contacted me to let me know the proposal would take four weeks to complete or at least, that he would not be bidding for whatever reason. I'm a small business owner myself, so I understand things happen and sometimes you decide you're not a great fit for a customer, but a professional should at least communicate with the customer to let them know. From my standpoint, you'll waste less of your time by sticking with the other highly rated companies on Angie's List.

Prompt response, easy to schedule a consultation, work done FAST, returns calls quickly. Very professional.

Tom did an outstanding Job!!! The price was better than fair for the work that was done ( remove large shurbs, old rail roads ties..etc). He built an great looking retaining wall, added beautiful plants and added mulch for the finishing touch!! I wanted the work completed before my girl friend birthday. Well it was completed before schdule and my girl friend loves the new yard!! She loves sitting on the patio with the beautiful landscape! My yard never looked better! My neighbors are giving me complintains on my yards appearance!! Tom, thank you for a job well done, and I will be more than happy to give references on your work and customer service!!

They were very cordial and nice, and paid attention to detail. We were very pleased with their work. We have a lawn service that cuts our grass weekly. They were supposed to have avoided the area where the sod was laid, but the one guy on the large machinery went over it accidentally. I guess about a 20 by 20 inch piece of sod was cut to the ground. Tom, the person from Finishing Touch had followed up with a phone call to ask how we had liked the job and that?s when we told him what the other provider had done. He came out and replaced the sod this morning.

We called Tom to inquire about a quote, and he called us back the same day. He came over the next evening and provided a quote, explaining the work to be done and making recommendations. We found the quote reasonable. He was able to fit us into his schedule just a few days later. The landscaping was just as requested, and hopefully will add the needed "panache" to our house going on the market. He called later that evening to make sure work was done to our satisfaction. We highly recommend Tom and his company!

The whole process went really well. Tom came twice to our house to tweak his drawings and estimates and made sure we liked and understood what he was planing to do. He was professional, courteous and on time for all of his appointments. He was upfront (and absolutely perfect) about when he could get our job a done and got it done as promised. It took him and his crew (2 people - very nice young guys) one full day and another morning to get all the job done.Before he left the first day - they made sure to clean up everything although the job was not completely done. Overall quality of work was to our satisfaction. He gave a warranty of one full year for all the plants he planted to be replaced for free if anything ever to go wrong in next 12 months. We would definitely use his services again - no doubt!

It all went very well, and just as detailed in the contract. It was done 2 different days and at the end of both days the work area was cleaned up and nothing was left out of place.

I would say that we are very pleased with the work that Tom did on our yard. We found him to be professional, punctual and very neat - our yard looks great. After finishing the agreed upon work we asked him to complete a little extra work on the side of our house - he came the next day to remove more ivy and place sod.

Very well. The work was done within 3 weeks or so of the estimate being given. They worked very quickly and cleaned up everything. Even mulched a few extra areas and planted a few extra roses/plants to enhance the appearance of some of the flower beds.

It was a great experience. The work site was always clean when I got home. The walls look incredible & Tom even did some concrete repair that wasn't in the original price. The deck looks great. I have neighbors walking by looking at my walls & asking who did the work for me.

Wonderful, completed work as indicated in one day. Contacted prior to work beginning to give approximate start date for completion of work, and contacted on day of arrival to complete work. Followed up with us following completion of work, and provided instructions on how to care for grass seeded/sodded areas and lawn in general. Very focused on customer satisfaction, and providing useable information. Conscious of our need to work w/in a budget, and provided helpful tips for do it yourself options as well as cost containment options to still achieve our desired outcome.

Tom was very responsive, and did a good job.

Professionalism and customer care are the best three words to describe the service from Tom Watson and Finishing Touch. During heavy rains, water would leak into a portion of my basement from the walk out patio area. Tom came out, with leveler and shovel in hand and checked to see where the water might be originating from, and the slope of my patio/yard. He determined that the sloope/grading was fine, but a build up of mud/dirt from my retaining wall might be the culprit. I was not only relieved that the possible solution was something simple, but on top of that he cleaned out the area and removed the mud with a smile and "no charge". I would highly recommend Finishing Touch to anyone considering any type of landscaping.

Finishing Touch showed up on time and perfromed the work in two days. The work area was cleaned so well it was really hard to tell they ever there. Tom Watson followd up after the job was completed to ensure we were satisfied with his work and his employees. If you want quality work and a company that you can depend on Finishing Touch is the company you should hire for landscaping, stonework, patio design and construction.

Tom was wonderful to work with. He was very understanding when we had to change plans and scale back. The work was completed quickly and the end results are beautiful. He also pruned and mulched another area that was not on the original estimate and mulched around 2 existing trees at no extra charge. The landscaping complements our house beautifully.

Excellent experience. Tom showed up when promised, he had several excellent suggestions. His price was reasonable. Communicated well during the process. He takes pride in his work. you can tell. I was very pleased, and will use him for my next project.

Tom Watson contacted us immediately after our List submission. He visited us promptly, showed us photos of his work, offered suggestions, and sent us the estimate within a few days. The wall was completed in 3 days. The clean up afterward was meticulous. We are extremely pleased with the wall and the stone inside it. He is among the best in his trade in our opinion. We are asking him to rock and plant shrubs across the front of our home and look forward to his doing that job as well. We would definitely hire Tom Watson again.

Tom came out very promptly after my calling him. We discussed briefly what could be done about my foundation/water problems in particular, and also the addition of a walkway along one side of the house. We also discussed general clean-up of the entire yard. Tom had the contract to me in a couple of days, breaking each project down for me (which I appreciated) with the cost of each. I went on vacation and Tom did the work while I was gone. He did a great job. We did have a miscommunication about the length of the walkway, but Tom came back and extended the walkway, as I had envisioned it, and even took off $50 because he couldn't get out right away. This was very much appreciated, but not necessary. Tom absolutely insisted upon the discount. We also have discussed future work to be done, and I will be calling him to do it when finances permit. I definitely would recommend Tom for any landscaping. I was very pleased with how the job went from beginning to end.

We contacted Tom Watson for an estimate. He promptly made an appointment to measure and evaluate the job. We told him what we wanted and he suggested some good ideas of his own. We received his reasonable estimate soon after that first meeting. The weather has been less than cooperative, but we were surprised by how quickly the work was completed. Mr. Watson and his assistant were very friendly and professional. We are so pleased with the work that they did here, that we have asked for an estimate for another project.

They are very neat and did a good job. They were on time, hard workers and pleasant to deal with.

It took them a while to start the job because of rain on other jobs. So they started later, but once the job started they were done in 3 days as he said. He took off a few dollars because he started later than expected.
