I contacted Tom Watson mid-April 2011 and explained that my existing retaining wall had apparently been built past my concrete foundation and was causing water to back up and leak into my home. Mr. Watson and I agreed he would come by and look at the wall and give me an estimate on May 2, 2011. Mr. Watson was very punctual. He assessed the situation and explained in great detail what was needed to fix it. Although it was not a "big" job compared to some of the ones I had seen of his on-line, he made me feel it was just as important as any of his other jobs. Mr. Watson sent me an estimate and, compared to two other ones I had obtained, his was by far the most reasonable. I signed the contract and sent in my deposit. Mr. Watson's crew showed up on time, worked diligently the entire time they were there and did everything Mr. Watson had said they would do, including replacing all the plants along the top of the wall and power washing the patio. Everyone who has seen the wall has been extremely impressed with the finished product. I would not hesitate to use Mr. Watson's company again and have told many of my family members, co-workers and friends what a positive experience it turned out to be. This was my first time using a company through Angie's list and I look forward to utilizing this service for many years to come. I can definitely see why Mr. Watson has been the recipient of the Super Service Award on multiple occasions. Thanks Mr. Watson and thanks Angie's list!!!!

Finishing Touch is far and away the best landscape company I have ever hired. First and foremost, the estimate I was given was spot-on with respect to price and no corners were cut to come in at the quoted price. In fact, Finishing Touch went above and beyond to exceed my expectations with respect to cost and the impressive quality of the project. Overall, Finishing Touch did everything they said they would do and more. The quality of the material and labor was superb! Not to mention...the owner himself (Tom Watson) acted as the foreman for the entire project. I would highly recommend this company and appreciate the terrific job they did for me and my family.

Tom was on time for the initial meeting. We discussed my vision of a dry river bed of stone in the front bed and a cost effective way to make the back garden beds look good. He suggested options but stated that the cheapest would be cutting the soil around the edge of each bed and mulch throughout. For the river of stone I told him what I envisioned and he offered possible alternatives. I asked if it would be possible to have runoff from my down spout directed into the river of stone to prevent some erosion occuring near the street but because the runoff travels down my driveway there was no way to direct it into the little river of stone. I was a little concerned that I did not have a drawing showing his vision but I felt like he had the same idea I did and so I went with it. He sent me an estimate which we modified and then we discussed the date I wanted the work completed by and I sent him half the money. Within a couple of weeks and 2 weeks before my due date he called and said he would do the work the following day. I drove up to the house with a little trepidation as I had not had good communication with a previous landscaper but Tom did a PERFECT rendition of what I wanted. The back beds looked clean with nice lines. His placement of the mulch in the front bed was exactly in synch with what I would have done if I did it myself. As an added bonus, during the heavy rains last week the runoff from the house actually ran a good amount of the water right down the dry river bed!! It looked EXCELLENT! There is still a little overflow water causing some erosion but much less than it was previously. I am MORE than happy with the results of this project. As an added bonus Tom put in some larger stones at no cost to me. He also repaired a spot of erosion going into my back yard that had been there for years. I was exceptionally happy to see that added bit of extra work. I will definitely be contacting Tom in the future for some other projects I don't want to do myself and I feel confident he will perform to the same degree of excellence. Give him a try. He does great work!

Tom was excellent. He was very responsive to email and phone calls. Came when he said he would. He was always professional and polite, as was his crew. The work they did was great and he checked in regularly to make sure I was happy. They cleaned up so well that my yard looked better than when he arrived. I will definietly use him again for my next project.

This was a great experience from start to finish. Needed someone to perform spring cleanup of planting beds and apply mulch. Tom Watson responded promptly to our call - came out on a Saturday to see what we needed and had a crew on site immediately after we accepted his quote. The job done was beyond our expectations. They edged and shaped all beds, trimmed the shrubs, weeded and applied mulch. They even went above and beyond and cleaned up areas we weren't expecting. Everything looks great. We will definitely be using them again.

I contacted Tom via Angie's List. He called shortly thereafter and set and appointment. The initial appointment had to be rescheduled, but he was prompt in arrival. We have experienced some drainage issues on the property and we walked through the areas of concern at our property. Tom had good solutions (fairly consistent with another Company we received a bid from). He also spoke with my neighbor and gave him some suggestions on how to alleviate some of his drainage issues (which in turn were impacting me). I felt equally comfortable with the quality of each bid, but Tom's was lower. His crew came out and completed the work in short order with high quality. We haven't had a severe thunderstorm since installation to really test the berm and swale solutions, but the drainage off the driveway is fantastic now.

This young man looked at the situation around my house and gave some excellent ideas that I hadn?t even considered.

Tom Watson is very professional and easy to work with and competitively priced. He replied promptly to my request for a quote, all workers showed up when scheduled and completely the work as promised in a very timely manner. Operation was well organized all materials came as needed, employees worked well and everything was cleared up as they worked, no messes left laying around. A lot of rain recently and drains are working as promised and the clean- up and landscaping have given the yard a pretty, crisp, well maintained look.

It went very well. As a matter of fact, I emailed him the day the coupon expired. He called me back in the evening and said he was going to be in our area the next day and put us on his list. I had not bought the coupon yet because I wasn't sure he was going to be able to do what we wanted for the $165.00 and wanted to talk to him first. After speaking with him he agreed to take a check. He came mid morning (he had not given us a specific time) and started working right away. He did a very good job with the trimming of the shrubs and the burning bushes. They look very even and neat and the yard also looks very neat and trim. He cleaned up before he left and we could not even tell he was there. Very nice person to deal with.

He was scheduled to come out the week of 3/28/2011-4/1/2011 and he didn't show up. I called him the next week and rescheduled for the next week. He didn't show up. In all, he didn't show up 3 times in a row. He never even called to let me know he wouldn't show. I finally had to call and tell him I would no longer like to do business with him.

Tom Watson initially came to my home to discuss my back lawn - which is still in dire shape given 5 dogs and a recent illness. I didn't want to deal w/grass so there wasn't much we could talk about - however after recomneding a lawn service as the 1st step, he cleared the front/back yards and his work was pristine. both front/back yards sparkled. The lawn service began and if I get my lawn(s) up to snuff, I'll call him again.

Our home is 5 years old and the original landscaping has filled out, a few things had died, some needed to be transplanted. I identified 3 companies that were well-reviewed on Angie's List and used the click-through to email them, including my phone number. Of the three, only Tom got back to me. He did so in a timely manner and came out for a look within a couple of days. I liked his ideas and the plan and price he emailed me. I was impressed; he didn't try to up-sell me in any way. About 10 days later they showed up and got right to work. As an afterthought, I asked if his crew could spend a bit of time trimming overgrown bushes and cleaning up the beds. He mentioned a bit of mulching might be in order and left to fetch mulch. Although none of this was part of the original contract, they did the extra work efficiently and didn't soak us for it. I thought the pricing for the extras was quite fair.

Tom and his crew did an amazing job for us. They built a Belgard paver patio with a firepit and seating wall. The installed landscape lights. The work that they did exceeded our expectations. We love and enjoy our patio very much! Tom was very hands on, always on time and set the correct expectations as to what was going to happen. We did run into an issue with our in-ground sprinklers and Tom took care of the issue promptly. Highly recommended and look forward to working again in the future.

It was a wonderful experience. From our initial meeting to discuss landscaping ideas I felt like Tom really listened to me & designed projects that showed he understood our personal tastes. We were able to correspond thru email while we decided on the designs we'd actually go with. I was impressed he was open to changes - some companies we've dealt with in the past get rather pushy wanting only to do it "their way". When Tom suggested various plants or even the type of mulch he wanted to use, he would explain why he was choosing it. It only took one day for the projects & Tom was there at the beginning & returned to check their progress. His workers did a very nice job in all areas. The wall is lovely and the plants & shrubs look so pretty. I also really like the curved mulch line & the dark color of the mulch. Several neighbors commented afterward with such nice compliments including "it's the best it's ever looked in the 30 yrs I've lived here" & the ultimate (I thought) praise when one neighbor asked why THEY hadn't looked at our house when it had been up for sale a few years back.

I love the look of my older home now. He has good creative talents. He did exactly as i asked, but also uses his own judgement for just the right "finishing touch."

Excellent. Work was done according to estimate. Work area was well kept and cleaned at end of day. Project was started and completed in time promised. Final product looks great. Tom addressed several issues of concern before I had a chance to ask. His knowledge and professionalism were very reassuring. I am confident in stability of completed wall. We selected Tom Watson's company for many reasons. One was his overall professionalism, secondly was his attention to detail and the complete design and third was his overall price. Another reason we went for him was his warranty. The retaining walls and planting areas he built for us are stunning. We get lots of compliments from neighbors, friends and family over how they look. It really added curb appeal to our yard and we are very happy with the work. Tom not only manages the job but he works on the project himself. He made sure that the job site was leaned up each nigh and really showed respect for our property. I would not hesitate to hire Tom again for any similar type of landscaping work.

Great outcome to this project! The patio is beautiful. We were looking to spruce up a very unsightly area under our deck. Tom came out and came up with the idea of a paver patio. We had a small concrete deck landing re-poured and then he tied the patio into it beautifully. I really like the planter beds that he designed around the patio. I was impressed with the work crew and how they cleaned up after the job.

Tom came on time to look at the area and gave us an estimate. The estimate was to the penny and it was completed within a week. He did a great job at a very reasonable price.

Tom Watson was great to work with. From beging to end. Tom took his time explaining all details and made sure I had a good understaning of all work to be done. It was a very big job that took seven working days. Tom's crew did a great job cleaning up at the end of each day. The completed job is a sight to behold, I never knew it would look so good, Tom took a very plain space and created a space we will enjoy for years to come.

Excellent experience. Very prompt in responding to my initial email inquiry. Came out in the evening (after I got off work) to give an estimate. Divided the project into three parts and gave a quote for each, allowing me to decide how much work I wanted done. Was delayed in start of job, do to weather. But once the project was started, it was completed in a couple of days. Reused some existing materials to save me money. Cleaned up the job site every night. The finished job looked very professional and met my expectations.

Tom Watson came out and looked at our dreary front yard and a section of the back yard and then returned with a wonderful plan that addressed all our concerns. When he and his crew came to do the work, they were very diligent (in spite of the 103 temperature) and finished very quickly and efficiently. I would recommend Finishing Touch to any of my friends and neighbors. Excellent Job!!!

We had our driveway redone and were in need of landscaping work to repair our paver patio and properly address the irrigation of the newly buried drain pipes. Tom was very responsive and came out within two days of our initial call. He had great ideas to clean up the landscaping around our driveway and to properly address the the buried drain pipes to eliminate any long term issues that may arise. A small retaining wall was built to maintain the grade of the grass line against a portion of the driveway. They also added new sod and mulch to make everything look perfect. His crew took great care in making sure all of the little details were properly addressed. The finished product looks great. We look forward to using Tom and his team on future projects.

Tom told me from the start that it would take him 3 to 4 days to complete the project and was true to his promised start date. The first day they did the layout and prep work. The next two days the they finished the patio and started the weed guard for the gravel borders along the fence. On the fourth day they laid in the stepping stones and gravel to finish the project. The crew always cleaned up the work site at the end of each day. Tom was always responsive to our suggestions and concerns.
