Description of Work: I purchased a coupon from Angie's list. It was for general yard clean up, and included the trimming of hedges.

Description of Work: Tom's team redid one of our backyard patios, removing flag stone and laying pavers; and built a stone retaining wall along our driveway. They also ended up installing a french drain, solving a decades-old water problem.

Description of Work: Left an email message - Tom called we set up a time for him to review the work needed, found him very professional.

Description of Work: I contacted Tom for an estimate to replace a lawn that I felt had too many weeds to fix.

Description of Work: I contacted Tom Watson in March to give me a bid on work needed to repair my back yard and replace a rotting retaining wall. Tom suggested a very economical solution to repair our back yard and make it look great. He removed their existing grass, replaced it with Fescue sod. He then prepped the rest of yard, removed dead grass, and seeded and fertilized. He then removed plants and dirt from the flower bed in front of deteriorating retaining wall. He removed the wall, and existing fence, and prepared the area for installation of Versa-lock retaining wall. He built retaining wall, complete with drain system, refilled dirt back into bed, and replaced fence. He mulched the area, as well as mulching all my other flower beds, which was not in the contract. Cleaned up the area every day and it was immaculate when the crew left.

Description of Work: Four dead trees were removed and 6 new trees planted. In addition 5 ugly plants were removed and replaced with hydrangeas. Two new planting beds were made and filled with more plants.

Description of Work: We hired Finishing Touch to complete a paver patio we had put in 3 years ago. The estimate to extend a patio under a screened porch was very good, but we were told that the pavers used for the original patio were no longer made, and that they would do the best to get a close match. We were assured the crew would protect our newly-revitalized lawn and repair any damage they did in the process. The pavers were delivered and appeared close in color; it turned out they were cobbled instead of smooth like the original pavers they were intended to match but since they were upside down on the pallets it appeared that they were smooth as we expected. We asked to have the pavers abut the footings for the porch posts. Instead the installation was stopped some 2-3 inches from the footings, leaving a gap that we would have to fill later. My wife and I were unhappy with the finished work largely because the cobbled pavers were very different from what we expected. Had we been shown a sample before they were delivered and installed it would have saved us aggravation and about $1,300 and saved Finishing Touch time spent tearing up work that had been done. We later found that the original pavers were still manufactured and available from multiple local suppliers. We called Tom Watson, told him of our displeasure, and our discovery and apologized for not doing the research to find the pavers originally. We offered to pay for the new pavers if Finishing Touch would cover the labor to remove the old ones and set the new ones. He agreed to take up the mis-matched pavers, return them to the supplier and replace them with the proper ones if we covered his crew's labor cost. He assured us that the cost of the new pavers would nearly be covered by the credit for returning the originals. We agreed. The new pavers were installed and the patio matches the existing one, though the edge abuts the posts, not the footings as we had asked. Returning the original pavers covered approximately 1/3 the cost of the replacement ones; essentially we paid nearly 35% more than the original bid for our patio extension. We did not approve the original pavers nor were offered a chance to do so; there was never a walk-through or review of the work in progress and there was never an offer to review the finished product with us to identify areas that could be repaired prior to leaving the job site. The Finishing Touch crew did not protect the lawn as promised though they did throw grass seed over the damaged areas. We've paid the invoice, but caution any consumer to get everything in writing, do not to take anyone at their word that something is "not available", ask for progress reports and demand a "walk through" of the work each day.

Description of Work: He did patio landscaping and built a small retaining wall.

Description of Work: They refinished all of my flower beds, added some new grass, rearranged many of my plants and got rid of some much needed clutter in my flower beds.

Description of Work: Finish Touch Landscaping put a new French drain in my back yard to keep the water out of my basement.

Description of Work: To spread dirt to bring the soil level up to the porch and sidewalk levels. To even the dirt around the bushes and shrubs. To lay down sod on the lower side of the sidewalk to keep the dirt from washing away. They did everything they said that they would, and cleaned up nicely.

Description of Work: Redid two small gardens on the sides of the front door: Removed all existing plants Planted 32 new plants Put down new mulch

Description of Work: We had problems with water coming up through the floor is our basement. Tom came out and explained what he would do and why. Work Completed: 1. Have all utilities located on property prior to digging. 2. Remove small landscape bed timber and haul away from property. 3. Add dirt along back of house to help deflect water from home. 4. Install sod along back of house and blend in with existing yard. 5. Dig and create French Drain box in yard 6. Install sock drain pipe in French Drain 7. Install Filter fabric inside of French Drain box 8. Cover drain pipe with 1" clean rock 9. Cove 1" clean rock with filter fabric. 10. Continue filling French Drain with dirt to match grade. 11. Connect drain pipe from French Drain to gutters coming off of house 12. Dig trenches and bury 4" solid drain pipe 13. Install Pop-up connector on the end. 14. Grade yard area along house for proper slope. 15. Install sod over area to look great. 16. Water in and roll yard when finished

Description of Work: They graded and finished our backyard. They put in sod and drainage.

Description of Work: Installed retaining wall to control water drainage away from patio in sloping yard. Installed / buried drainage pipe.

Description of Work: French drain, leveling the yard with top soil, Fescue sod.

Description of Work: Removal of existing shrubs and Red Bud tree. Removal of existing railroad ties and landscape timbers. Laid out design and installed new Versa-Lok retaining wall in front , side, and continued to backyard patio of home. Built small retaining wall up around front porch of home. Laid sod in yard area above and below new wall. Planted Green Velvet Boxwoods, Emerald Green Arborvtiaes, Patriot Hostas, Azalea Princess, Dwarf Royalty Crape Myrtle and 6 variegated Liriope. Weed barrier cloth was placed around shrubs and Iowa Rainbow gravel laid over cloth. Brown mulch was placed where discussed. Cut off sewer tap pipe and lowered. Removed additional odds and ends as requested.

Description of Work: The workers tore down and rebuilt an existing stone retaining wall (ca. 3 ft high by 75 ft long). The wall was leaning badly because of improper drainage. The workers cleaned the stone completely, installed proper drainage behind the wall and replaced the stone as a dry wall. This required close to five days because the previous wall had been partially mortared.

Description of Work: Leaves removed from front, side, and rear yard; areas of erosion filled in and leveled out; sod put down.

Description of Work: We had a railroad tie retaining wall that was in pretty sad shape. They removed all the old ties and replaced them with a block wall. They also cleaned up everything and installed sod where their Bobcat had torn up the yard.

Description of Work: Finishing Touch prepped 3 areas of my yard by removing all existing weeds/grass/shrubs, designed and shaped new beds, installed natural stone edging, planted all new plants and trees, installed weed barrier cloth and mulched or installed gravel in all areas.

Description of Work: YARD WORK. Had three areas of yard (corners) overgrown with weeds and bushes. Was once flowers with a rock base. Really unsightly now and beyond hope. Finishing Touch came out and removed all vegetation first. Was not an easy job. One corner had a Wisteria vine that had taken up residence and overcame a gate and the fence. Then after all vegetation was removed, the rock had to be taken out. The rock was wheel barrowed by hand to debris carrier in front yard driveway. Then corner areas were leveled out and sod put down. They watered and rolled sod when finished. Now yard looks clean and no longer an eyesore. Have to hand it to the workers they really worked hard. Had all this done in one day.They also trimmed bushes in front of the house. All debris was hauled out and away. Cleaned up well.

Description of Work: They redid a small backyard. This entailed: * Putting in a stone patio. * Putting in a retaining wall * Putting in soil and gravel to even it out * Putting in sod * Removing a very large root and the related tree * Removal of unwanted shrubbery * Avoiding damaging of existing privacy fence.
