Fast response time. Answered all questions I had with no hesitation.

Hired to find out if a kitchen wall was load bearing or not. They came out on November 1, 2023 and inspected wall and performed the 3D scanning (waste of time and money) As of writing this review on 11/28/23 we still have not received anything from the company. We have contacted company three times and still nothing.

Dealing with a structural concern, I was looking for insight and options to address the issue. I was pleased with the information received. The cost was explained prior to appointment and even though I knew the cost, I feel the evaluation based on the time spent on site to be rather expensive.

Dr G was helpful and quick to respond. The engineers that came out were thorough and professional, they were great.

Quick and efficient. These guys were amazing with their overall interactions with me. They explained everything in detail. I will definitely use these guys again in the near future on other projects I have.

I was playing around on HomeAdvisor looking for a structural engineer around 8PM and within a couple of minutes Dr. G called my phone. He was very professional and at the end of the conversation he texted me his information to contact his Administrator in the morning. I called Heather and had an appointment to meet with Dr G at he house that same day at 2PM. I arrived on time and he was already there looking at the outside of the foundation. He was able to answer all my questions and reassure me that the house would be a good purchase, but also recommended work that needed to be done most likely in the future. We had our letters from him written that same day and we were done with everything in less that hour. If you are buying a house and are concerned about the foundation, I highly recommend Dr. G. He works for the buyer and makes sure you know everything and every problem that might arise in the future with your new home purchase.

Dr. G worked through a challenging job and got everything completed in the short deadline that was given.

I received very thorough advice and detailed plans from Dr G at DOTEC for replacing sagging support beams in my basement and bring the house up to code. Very grateful to him.

Dr. G was very pleasant to work with - I was considering purchasing a home that appeared to have some foundation issues, and I am very glad that I reached out to DOTec and Dr. G for help. He was very thorough in his inspection of the home, and he took the time to show me every detail and explain what we were looking at and why is was good/bad sign for the overall structure. He encouraged questions and provided his professional opinion on the scope and expense of repairs necessary with the home. His analysis and advice was well worth the cost of inspection!

We paid $550.00 in February 2017 for DOTEC to come to our home and discuss plans for our renovation. Dr. Gonzalez was our initial contact during this meeting which took place in April 2017. We provided CADD drawings of the renovation which required header specifications in order to be submitted to the building division for our permit. Dr. Gonzalez took pictures and asked if we could open up the ceiling, take a picture in order to substantiate the direction of the floor joists. We did this is a timely manner and sent the pictures to him. After months of waiting, several calls and texts to Dr. Gonzalez, we still had no sealed drawing. Finally, I was instructed to send the CADD drawings again because they could not locate them. I promptly sent them again to the DOTEC office and continued to wait. I was finally put in touch with David who said he was taking over the project. David visited our home with another engineer to look at the structure. It is now July 2018, more than a year after our initial contact. At the end of August 2018, I received a call from DOTEC saying that our drawings were ready and that the balance due was $4000.00. During the initial contact my wife made with DOTEC, she was told by Dr. Al Gonzalez, the $550.00 fee paid would be all that was required. After I strongly objected to this invoice amount, I received a text message from Dr. Gonzalez saying that they had performed 21 pages of analysis, and he was willing to lower the cost to make it work. So now I am having to negotiate for the engineering that is taken over a year to get. During this negotiating process, I was assured that the drawings were of high quality. After this series of text messages, Dr. Gonzalez disappears again, and I am left to deal with David. I ended up paying an additional $950.00 in November 2018 to get our drawings, more than 1.5 years after our initial consultation. These drawings, sealed by Dr. Al Gonzalez on August 8, 2018, were going to be submitted to the building division, but they are now over a year old. Our GC called DOTEC to see about having them updated but was informed that there would be additional $900.00 charge. Upon further inspection of the sealed drawings, the building codes used on them were dated 2007. The codes used were outdated by more than 6 years and the description of materials required did not match the drawings. Yes, I paid $1500.00 for high quality drawings that are not worth the paper which they are printed. I have had to hire a new engineering company to produce correct drawings for our project, and they will be the ones presenting them to the building commission. As far as I am concerned, DOTEC and Dr. Al Gonzalez duped us out of $1500.00, provided us with worthless plans that sited outdated building codes and incorrect materials. The proof is the plans with his seal on them.

Dr G is excellent he exceeded my expectations and relieved a lot of stress. I was more than satisfied with the experience. Initially hiring a structural engineer was quite overwhelming but he made me comfortable, he was very professional and informative. I truly recommend his services. And I truly Thank him from the bottom of my heart!!!!
