Rob rarely showed up to work... maybe only once or twice a week and some weeks we wouldn't see him at all. He started the job in June and said he would be done in 2 weeks (which we didn't really expect). By the end of August, he was only about 1/3 done. We gave up on him and had to take him to court for the money we had paid him. We paid for $4,000 of stone up front (all materials) and 1/2 of the labor ($2,000). He ended up only purchasing 2 pallets of stone initially, but because he did not finish the job, he did not spend the full $4,000 on stone. He did have to pour new foundation posts for our deck after tearing out the old wall supports. I think that he had never actually built a wall from natural stone, because he didn't seem to know what he was doing and didn't use the clothing backing he should have (as I later learned). He brought in a machine and ran over our sewer vent in the yard, breaking the pipe about 3 feet down into the ground. Overall, he made a complete mess of the yard and we finished building the wall ourselves. Because we had paid so much money to him, we were not able to hire someone to come in and regrade the yard until the following spring. The yard was a disaster for nearly a year and we never received the money he owed us from the court case.

I had a horrible experience with him. He promised it would take 2 weeks but 3 months later he was only a third of the way done. He was never on time and not reliable at all. My yard was muddy all summer long. He took on too many jobs at one time, just taking people s money and never doing the work. He worked by himself. We ended up taking him to court because we paid money upfront for a job that he never completed. Even when we were supposed to get our money back, we have still not seen it.
