First of all, how does one five star review and one one star review add up to a 4.3 rating? My husband and I purchased a home in Rolla in January 2024. The previous owner had one of the retaining walls along the driveway and the drainage sestem replaced in June 2023. Yesterday I had to dig up the new drainage because it was going uphill, and flooding our driveway, garage and basement. The wall is already leaning outward and bowing from the preasure behind it. Mud is flowing from between the boards and under the wall. Furthermore, as I was digging up the drain, the back fill was littered with trash and debis from the original concrete wall, making the digging process very difficult. The debris which they charged for removing. Leaving this review is the only recourse I have.

We never got started.
Description of Work: I met with Joel Oberly and he seemed sharp and experienced. He was going to provide an estimate but never did. He originally said it would be a month before they could get started. I never got any more feed back. I called to check if he was still interested in doing the work but he did not answer my voice mail. I had wasted about a month at that point so finally had to call another carpenter to go through the process again. I would have appreciated being told that he could not do my job in a timely fashion if that was the case.
All work has been completed to our satisfaction. On one occasion when we had several inches of ice the ceiling in our dining room was found to be leaking to the point that the dry wall etc was actually falling in. This occurred overnight. We had an open house scheduled for the very next day. I called Joel and told him my situation, he came from the job he was doing, leaving the men who work for him to continue their work and assessed the situation, procured the necessary supplies to make the necessary repairs and completed the work including one coat of paint and returned the next morning prior to the open house with a second coat of paint. He routinely cleans up any debris and always makes sure my husband and I are more than satisfied with his work. He is timely and very pleasant. I trust his recommendations and bids.
Description of Work: Joel has worked in our home several times. He has painted, done repair of ceiling damage due to water on 2 occasions, removed "popcorn" ceiling and repaired to a flat unblemished ceiling, repaired a door, put in new lighting, and generally advised us regarding major home changes and remodeling. He is scheduled to replace a skylight on our 3rd floor in the spring.
