after about 3 days i get a call from the owner of bit n bytes and he says that his gaming pc repair guy cant get my pc booted up, and that it is because of my motherboard was fried. So I told them to just order a refurbished mother board just like the one i had. So they call me back an hour later and tell me that he can fully upgrade my pc for 500 dollars in just parts not counting labor which is 85 dollars an hour. Or option 2 he can get an older motherboard for 250 dollars. which is a lie because i looked up my exact motherboard model on ebay and its average refurbished price was 100 dollars. So immediately I just told them i would pick it up and fix it when i got more money. However when i got home I looked up my motherboard model and found the solution to my boot loop problem which was to lay a screwdriver over 2 prongs sticking out of my motherboard to reset the CMOS settings. This took 5 minutes, then i hit the power button and it booted up with my secondary bios and then the 2nd BIOS fixed the corrupted main BIOS, which in turn fixed my boot problem. So obviously this pc repair guy is not experienced or he was trying to rip me off or both. I paid a non refundable 50 dollar bench fee for nothing, actually when i got my computer back, all of my disk drives were disconnected, from the power supply and the motherboard. So I paid 50 dollars for work to get undone. And can you imagine if I would have paid all that money for a new motherboard when my motherboard wasn't even fried. I definitely do not reccommend this repair shop, unless you want to waste 50 dollars or have them swap out parts that aren't even bad!!! Updated 2/4/21 This is a follow up to my last review, I was contacted by the Owner of Bits N Bytes Technologies, Which is a different person than I thought. The call was very professional and in turn restored my faith in the Business and the services they provide. He has 30 yrs experience in the field of computer repair, and I was given a formal apology and explanation of what had happened. I did not ask for this call nor an apology which is also a plus !! The call went as followed: When I brought in my PC The Owner who also repairs the Gaming PCs was out of town, and when I reported essential info regarding the problem and repair of my computer, only part of it was actually conveyed to him. He was told that I only wanted data migrated to an SSD so he quickly returned to get that part of the job done because he was heading out of town again, and wanted to get my computer returned to me as quick as possible ( which I appreciate.) However when he tried to boot up my computer, all it would do is power cycle or boot loop as they call it. The Boot loop or corrupted bios problem was not conveyed to him. I fully understand this because many things can cause your pc to power cycle, and not knowing what caused the problem and a time constraint can truly hinder your efforts !! To fix this problem he gave me his personal cell and told me to call him firsthand if there ever come a problem or concern like this again. He also made it clear that he would call everyone firsthand from here on out if the computer problem is not obvious, and he welcomes any incoming concerns from customers, Which is awesome cust. svc. in my book. Not only that but he offered me a full refund of my bench fee!! The motherboard pricing was also explained to me. He buys you the best and tries to avoid China products which is fully understandable because you don't always get what you purchase when you buy from China. So my official view of this business is now fully filled with trust and faith, and I would fully recommend them to all of my family, friends and myself. If you ever have a concern I guarantee that you are only a call away from a resolution with these guys!!!!
