Winkler’s Lawn Care & Landscape

They came out, took pictures and shot me a bid in a few weeks. It was mid summer, so hard to find any landscapers not booked out for a month. They sent a bid and said they could do the work soon, and I approved. Several weeks went by, and nothing back. Several excuses, and keep moving the date back. After about 6 weeks, they finally admitted they were apprehensive about even doing the work because they thought I'd sell the house and stiff them on the bill. They wanted half down up front ($1000). I was already 2 weeks into July with the house not ready to list because the landscaping didn't look good enough to photograph, and way too late to find another landscaper, so I paid. The actual work was nowhere near worth $2000. Somewhere in the $500-1000 range. All they did is remove about half of the plants to balance things out, and replace a few bushes with smaller ones. They didn't even trim some clematis that was half dead from the summer heat. Waste of time and money. I might as well have taken photos to the nearest garden center, asked them for advice and done it myself.

No response.

The work is good. They are very prompt. They leave the area clean and always inform me when they have come. I would recommend them to a friend.

Winkler's provides residential lawn care service to many homes in the Platte City area and each home they service looks great. I had worked with other lawn care companies in the past with various degrees of success. I decided to switch to Winkler's based on several factors. 1) Their costs were at or lower than all other provided estimates. 2) They do a lot of work in Platte City, so anytime I see one of their technicians it's easy to ask a question. They may not even be working on my lawn but will still take a few minutes to answer any question I might have. 3) The work they do on my lawn, trees, and landscape beds is excellent. I am looking forward to having a beautiful lawn over the next several seasons. Overall I have been very happy with Winkler's and look forward to continuing our professional relationship.

I chose Winkler because they were in Platte City and I thought they were a small local operation. Not so. They apparently do a large amount of corporate business. On the whole, you are treated like a corporate customer. My wife loves to garden and she thought that someone would show up and she could talk to them about specifics. Rather, they just showed up without warning, made no attempt to contact us, and using a large commercial mower, were here and gone before we knew it. And my wife's fear were realized as they cut down some flowers next to the lawn. The rest of the lawn was well done. If you are a corporation with a large lawn and no flowers, Winkler is fine. But if you're just a homeowner who no longer wnts to mow the lawn, look elsewhere. We found a man who was unemployed and had started his own small-scale yard business. Lots of TLC. Lower prices. Just what we want.

I got several bids and their bid was the most reasonable. They showed up on time and they cleaned up everything when they were done.

Their estimate was much higher than another company and so we didn’t accept their estimate. The other company charged a little over $1000. It looks like some companies do tree removal and pruning as a side business. I think they also charge a lot for the landscaping work. I think their estimate was about $2500. They seemed professional. There was nothing wrong with how they did the estimate. I didn’t feel like they wanted the job. They came out when they said they would come out. They were out within a couple of days.

A little miss communication on both are parts but the company respond rapidly when I expressed concern about a portion of the work. It seems our spring weather of rain had posed a problem. Very happy with service to date and plan to use again the summer to maintain my landscaping.

They cleaned up the area after cutting the tree. I had a very good experience with them. It was very difficult to schedule with them. They were on time and the price was very reasonable too. Their quality, responsiveness and professionalism were excellent. I would use their services in the future too.

Everything went very well. Brandon Grosko gave us an estimate and told us exactly what he was going to do. He was very patient with questions and very clear on the answers. When we decided on what options we wanted, he showed up on schedule and all was installed according to plan. They were very professional and knowledgeable. Everything looks very nice. We've had several rainstorms since the french drain was put in, and no water in the basement. Very pleased.

I thought the experience with Grosko was very good. They contacted me promptly and arrived on time. They finished early and gave an exact estimate too.

Overall very pleased. Only issue: they said they would arrive in the morning but didn't arrive until afternoon and they ran out of daylight and had to return to finish the next day. However this was not really a problem, since we weren't in a hurry and weren't sitting around waiting for them. All promised work completed, area cleaned and left nice.

They were very responvie and got back to me quickly. They came out and gave me options on what to do. We finially decided to remove it and replace it.

The company's owner operator is Brandon Grosko. Very friendly and knowledgeable.
