+ -1 moreWe contacted Jeff at Northland Management & Construction to request a bid for the repair of a couple issues that were presented during the inspection of a home we are purchasing. On the phone Jeff stated that he could give us a bid based on the inspection report, which I provided to him. I explained that we had a tight deadline and we had to have these numbers to our real estate agent the following day. Jeff agreed to have the bid in time. The next day I received an email from Jeff stating that he will charge us $75 to complete the bid. We were not informed of this charge during our initial conversation. The company's website clearly states: "Request A Free Quote. No size job is too big or too small! Just give us a call. We will meet all of your home remodeling needs including kitchens, baths, living areas, basements, home exteriors and more!" We need to have a bid today and the company we were counting on left us hanging. Now we have to scramble to find a last minute bid. Why does their website and Angie's List profile state "Free Quote", but they charge $75? If this is their business practice, I want nothing to do with them.
