HAYES HEATING & COOLING

This is the second time we have used Hayes. Just like the first time, they were able to make it to our home the same day we called. They performed an evaluation of the furnace, recommended a minor repair, cleaned, serviced, and completed the repair all on the same visit. The price was very reasonable, and the team was professional the whole time. Hayes will be our “go-to” for anything related to our HVAC system in the future!

We called Hayes on a Saturday morning, and they arrived that afternoon. He was able to quickly diagnose the issue, but unfortunately did not have the replacement part on his truck (bad gas valve). He was able to get a replacement early Monday morning, was at our house by 8:30am, and had the furnace up and running by 9:00am. The price was very affordable and service was top notch. Hayes will be our go-to company in the future!

We use them for fall and spring cleaning and check. Great family owned business, doesn't try to upsell anything but happy to give us estimates for whenever we have to replace our aging unit.

Great HVAC Recommendation + Excellent Installation John Hayes and his son recommended a replacement Ruud gas fired furnace with 95% efficiency and a Ruud air conditioning system with a SER rating of 14. This equipment offered the best optimum with regard to initial cost, operating costs, and reliability. The installation was excellent. I'm a retired mechanical engineer and I was impressed with the installation. It has been a pleasure working with John Hayes Heating and Air Conditioning over the past several years. The work was passed by the St. Louis County inspector with no problems.

The service provide by John and Matt Hayes was outstanding. There really aren't enough superlatives to describe their work or work ethic. They were friendly, courteous, punctual and efficient. But most impressive was their obvious desire to do the job correctly. They went the extra mile to insure the installation of the replacement units was done accurately. They paid attention to the little details and didn't rush through the job just to get it done. And a big plus...they didn't try to push equipment that I didn't want or need just to increase their margin. I am very appreciative of their exemplary service and I would highly recommend them.

This is our first winter in the 80 year old house, and our first winter in St. Louis. We needed a seasonal check/cleaning on the system and I had some questions about temperature regulation on the 3 floors. He arrived on time, answer my questions thoughtfully and didn't keep trying to upsell me on other things. I will be calling them back this week to get a humidifier added to the HVAC system.

Mr. Hayes responds quickly and always fixes the problem. I also oversee the maintenance of 2 other family residences, and he has dealt with major issues on both those HVAC systems. I found him a few years ago when another service provider could not fix my mother's A/C in mid-summer. Mr. Hayes diagnosed & fixed the problem on his 1st visit. He's very pleasant and always willing to explain to me what he's doing. I can't say enough good things.

They responded promptly to our need, which was essential as our gas service was turned off until the leaks were. They did good work and it was affordable.

I had my first child on January 26, 2014 and we came home two days later. The first night with our newborn, our heat went out. I was freaking out! Early in the morning we called Hayes Heating and Cooling and they were there before lunch. Very professional; very prompt. The only complaint would be that I have no idea how much heating issues should be and I thought it was a bit high . . . but in all honesty, I was also hormonal and COLD and didn't shop around so the price very well could have been spot on. We used Hayes again and had them check all of our air conditioners before summer rolled around and will certainly use them again!

I called as an emergency and while we were in the middle of a hot spell and he was busy at other clients that night, he came right over the next morning. Our unit was an add on and over 13 years old. He told me he could get it working, but we should consider buying a new one before the following summer. He replaced a coil or condenser or whatever, thoroughly cleaned the whole unit, checked the filters on the intake. He noted that the pan under the motor was completely rusted out and did his best to stabilize everything. I felt he was very professional, didn't try to hard sell us a new unit which I told him we couldn't afford to do until next year. Came up with a solution to our current issue, and was extremely reasonably priced. When we get ready to purchase a new unit I will definitly call this company first.

It went FANTASTIC! My wife called that day to tell them the air conditioning wasn't working. They came out the same day and it was all done by 7pm that evening. They were really professional to work with. My wife was able to leave the house and they did the work, they were very trustworthy. It was good to be able to leave the house that day since it was so hot an dit not be an issue. They helped us by informing us about the energy rebates. They let me use the Angie's List discount even though I could not find it. I thought that was very generous

we love hayes! mr hayes is always very kind and knowledgeable. performs clean and check of ac and furnace without trying to sell unnecessary services. has performed one fix on our furnace also ....even drove 45 minutes to get the part!

Mr. Hayes and his son came on a Monday morning around 9a. I explained that there was a slight gas leak in my house and just wanted him to check everything out. After locating all the gas lines, he reported to me that 3-4 gas lines needed shut off valves in order to pass code, and that there was a more significant leak in the gas pipe leading to the main fireplace. He gave me an estimate of $400 to fix that one leak; the remaining job was $600 something plus Angie's list discount of 10%. We opted not to fix the fireplace leak at this time since it was not mandatory and he put a cap on that pipe. We could immediately tell the gas smell has subsided. I appreciated the first call that Mr. Hayes made, he gave me specifics on how much his services usually ran. He was not pushy about his services and seemed very knowledgeable about everything (unlike the last plumber that I had come out from AHS). After leaving, my dryer was no longer heating. After doing some research on how to relight the pilot (which I could not find), I called Mr. Hayes and he told me that he turned off what he thought was a gas line to an old oven but it must have been to the dryer. He offered to send one of his technicians out to turn it back on but after describing to me where it was, I was able to find it and turn it back on. Dryer is heating again.

I called on Friday and Hayes was scheduled to come out on Monday. We were worried about our pipes freezing since it is January, he assured us that it was warm enough. He called me on Sunday, and said he was heading out to the house because it was supposed to get cold that night. I was really impressed by his proactiveness. He found the leaks, fixed the anti-tip device (which was already on the stove but only needed to be engaged) and was able to tell that we already had the chimney liner. I called the gas company and the gas was turned back on but they wouldn't light the boiler. Called Hayes back (Sunday night) because we were worried about freezing pipes and he went out and turned on the boiler (for a service fee, but since this was a Sunday night, this seemed reasonable). I was highly impressed with his service. He explained the problems and seemed very knowledgeable. I really liked how I could get a hold of him easily when there were problems. I would highly recommended him for any heating and cooling issues!

My "knight in shining armour"! John came to my rescue for some last minute repairs before selling my house. (By last minute I mean he finished his work at 2PM when I had a 4PM final walk through!) He was prompt, professional, made sure everything matched code and all paper work for the closing was available before he left. Thanks John!

What impressed me most of all was that they were so nice and they responded quickly. They came out within three hours and I was very pleased with that. They were very, very professional. They knew what they were doing and they came prepared to do the work.

Contacted the office late in the afternoon and explained that we have a small gas leak in the gas line running to the furnace and can smell a bit of a gas odor. The lady who took my call was very pleasant and willing to assist and said that she would contact John to determine his availability and call me right back. Within 15 minutes, John called me back directly and spoke with me regarding the issue we were having and what they could do to remedy the situation and estimated cost to fix. He said he could come right out and within the half hr he and his son arrived, were able to detect 2 small gas leaks and fixed them. They were great to work with! Quick response and resolution and we were charged exactly what we were quoted! Would definitely recommend to others.

I am trying to get hold of him very soon. I should have done it in the fall, but I was busy. He got the air conditioning working. He is wonderful. He is thorough. He is trustworthy. He comes with his son. He is kind. He is efficient. He gets the stuff done. He doesn't charge too much and get the work done. I can't say enough about him. He is magnificent. He is so good. He takes care of whatever the problem is.

They did a fabulous job. They were extremely professional. They called before they arrived to tell me they were on their way, but they were a little late. They treated me like I knew what I was doing. It was as if I was a colleague. They walked me through how my furnace worked and let me ask questions. It was quite remarkable.

The job I was particularly happy with was last summer. Last summer my air conditioner was not working, and I had another heating and air conditioning person come in and tell me that I needed a whole new furnace and everything. I was going to have to spend over $2000. I sought Hayes for a second opinion, and they found out that it was just a thermostat. My bill came to about $120. Their price is right. I don’t have to worry about them cheating me. They come in, and they are honest. There were several different things they could have done to try to oversell me and do more. They did exactly what needed to be done and no more. I will continue to use them in the future.

Laclede had to turn off our gas because of some small leaks they found on a Friday night, leaving us without use of our furnace or hot water heater. I called Hayes on Saturday morning, explaining that I needed everything fixed as soon as possible so I could get Laclede to come back and turn the gas back on. Within a couple of hours, he was at our house and everything was fixed. He was very good about explaining everything to me and very neat. Laclede said he had done a good job and our gas was restored.

We absolutely love both units. The installation was very professional. John and his son did a great job and we couldn't be more pleased. The Amana Air Conditioner is very quiet and delivers outstanding cooling performance. We love the wireless thermostat and wouldn't get a central air conditioner again without it, especially if you own a two story home.

John Hayes is the owner. We spent about $ 3500 on that work. Our interaction with them was excellent. They were able to fit us in before Christmas. The work was completed on time and it was a good experience. He is the regular heating and cooling guy that we regularly use.
