Two months after returning the signed contract, Rock Solid sprung into action. Removal of the old fireplace went easily and the new stone fireplace was soon in place and looked great. We bought the gas insert from Bruce at B&K Fireplace and Bruce installed it perfectly. The only problem was with Rock Solid's electrician. In the process of adding the electrical outlet to the top of the mantel, he tied into the wrong line and was pumping static signals into our audio receiver. That was ultimately corrected but not be shorting out the audio analog input on the receiver. Easily fixed by switching to digital input so I did not pursue recourse with Rock Solid. A week later we noticed one of the rocks in the fireplace was loose and had not be cemented in place. We notified Rock Solid and within a couple of days it was fixed. While I would recommend Rock Solid for almost any project, I would not hire them for any electrical work.

I spent about $3000. I would give them A-ratings. They came on time and as far as I'm concerned they did a good job. I was pleased with the end result.

Excellent workmanship, quality fixtures and other products, subcontractors arrived and completed work on time, and workers kept busy on task during the project. Each day, care was taken to lay down tarps and other measures were taken to control dust and remove materials. The workers and staff were all extremely professional, friendly and courteous. The only concern was that sometimes communications were faulty or slow. Few "surprises" occurred and when they happened Rock Solid handled them with confidence and professionalism. Homeowners should always demand that the contractor provide general liability insurance and Worker's Compensation coverage for their employees. It there is an accident involving one of the crew, the liability can easily fall to the homeowner. Rock Solid insures their workers and the law requires it however there are many (one we considered hiring before RSR) who do not. Doing this affects the cost of the project. Not doing it can cost you everything! Rock Solid Renovations IS "Rock Solid" in dependability, budget and workmanship.

Looking for another contractor

We had used Rock Solid many years ago to replace the wall in our walk out basement so was familiar with Shannon's work from then. Again they did an excellent job and left the job site cleaner than it was when they started.

The owners of the company were very helpful & informative. I would have hired them but needed to put the job on hold due to financial difficulties.

They did excellent work. The workmanship was excellent. The crew was very professional. They were competitive with the pricing. They used quality materials.
