Warning!! Don't Do It!! Wish I'd known. My refrigerator started making a noise. A "friend" suggested this company to me. The man came out and without troubleshooting anything said he knew what the sound he heard was. He ordered a part and came back later and changed it out. That incorrect guess cost me $100 in addition to a $100 trip charge. 2 hours after he left...taking my used part with him without my permission probably to resell or reuse...the noise reappeared. To his credit, after I called them again, he did come back and this time actually did some troubleshooting in the back of the frig, where he found a schematic, and actually looked at it. He was here 45 min but no noise appeared....although he'd heard the noise the first time he was here. It's a simple frig..he even said there are only a few things it can be. I said, "What do we do..just wait for something else to break as a result?" Yes, he said. I have now made a recording of the sound, which his wife told me to send to her....it sounds like a motor trying to do something. She said she'd call me the next day after he listened to it. Of course, No call! Sidenote: I sent a picture of the schematic and the sound recording to my electrician friend in Illinois and he told me over the phone which part is failing. He said it is very simple and is an easy fix if the guy had done basic troubleshooting. There are only two motors on the schematic and ARS guy replaced the wrong one! You don't just start replacing parts without doing some testing to determine which part is failing. Lazy or incompetent...I don't know. The problem still isn't resolved and I'm $205. in to it. I will post a follow-up. I called a local appliance parts store who knows these repair people in the area and he didn't even know ARS but he said he would suggest a reputable, experienced company (35 years here) with a reputation for doing good work and treating people fairly, honestly, and professionally. BEWARE!!! If I could give this company zero stars, I would. These people have no desire to actually help customers and they continually lie. They have made things up over and over again and give nonsense answers to try to get you off of the phone. Most recently, after trying to get them to fix their issue for 3 months now, they called me and yelled at me over the phone that they would not be fixing our washer and they were DONE. They do like being held accountable for their work. I would NEVER recommend using them for ANYTHING. They are rude, unprofessional, lie and do terrible work. I had a washer lid replaced back in August and it broke again by October. When I called to have it repaired, they were very rude and annoyed that I expected them to hold up their end of the warranty. Since then, it has been a nightmare and my lid is still broken. I am taking further action at this point. The washer is only 2 years old. I have never seen such terrible customer service.

The scheduler does not have any desire to get the work done. I have a Whirlpool washer that is under warranty and the tech came out at the beginning of January. I called them at the end of January to see if they had an ETA and was told it was back-ordered and they would call me(in a very irritated that I had the audacity to call and check up kind of attitude.) and that even after the part came in they had at least a two-week delay in being able to get back out to me. I called again in late February as the part was available direct from whirlpool and was told the same thing as last time. I called Whirlpool to try to get this switched to a differnt service provider, and after about an hour and a half on hold and explaining the situation they put me on hold and called the service provider themselves. When Whirlpool came back on the line they told me since the Appliance Repair Services LLC had the part on order that it would have to stay with them. Fast forward to today, 4/5/2021, when I checked with my local parts distributor who once again told me the part is available and only 3-5 days shipping. I called again and the dispatcher was very rude once again and I told her I can order the part myself and have it here in 5 days tops. She told me to do it then and hung up on me. I called back and was told that calling her on her lunch was not going to make anything better and was hung up on again. She then cancelled the open ticket. That was the best part of my experience with Appliance Repair Services LLC as then I could get this re-scheduled with someone else.

Long story but here we go. Bought a New Washer with a warranty from Whirlpool and started getting an error message after about a month. I called Whirlpool in July 2020 and they opened a ticket with Appliance Repair Service to come take a look. The unit had power & an error message when he first came to look. Upon leaving after first look, the unit no longer had any power, he left it worse than when he came. I was told repeatedly that they were awaiting parts they had ordered from Whirlpool to arrive. I'm glad I didn't take their word for it because when I called Whirlpool on November 17, 2020 no parts had been ordered on my ticket. Whirlpool contacted Appliance Repair Service and finally got the parts order on November 20th, 2020. Fast forward to January 29th, 2021 Appliance Repair Service showed up with parts (never called first to make appointment, literally just showed up) and got the power restored to the unit and then left. Still not working, still has the error. We called the office number and they said they would order some more parts. Fast forward again to today, February 24,2021 I called Whirlpool again.... Appliance Repair Service marked my ticket as completed and got their check from Whirlpool as they said the unit was fixed. Now I have to start all over after 7 months later.

My mother had used this company previously & had talked with the man regarding work that she wanted done at my house. He explained that at times, he has to get in crawl spaces to access the vent/ducts, which is the case at my home, so she new that he could do the job. She then scheduled an appointment, over a week in advance, to have my dryer duct cleaned. When she made the appointment, she was told that someone would call me first thing that morning to give me the time frame of when the work would be done. The date arrived, & by 10:30am no one had called, so my mother called to ensure that they had my correct number, but she was only able to leave a voicemail. By 12:40pm, I called because I had still heard nothing, & the lady stated that she would call me back. At 2:00pm I still had heard nothing back, so my mom called again (since she was the one who made the appointment), & the lady rudely told her that she didn't know when or if he would make it today, & they might need to come tomorrow. We made the appointment for the day that we did because we will not be home the following day. After continuing to be rude to my mom, the lady called me & said that he would come between 5-6:00pm. I asked how he would see what he was doing because it would be dark & the response I got was "I don't know" & "he doesn't do crawl spaces anyway". I explained that he had told my mother that he did, so she put me on hold, & when I stated to my mom that I was on hold, the lady came back on the line & said rudely "you're on hold but I can still hear you". I told her that I wasn't saying anything that I needed to hide from her, & she then put me on hold again. She then came back & said that her husband didn't remember what had been said to my mom. So he runs a business but can't remember what he can & can't do?! Seems like a scam to me, & his wife that does the scheduling is horribly rude, & doesn't know how to set & keep appointments!! I will never recommend them to anyone!

The upper icemaker stopped working in my new (less than 6 months old) refrigerator. I scheduled service with this company through the manufacturer. The first available apppint was 1 week later and I took it. The service technician arrived during the scheduled time, troubleshot the unit, determined which part was defective and said he would order it and left. I've called once per week since then to check on the status of the part. The female who answers the phone has no information to provide, promises she'll call back in 30 mintues and has not called back yet. Since the service person was here the lower icemaker has stopped working and I'm still waiting for a return call, repair, something. I would avoid this business at all costs.

Perfect! ARS is the best company ever to use for any home repair service you need! I have used them for 8 years, and they are always my first phone call!
Description of Work: I had an "emergency" need for ARS to look at my broken washing machine, because I am in elder care mode and trying to keep my aged mother out of the nursing home. They came out the same day, and told me that the washer had "died" and only charged $45 for that call. They are a FANTASTIC company to do business with. I give them my highest recommendation!

I called on a Tuesday and got price estimates and set up an appointment for the owner to come out Thursday morning from 9am to noon. I was told I would be called Thursday morning and told an hour window. I had to call Thursday morning to ask when they thought he would be out. The woman that answered said the owner was out of town and did not have reception and was not answering his phone but she would call me when she talked to him. I called back 45 minutes later and was told she called him and left a message and texted but he did not respond and that she would call when she talked to him. This was at 10am. I finally called back at at 2 pm a few times from my phone and it went to an answering machine. I finally tried from my husbands phone and what do you know? She answered. I identified myself and said "I just want to find out what is going on". She then hung up on me. I called a few more times with no answer. This is the most unprofessional business that I have ever encountered. I was not rude I just wanted to know what was going on and she hung up on me! Absolutely ridiculous! Do not waste your time on this business! I wasted almost a whole day waiting around on them. How rude and inconsiderate and to think I was going to pay them $250 with parts and labor to fix my dish washer.
Description of Work: Our dish washer needed a new control panel and we called appliance service repair to complete the job as they were referred to us by 2 former customers.
