Quacker's Waterproofing & Basement Repair, LLC

Foundation Repair, Basement Waterproofing, Wells and Pumps,

About us

Quacker's Waterproofing & Basement Repair has been family owned and operated since 2001. No subcontractors or commissioned sales people are used. Cost is determined by the job. Due to our experience installing waterproofing systems, fixing foundations as well as our Radon testing and mitigation experience gives us the skill sets to install Radon resistance waterproofing systems. Most of our competitors don't have this combination of skill sets there before may waterproofing systems that are installed can potentially contribute to elevated radon levels in their customer's home. We can solve most foundation/basement problems as well as improve our clients indoor air quality which is a very high priority for us. It is our commitment and responsibility to insure our customers have healthy homes and we are do nothing to compromise that. We are not tied to or required to use any propriety systems or products that many companies are vested in. We use the systems and products that we feel provide the best solution for our client's problem. For customers who want a more finished look than a normal crack injection, we offer a special surface seal that can be removed from the surface of the wall after a crack is injected leaving only the repaired crack line visible. We can also paint the basement walls to make both crack repairs and carbon fiber repairs much less visible. In addition to radon testing and mitigation we really are positioned to be a one stop shop. There are several brand name products and systems we use on a regular basis. "Fortress Stabilization" carbon fiber wall stabilization products, "Stabilizer" top and bottom adjustable I-beam brackets used with vertical I-beams for wall stabilization, and "Kryton" crystalline waterproofing products used when crack injection and other waterproofing methods will not be effective, We also use "RadonAway" radon mitigation fans for all of our radon mitigation system installation. Due to our experience repairing foundation wall cracks many times we can provide an accurate repair price over the phone with just a good discription from the client or a clear picture of the crack.

Communication from the owner,Jim, was excellent. We exchanged e-mails and spoke on the phone prior to the job. His technician,Matt, showed up on time. There was no bait and switch or pressure to broaden the job that I requested. Matt explained the process and what I should expect as a result(a dry basement). It was a great experience and I sincerely recommend them to anybody that has a cracked foundation.

Quacker's Waterproofing & Basement Repair, LLC is a great honest team. I had a block foundation for which the epoxy crack injection doesn't work. So this big deal service was not needed. This was explained and I appreciate their honest approach. They even recommended other products I can do as a homeowner to fix the cracks.

It went well. Quacker's and I originally had trouble getting this scheduled. They kept calling me when no one was home and leaving messages saying they would call back but always did when we weren't home. They never left a number where I could call them. But that was just a few days. When we did make the appointment they were available the next day. Matt, the technician showed up as scheduled and was friendly and willing to explain what he was doing and how it was going to work. He did a thorough job and I'm confident that the crack is sealed as Matt pointed out the material as it exited the crack every step of the way. I'm very happy with the work and am elated at the price I paid. I would have been happy with the work and the price if I had paid the normal price $350 given the effort that Matt put into this.
Description of Work: Sealed a 1/4 In 8 ft vertical crack in basement wall with polyurethane injection. This was purchased under an Angie's List Big Deal and the price was about 60% of the normal rate.

They were really responsive in viewing our basement. Two workers showed up and reported the work was a one day job and easy fix. As they left they said they would try to get us an estimate that night but if not it would only be a couple days (weekend in between). A week later we called, and they responded in an acceptable manner of time with an apology that they has simply overlooked it. They said we would have an estimate within 2-3 days. Three days later we called again, they didn't reply. We were set to go with them, their workmen were nice and seemed to know what they were talking about. I had asked how long before they could do the work and they said they were only 2 weeks out. We were disappointed. And now we have gone with someone else.
Description of Work: Looked at our basement, we have one crack in the foundation wall and a crack in the flooring. We discussed installing a sump pump. They would break through the concrete floor to install, place some piping to the the pump, then replace the concrete.

The owner took the order over the phone....a few days later the technician came out and filled in the cracks. We paid upon completion and the tech gave us a receipt and said the warranty paperwork would be sent within 24 hours. After 1 week of not receiving warranty, I called and left a message on the company voice mail....still no response so I called again 2 weeks later, spoke to owner he said he was on vacation and would email it right away. Never received anything. tried calling again August 2013 and talked to the owner again and gave him my email address again and he said he would send it immediately. the next day I called because I did not receive warranty and left a message on voice mail.....no response. I called again the next day and left a message and still no response. I then called the BBB and explained the complaint....and if you could have seen the response, it was unbelievable. Stating that he emailed it to me on the same date I filed the BBB complaint. emailed was never received. he also stated that he had a family emergency the rest of the time (the year) I was calling requesting the warranty and the emergency took 100% of his time. Don't get me wrong, if you have a family emergency, family comes first. Why would you not have someone else handle your business and for goodness sake its only an email.....how long does that take. Anyway I still have never received the warranty and why as a business owner wouldn't it dawn on him just to stick the warranty in the U.S. mail???? I would NOT recommend this company to anyone! **Again continually using the bad email address for 1 1/2 years is ridiculous considering you could have sent it regular mail, it's not like you don't have that address either! I am a real estate agent and have been sure to share this info w/all of the real estate offices in the area.

While tearing off an old deck in preparation for a new patio, we discovered a crack in our foundation. On the advice of our concrete contractor as well as reviews on Angie's List, we called Quacker's Waterproofing. I explained the problem to owner Jim Hudson. He came out the next day, inspected the crack and recommended a seal/injection process. The following day the repair was accomplished. The folks at Quacker's were polite, timely and professional. We would heartily recommend them for all your foundation repair needs.

We decided to go with a different company as I was looking for epoxy injection. But I very much appreciate the candid information and professionalism Jim provided.

I was selling the house and since the date came and went for me to close with the new owner of the home that I sold it to, the arrangement was that I pay for the fee in closing and they engaged him to do the waterproofing but I think their experience went fine. After I had handed over the fee for that service to them, I'm not aware of how the job was actually carried out but the experience I had up until that time was all positive and I believe things went according to plan or I would've heard about it from my realtor. They were fine and dealing with them on the phone, I had no problems at all. They were good.

I called Quackers because I thought I might have a foundation issue. I spoke to Jim Hudson. It went well. I called and Jim showed up to give me an estimate. He was very nice and gave practical solutions. This was one of three estimates I received and we went with Quacker's because of a fair price and honest assessment. Also, when I called the person who did our home inspection five years ago and described three different estimates to him, he said he suggested Quacker's and that is who he usually recommends. On the scheduled date the work was performed well and everything was explained to me afterwards and everything was cleaned up.

Their technician arrived at the appointed time and completed sealing the crack (inside and outside) in a timely manner and was very polite and professional. We have had several heavy rain events since the crack was sealed and have not had any leaks. The only minor problem I had was not receiving a warranty for the work done in a timely manner. I had to make several calls before I received a call from the manager apologizing for the oversight and promising that I would receive the warranty. I am very pleased with the work that was done and would use this company again.

The work hasn't been performed yet. I'll modify this review accordingly once the work has been completed
Description of Work: An associate of The Crack Team met my real estate agent at my future home (fingers crossed!) to give an estimate on a foundation crack. The crack was described as the result of moisture accessing a piece of re barb which created rust and, thus, expanded within the foundation which caused the horizontal crack (visible both from the basement and outside in the garage). While both companies came to this conclusion, only one of them won our business. The Foundation Doctor quoted us $725 to use an epoxy to address the crack and then seal it from any further potential damage. The Crack Team quoted us $450 to do the same work as The Foundation Doctor, but they also agreed to handle the additional cracks that were present in the garage. The foundation crack is ~10-12 feet in length while the remaining cracks are an additional 10-12 feet. For another couple hundred dollars, The Crack Team also offered to use a 'staple' of sorts to further safe-proof the foundation from shifting in the future. This seemed like a no-brainer to me! While I haven't told them yet (until right now), I'll be using The Crack Team to fix my foundation.

I called and left a message a few days ago saying I was looking for a professional foundation repair. I was contacted back the same day and scheduled a convenient time for someone to come out and fix the crack. They were right on time, and the job only took about an hour (as promised). The work looks great! The technician was professional in every way. I asked some questions about the repair process, and he was happy to take a few moments to explain to me what was being done, and how the process works. I would definately recommend CrackTeam-Missouri to anyone. Thanks!

I have reviewed all of the leads coming through our website for the past month and have no record of any emails from this home owner. I have also checked our phone log and did not find any phone messages from her. She lives in a zip code I don't cover. It is very possible she was calling the 866-crackteam phone and emailing through a similar web site. We have no affiliation with this phone number, website, or The Crack Team. We have clients tell us on a rather routine basis they have tried calling this number several times and never get called back. This makes us look bad, upsets potential customers and makes people who refer potential clients look very bad. I had a customer 2/11/12 that had exactly the same problem as the member, lucky for us his real estate agent notified us and we were able to salvage the customer and get his work scheduled for 2/13/12. Unfortunately we have no control over this very bad situation or the number of potential clients we loose because they call the 866 number, get furstrated and go somewhere else. I would call the member and explain but I have no contact information for her.

We ask every customer a series of questions to help us understand the clients problem better. The questions we asked of this lady were not any different than the questions we ask everyone. We believe that qualifiing a customers problem as best we can is the best way we can determine if their problem is something we can even help them with. Most people appreciate this.

Repair person called and said he was running ahead of schedule and asked if o.k. to come sooner, which was agreed to. He spent approximately 3-4 hours on the job, The wall was pretty ugly to start with, and after the job was completed it did not look too much better, but how good are foundations supposed to look? I was asked to provide a step ladder since his was missing from his truck, which I did, and the workman did clean up the debris off the floor, however it was up to me to remove the injected foam that leaked out onto the interior of the basement, which was no big deal. I am ambivalent about the job. I know from doing some online research that I could have bought an equivalent product and applied it myself for much less, though I do not know how effective it would be. Although I felt the quoted price to be excessive, I did not ask for, or was offered any discount, and was told that because of this situation no guarantee is offered. The repairman did say to call if there were further problems. If we no longer experience water or camel crickets entering our house through this wall we will be satisfied.
