 + -1 moreWorking with this company was so easy. They even text! I have a very busy schedule and not only did they get us in within days, they were fairly priced and very nice. I was concerned they would cancel due to the weather/rain but they confirmed that they work through the drizzle - and they did! 14 sections (that weren't all together), the grill and mower were gone in about an hour. I would highly recommend them and use them again ourselves!

We had about 10 more square feet of space and a better looking basement. Both Bart and Jeff were very polite and very business like. I sure would use them again and suggest their services to anyone.

 + -1 moreI found St Charles Junk on Angies list after my husband had a big name outfit haul away a queen size mattress and box spring from my inlaws for $218 which was ridiculous. He did that without thinking to ask me to find someone on Angie's List. When we need stuffed removed I found St Charles Junk on the list and they had good reviews. Bart quoted me 100 to removed a king size wood headboard, an old medal desk, a heavy wrought iron and wood garden bench and some old rubber tubing. We added a medal credenza on the day of the move and he charged me $15 more for that. I think his prices are very reasonable. He was on time, pleasant and efficient. We would definitely use them again.

 + -1 moreI did my best to outline all of the items I had, but of course, as I was getting everything together, I found a few other things and some things I mentioned we left off. I probably added more than I took off, though. He came and looked through the items and stuck to the original bid, even though I had a few more items. He was very punctual and professional. Would certainly use them again. I rated the price a B. It's not bad, but excellent would be something less than I expected. It's about what I'd expect, and I'd consider it fair for the amount of work.
Description of Work: Had to clean out a lot of junk from the house, including old bbq gril, treadmill, paint cans, computer equipment and a ton of other stuff.

 + -1 moreSt. Charles Junk was excellent in every respect. They answered my inquiry call immediately, gave me an estimate for the work and arranged to be here the next morning. They arrived well within the time frame promised and adjusted the price upward by $5, which I felt was very fair, a since the log holder was larger than the estimated size I had given them. In 30 minutes, they completed the work and were on their way. They were courteous and professional throughout. I would certainly use their service again.
Description of Work: St. Charles junk removed a very large iron log holder filled with logs. it had tipped up out of the ground overnight and was leaning against a tree; some of the logs had fallen to the ground. We hadn't used logs in years, so we decided to have the holder and the logs removed.

Description of Work: "St. Charles Junk" came out today and hauled away a treadmill that was industrial sized, and weighed about a half ton(or near that), from my up stairs condo!! I am so impressed with every single aspect of their services!! From the phone call which the owner answered himself every time, no phone tag; the ON TIME ARRIVAL(who gets that anymore?!), the professionalism, and the team work it took for those men to move that massive thing out of here. Cost was well below the other companies also listed on Angie's list. And they did give me a discount for finding them here. Cool! I have to say that what sold me-honestly, just calling a phone number and not hearing an automated person or answering machine. Bart(owner) picked up the phone personally and arranged a time that worked FOR ME, not just him :) FIVE STARS!! THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR SERVICES!!! I will be using them in the future and of course recommending them to anyone needing "JUNK" hauled away.

 + -1 moreSt Charles Junk went far and beyond what I had expected. They cleaned out a lot of junk that was in my basement. I am 69 years old and my daughter had a car in the driveway that had to be moved into the garage. The two guys took mercy on me and pushed it into my garage for me so I wouldn't get fined as an act of charity ... no charge!! I have NEVER had that done for me without charge by any vendor before in my life.

 + -1 moreReceived a call from Bart that they were running around an hour late. He ended up calling again and they were only half an hour late. They got right to work removing items and frequently checking with me that they were only taking the things I wanted removed. They removed several bulky things from the basement with no problem. They removed the hammock stand from my back patio. The rest of the items were in the garage which provided easier access for them. I had more items than I originally thought when I received the phone estimate of $165 from Bart. He re-quoted $210 and then took 10% off for the Angie's List discount of which I was unaware. They did a great job and I would highly recommend them to family and friends. I will use them again in the future.
Description of Work: Removed 2 25" tube TV's, a small safe, over the stove microwave oven, approx. 15 landscape stones, approx. 6 various sizes of plywood, 4 yard waste bags, several bags of landscape rock, ice melt, etc., a hammock stand, a lot of various chemicals (stain, paint, caulk, etc.), and various other assorted items.

 + 0 moreThe team showed up right on schedule. I stayed for most of the job in case there were any problems. I only had a few questions that they answered clearly and completely. T they started the job and before I knew it half of the wall was torn down. They finished up the wall tear-down and started pulling out the carpet and all staples. They swept up all of the staples and debris, loaded up their truck and all was done. Faster than I expected. I was amazed at how fast and efficient they were!! These guys really know what they're doing. Did I mention how reasonable their price was, WOW!! I can't wait to use them again for my next project, I highly recommend St Charles Junk for demo and removal work!!

 + 0 moreThis is an alternative to an overpriced dumpster. Worth the phone call. They make an honest recommendation of what you need for the job, rather than trying to "sell up" like so many companies.
Description of Work: Had used this company a few years ago to pick up some items left after "spring cleaning." They were very reasonable then, so I was happy to use them again. In this case needed a dumpster for a major project for several days. After telling them what I would be doing, they recommended a 16 yd container at $250 for up to 5 days. The price offered was significantly less than most dumpster companies charge for a 10yd container. Unlike a regular dumpster this was not ground level, it was a trailer, but was still easy to load with what we had and was perfect for the job. We were just a little out of their service area, but they were still able to take the job. They were able to schedule with little notice and arrived within the time scheduled. Very courteous & helpful both times I've used them, and much more reasonable than a regular dumpster service. Strongly recommend this service both for hauling or dumpster trailer.

 + -1 moreI called on Friday with the list of items mentioned above for removal. As I read off my list I was given an approx cost and the total cost of $175.00. Bart told me that if I was interested they could come by on Monday between 9:00 - 10:00 am to take a look and confirm the price and haul it away. They arrived on Monday during the time frame indicated confirmed the price previously stated and gave me the 10% Angies discount. The process was very painless and extremely efficient since I had a list of the items and the sizes when I placed the call. They were very professional, arrived during the time frame indicated and removed everything. I will definitely use them again in the future.
Description of Work: Hauled away a Rubbermaid storage shed 70x55x48 (which needed to be taken apart). Removed the following from my basement: 30" old/heavy TV, toilet, 3 pieces of workout equipment, old bottom kitchen cabinet. In addition I needed lumber and other items including an old tent removed from the rafters in my garage.

 + -1 moreThey came within 90 minutes of my call. They introduced themselves, clarified what was to go (I had cleaned out my garage and downstairs, so some additional items were still in driveway. They had given me an estimate over the phone, and stuck to it. They carefully loaded the materials, and secured them. I wrote them a check for $80. In a few minutes they came to the door again to give me $8.00 back since they had forgotten to discount 10% as an Angie's list member. They could have driven off and I'd been none the wiser.
Description of Work: picked up an old couch, futon, lawn mower and chain link fence panel.

 + -1 moreBart answered phone & we set up a time to meet for an estimate-Answered all my questions in a professional manner.Had some scheduling problems on both our sides.Finally met at my house.Had one pile of junk inside & one pile outside.He was unable to take at that time-Jeff suggested they move the inside pile to the outside-that way they could pick up without needing inside access.2 days later all was removed including my 2 cans that I wanted.Bart said he would replace them & he did so in a timely fashion.Staying in communication w/updates.He seemed to be more concerned about my cans than his payment.In fact one replacement can was in better condition than the original.Bart & Jeff are professional contractors who "UNDER PROMISE & OVER DELIVER" a proven formula for a successful business & satisfied customers.

 + 0 moreWe scheduled the dumpster for Monday through Friday rental. Tthey called to say they were having trouble with a truck and would be there later. Since it was going to snow I told them we could wait until the next day. They came on Tuesday and let us keep the dumpster until Saturday. They were very nice both on the phone and in person.
Description of Work: We hired St. Charles Junk to furnish a dumpster. We are moving our office and had much more to discard than we could put in the usual trash. They provided us with a 15 yard container on wheels which was more than adequate. We were able to walk into the container which you cannot do with a regular dumpster. Both Bart and Jeff were very pleasant and I would definitely use them again.
