Hoff Heating & Air Conditioning

We were very pleased with the service we received from Hoff Heating & A/C, from estimate to installation. The only glitch we had was when the original A/C unit they brought quit working within minutes of installation. Fortunately, they had one more unit like ours at their warehouse. Unfortunately, it was 105 degrees that day and their warehouse was an hour drive from our home, leaving us without A/C for another 2 hours, at least! Hoff sent an employee from their office on the road with the new unit to meet one of our installers half way. Once installed, the new unit worked great.

I knew that we had a slow leak in our ac unit. I had wanted Hoff to check for that. The man that came to my house said no need to do that, might as well get a new unit. He was supposed to call before he came, he did not. I paid the bill, $459.00, and he left . When I looked on the bill, it said that I refused the service to check for the leak. That was a total lie. I called the company to let them know this. They had to call, of course, their "dude" to check out the story. Then they called back and told me his side of the story. I told them it was a lie and not to worry about it. Just another case of a widow being taken advantage of. I have it repaired correctly now. If someone needs an ac man that will take the time to explain everything to you and not take advantage of you, call DAN BALLIEU. He is great!!!

Air conditioning went out at approximately 3:00 am. We called Hoff Heating and Air Conditioning at 8:30 am. The high temperature today was going to be in the mid 90's so we wanted someone to come out as soon as possible. They gave us a time frame of noon to 4:00 pm same day. I was very pleased. Then they showed up at 10:30 am... needless to say, I was extremely pleased. The technician's name was Bill and he had the condenser replaced and the air back on in less than 30 minutes!!

I asked three companies to come and bid on this project...each of them selling a different HVAC vendor. I probably took somewhere between 25 - 35 hours researching this project over several weeks before I made a decision. I am a tough sale...polite but firm. Even though another vendor was lower in price (by $1500), I decided to go with Hoff Heating because of several factors. (we put in a 5 ton unit) I asked the sales manager Denny after the initial bid to see if there was a way to lower the pricing. I asked him if there was a way to get more validation for the Lennox products they sold. I was unfamiliar with them. He took the time to get his Territory Manager out to my home so I could have more confidence in their company and product. The TM Rob was very nice and answered all my questions. He came up with an idea on another unit at that time which had a substantial rebate. So, Denny rebid the project with a better furnace unit and better condenser (the Signature Series line) and our net cost after the rebate along with the Laclede Gas rebate turned out to be $9800.00. I also went to their office to pay for the bill the day before and Denny took the time to give me a tour. It is quite an operation. Their facility is truly set up very professionally and it was apparent their were doing substantial volume and were outfitted to handle anything that came along in the HVAC world. The unit was installed the next day and it took them all day. They removed everything and did not destroy our home in the process. Sheet metal can really leave a scar if workers are not careful. They put in the new unit, overcame obstacles, and cleaned up after themselves. When we go to replace our 2.5 ton unit - we are surely going to use them. Since we purchased a 2 stage unit with variable speed, we are expecting that over time we will experience savings in our gas and electric bills. Utility company costs will only go up in the future so we took the plunge to go the extra mile and get an upgraded unit knowing that and we are banking on the 100 year name of Dave Lennox. Thank you for taking the extra time and going the extra mile to take care of us as a customer for life. I will be referring my entire network to this company.

It took two days to get an appointment because it suddenly turned hot here in St. Louis. The appointment was made for Saturday between 10-2 PM. They came and did the work. I never got a call from the technicians but did get a call from the tenants saying the air was working again. Took two days to get a report on what work was done but the technicians were extremely busy restoring air to people who needed it. I thought the office staff I dealt with did a good job of keeping me informed.

Called prior to coming as promised. Arrived on time. Technician Jim arrived in uniform, very clean and took a care to keep my home clean. He was VERY professional. Reviewed my entire system. I was prepared to be told that I needed a new AC unit. After Jim's thorough review he suggested my system was working properly with no loss of freon from the previous year. He replaced and rerouted a few wires inside the unit to avoid problmatic issues down the road. Communicated very well. Did not feel I needed a new system at this time. Had been told by others multiple times that I needed a new system You can trust Hoff Heating and Cooling. Highly recommend this company!

The electric in our neighborhood had gone out for over an hour. By the time the electric was restored, the house was down to 67 degrees.(burrr) The furnace then ran for 4 hours and the temp had only gone up by one degree. My husband checked all the fuses & breakers etc. Finding nothing wrong, at 3:00 we called Hoff Heating & A/C. They were very nice and checked the schedule while I was on the phone. They said someone would be here by 5:00. By 4:00 they were here. After checking the basics like the filter, he only took a few minutes to find the sequencer in our furnace was out. The furnace had been trying to heat our house with only one burner instead of all three. He replace the sequencer and the heat was back up to regular temp within 1/2 hour. (ah..toasty) The sequencer was a bit expensive, but some are. The part was 148.00 and the diagnosis & call was 78.00. Totaling 220.00. With my Angie's List coupon for them, the total was 205.00. I highly recommend Hoff Heating and A/C. They are my first choice for HVAC.

We live in Northern Virginia and own this house in Wentzville, Missouir, which our son rents and lives in. He is deaf which makes getting service more difficult at times. We needed to establish a relationship with a cmpany in the area with whom we could establish a relationship so that if there were heating or A/C issues we could call or email them from our home. The work Hoff has done for us has been very good and they have responded quickly. We have had good service from them and established the kind of relationship we sought.

Each time they've been out they've been really, really good. They walk me through what they're doing & why they do it. The tell me what the problem is & why we have it & give great advice for avoiding issues in the future. I don't know anything about furnaces & they help me understand.

We initially used them to install a whole home humidifier and they did a great job. We would have liked to have used them to do our furnace / a/c replacement but the financing was an issue for us. I would absolutely recommend them to anyone for service or installations.

Each time they out they explained everything that was going on. The third time they came out they saved me about $600 by telling me that one of the parts I had was under warranty. I have no complaints at all and I will most definitely use them again.

Heard AC outdoor unit laboring last night. Turned UP the temp inside in order to take some pressure off of the unit for a while. Cleaned the unit this morning in hopes it would run smoother.. Turn the AC on and no fan outside on the unit plus.. now I saw smoke rising from the unit. Quickly turned off everything. Worked previously with a different service company for many years. Had previous bad experience with this local big advertiser heating and cooling co. Lost confidence in them because every time they came out to my house or my mom's place ( in their green trucks).. they tried to sell us on a new system. It has been 5 years since they had told me my system "had" to be replaced. I left them for a local individual.. I always felt like I did need to have a relationship with a real company. Found Hoff on Angie's List and gave them a call.. They came out within 60 minutes. The technician Bill was very professional and listened to my explanation of what was happening. He looked at our unit and immediately saw a part that needed to be replaced. Bill replaced the capacitor and the system in now running great again.. I can't help but think the guys in the green trucks would have tried again to sell a new unit. I asked about the smoke I had seen earlier. This would have been a perfect opportunity for someone to try to sell a new unit.. But Bill said he thought that was just steam from the cleaning I had just completed. Bill tested the overall system and felt this minimal repair would get us back into great shape.. Total bill $171.00. Hoff has a new customer.. and I have already told 10 people about my experience.. Great job! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

It's was Friday 1:00 pm and another HOT day when I notice my AC was blowing warm air. My first thought was panic as the weekend is coming and I don't want do go thru it with no AC. I'm afraid I'll need an emergency or after hours repair and they are so expensive. Then I remembered I used Hoff Heating & AC last year and they did great. I checked them out on Angie's List and they had a 5% coupon too. I called Hoff around 1:15 and was amazed to hear they would be out before 5:00. I thought I was lucky just to have them out the same day, but I was totally thrilled when he showed up in 2 hours. After a few items were checked, he found the power connector block was bad due to ants. I know that sounds crazy, but it's true. He said he has had several of these types of repairs lately. He replaced the connector and we were cooling down again. He also checked my freon level as that's what was low last year and found it to be just fine. The total price was $175.00 for parts, call & labor, but with my coupon it was only $166.00. I VERY HIGHLY recommend Hoff Heating & AC. They are quick, courteous, and don't try to up-sell you. I will eventually need a new HVAC system and they will be my first call. Thank you Hoff Heating & AC and thank you Angie's List.

Exceptionally Great start to finish. Completed the work as promised. Both the systems are working great...Saving money every month because of high efficiency units.

Overall, a very pleasant experience. The tech took the time to explain to my wife what was wrong, what was needed, and how he fixed it. He was very professional and experienced.

Our heating and air unit started making loud noises right before Christmas that sounded similar to what it had done in late spring. A technician came out and said that a few parts needed to be replaced because they were worn down. The parts had to be ordered. The heater actually gave out the night before the technician came and replaced the parts and told us that everything was under warranty. We have been pleased with the professional attitude that all of the technicians have.
