+ -1 moreI use him all the time that I can get him. He is a very busy person. You have to call him like three months ahead of time just to even get him to come to the house to get a bid. He had some very good workers. They were very respectful. They were polite. I would recommend them because the owner comes to your house. He walks the perimeter of your yard. He takes notes on what you want done. He goes back to his office, he always sends me a copy of his insurance, what kind of liability he has on his workers, should something happen on your property. He always gets back with me with an estimate. Like I said I never had any problem with TJ service ever. If I don't like something that's gone on, on my property that one of the boys has done I always go to him. His first name is Tony Brown. I always tell Tony well this happen but it's not my place to say anything with the boys, but since your the own maybe you should discuss this with them. He has been in the business for a long time. He is very knowledgeable. They clean up after themselves. They make sure they don't leave any trash.

If they do an exceptional job which those kids did, they were respectful, they were polite, the showed up on time, they picked up the yard and all that kind of stuff. I always give a bonus. I gave each of those kids $75 because they deserved it. Tony has always been an upfront honest person. He doesn't tell you one quote and change it half way through the process. He stays with the quote.
Description of Work: I received a quote to clean the brush piles, the draining, clean the yard and cut a tree.

Description of Work: Amount t of service cost is not accurate because HOA paid for service and I'm not sure if total cost.....Service was provided by our HOA and to tree service did a terrible job as if they don't have a clue as too trim Tree's, we have/had a about 25 ft tall over 10 years through many many storms and never once had a issue.. we inspected tree that was not even apologized by us through our HOA anyhow upon inspection the tree wAs green completely uneven and had branches that were in perfect condition that had been taken off, we had one huge branch off east side off tree and he cut off about four limbs on the north side of the tree that blocked the main limb on east side and the branches that had been cut acted as a shield to prevent the Main east limb from taking direct wind.... branches cut off up to 9/11 feet high that had no reason to be trimmed.. the next LIGHT WIND STORM took our main east branch off that had been through many many worst storms without any problem... as of now there are three additional trees throughout the subdivisions have also split with down branches..... if you have sense at all please look into other options, rest assured you'll see more negative reviews regarding his tree trimming service!!! Especially a tree company that believes it's healthy to trim evergreen branches up to five feet from the base!!!

+ -1 moreOwner came out and gave me an onsite estimate first and an estimated date for removal. Then he mailed me a copy of his insurance coverage to show me he was insured. His team came out on a Saturday, removed the tree and was gone in less than 2 hours. Our agreement was he would bring the tree to the ground and I would take it from there.
Description of Work: Removed a tree that was leaning over my barn.

+ -1 moreWe have used TJs before. They did the same quality work. The only difference this time is it took about a week to get a call back. Then, although scheduled to be done in the morning, they showed up after 1:00. Still happy with the work and price, and would use them again.
Description of Work: Trimmed tree branches that had grown over the house. When they were finished, they removed all of the trimmings.

+ -1 moreTony returned my call promptly. He came out and gave an estimate that was very reasonable. He also included a 10% discount when I told him it was for my mom who is 91 years old. Due to the rain, he indicated they would be out the following week. But, he surprised us today (Sunday) by coming with a crew of guys. They were super fast, cleaned up all of the debris and did a great job. If there are any other tree related jobs in the future, I will definitely hire them again. For these reasons, I highly recommend TJs for any tree service.
Description of Work: A 50 feet tree had fallen in my mom's backyard. They cut it into small pieces and removed the debris.

+ 0 moreThis is the third time I have used this company and I have always been pleased with their work. They are polite, work hard, and clean up everything before they leave. Their prices are very reasonable for the amount of work they do. I did have a bit of an issue this time in setting up the appointments, but the guy I worked with initially is no longer with the company. After that, everything was fine and they were here in 2 days.
Description of Work: Cut down two small trees, trimmed 2 large trees, round out 5 stumps, and trimmed about 20 shrubs.

+ -1 moreCalled Tony after a tree limb had fallen in our yard after a storm that day. He was able to get out to give me an estimate within about 45 minutes. The estimate was reasonable and he said they were about 3 weeks out on tree trimming but they would be able to get the damaged limb out of the way quickly in the meantime. The following Monday I left a message that we did want to go with his estimate. Two days later I received proof of insurance in the mail just as he had promised during the estimate. I received a call from him that Friday that they would be out-they removed the limb and got all the trees done that day as well. It was very nice not having to wait the 3 weeks. Tony was very professional and courteous. He offered us advice on what to plant in that tree's place that would be less vulnerable to storm damage while still fitting in with our neighborhood. Once the trees were trimmed, I was easily able to point out an additional branch I wanted removed and it was done just how I had asked. The trees look great! I will absolutely hire TJ's Tree service again when it's time for the next round of tree trimming.
Description of Work: Trimmed 4 Bradford Pear trees. removed storm damaged tree, ground stump, cut for firewood.

The worked me in quickly and had it removed in a matter of hours. They left everything clean and clear. Great service!

+ -1 moreI have used this company before and am very pleased with their work. The trees they removed were very large, probably 30-40 feet tall. They accomplished all the work in just a few days and cleaned up before they left. I definitely would use this company again.

+ -1 moreBranch trimming and removal was done well. Cleaned up and removed all debris. I expected more to be done in terms of crown thinning, but overall the crew did a nice job. They spent extra time and took extra care not to mess up my freshly stained deck under two of the trees that they trimmed, which was much appreciated.
Description of Work: Trimmed branches of four large pin oaks to provide roof clearance around home.

+ -1 moreHe hasn't come yet, but I have used him in the past. The crew is trained to climb large high trees, they ALWAYS clean up the yard before leaving. The owner Tony always comes & gives me an estimate of how much it will cost, which includes a description of what is to be done. Then Tony has his Insurance company send an Insurance notice in the mail. To tell me that his workers & Company are covered under any liability. Tony tells the owners it is always best to trim trees in the fall or winter, as they will enhance more from the winter snows when they can soak more nutrients back into the ground. People always don't think about this option every one will wait until the summer time when they want their trees cut etc. Since the past 2 years have been so dry & if the owner doesn't water on his own, then the trees can go into to shock if the branches are cut off to soon in the season. No matter who comes to my house from his crew they are ALWAYS polite & professional. I always offer bottled water or Gatorade what ever I have on hand at the moment. It's just the polite thing to do, because that crew is their to do you a service. They are the professionals in that field not me, & you always want them to see the client as a nice home owner.
Description of Work: He will trim all the dead limbs off of the trees over hanging sky lights, trim back limbs that are over the house. Clean out drainage easement on property.

+ -1 moreTJ's did an exceptional job with a very difficult project. I had three very tall very dead trees close to my house. They took the trees down, dug the stump and remove all debris. The cost was very reasonable. The crew worked very carefully and worked well together. They are very busy, but my need was not urgent, so it took a little time to get the work scheduled. IF I have further tree work, I will certainly call this company.
Description of Work: TJ's cut down three very tall very dead trees close to my house. They had to work around the other live trees bunched together, the fact that the trees coming down were the tallest in the area, and my house was about 10" away. They cut the trees, removed the debris and dug out the stump.

+ -1 moreArrived before 8:00 AM and were finished by 1:00 PM. Had plenty of helpers. Used lots of equipment, including a bucket truck and wood shredder. Swept up debris afterwards and used a blower to clean concrete areas. (Also provided proof of insurance).
Description of Work: Removed three big trees, two that were close to house and outbuilding. Very professional work and a thorough clean up afterwards. Quick and safe job at a competitive price. Highly recommended.

They came exactly when they said they would, got right to work, did a great job and cleaned up after themselves thoroughly. I would have no hesitation in hiring them again.

TJ's prices were right in line with the other companies but Tony seemed to have much more knowledge about the trees, how to care for them, what to watch for and what I could do to keep my trees healthy. Because of his knowledge and willingness to share that inforration, I chose his services to do the work. I was not sorry that I chose TJ's. They scheduled the service around my work and showed up exactly as planned. The work was done quickly and they left no mess once they were finished. My yard looks great and I am very pleased with what they did. I would recommend them without hesitation.

Description of Work: TJ's ground 5 tree stumps and cleaned up and leveled all the spots. They did an excellent job of protecting the surrounding landscape, and making sure the small roots and debris were raked out for recycling. We were very pleased with their service and thought they offered a fair price for the work. The individual who performed the work was courteous, personable, and knowledgable and did a nice job of explaining what would be done.

+ 0 moreNone of our work was emergency such a storm damage. Tony estimated job quickly. He worked us into the companies schedule and came when he said. We received outstanding service, no collateral damage, perfect cleanup all for a reasonable price. We will not use anyone else.
Description of Work: This is the third time we have used TJ's in the last 10-15 years. First time his crew took down 3 trees and trimmed 4 trees. Next time they took down a huge tree overhanging house and utility lines. Last time they trimmed 3 trees.
