+ -1 moreHorrible company! The guys performing the work were great but the crazy old lady running the business is a thief and will rob you blind. She stole my Husqvarna chainsaw, Stihl leaf blower and weed eater a storm door and barn type door I built. If that wasn't enough according to the eye witness she then broke into the house and took photos of a lot of things including legal and medical documents marked private and confidential. She thinks police are stupid and will believe anything she tells them. Newsflash the federal judge involved with the documents photographing has been made aware and has her name. The police have seen the photos of her stealing the items so enjoy the outcome. I wouldn't recommend anyone use this company if that nasty woman is involved.
Description of Work: For the little thief to keep her hands off of things that don't belong to her.

+ 0 moreAfter purchasing a deal in September 2014, we received a reply that we'd be contacted in the first two weeks of October as provider claimed it to be too hot to plant in September. So after not hearing from Earthworks as told, we contacted him in the third week of October. He finally got to the seeding by the first or second week of November, then it snowed. When we inquired about this, he said to treat it like a "winter seeding". We suspect the seed died as we are not seeing any new grass yet this spring. He has not returned communication regarding this. Sadly, we will have to find a new provider and pay once again to have our yard done properly.

+ 0 moreThis is basically the same information as I noted in the comments above: The provider went above and beyond what we requested. They removed 20 year old shrubs that had nearly 15 feet balls of roots - no small task! They raised the stones which were bordering our flower beds (we have a large front and back lawn). The stones were sinking into the ground over time since the house was built 20 years ago (we just purchased the house 7 years ago.) They removed extensive shrubbery in the back yard and cleaned up the beds. They installed new edging to keep the mulch and soil from the flower beds away from the sidewalks, they nourished our lawn so that it looked greener and healthier than any lawn on the street! After cleaning out multiple old and overgrown woody shrubs, they created lovely clean new-looking flower beds and planted beautiful new plants which we choose. That is only the beginning. They built up the bases of the seasoned trees in our yard, both front and back. Everyone who walks by our yard in our neighborhood stops and asks who did this lovely job! Our next door neighbor hired them immediately to service one of their homes. Rick is the real deal! Feel free to call us at 417-597-2339 and we can give you more information.

+ 0 morePlease read the above "What did the provider do?" Thank you, Dr. and Mrs. Chris Craig I would like to add that when I rated this service I was completely speaking of the owner (provider).
Description of Work: The provider is one of the most responsible individuals I have ever met. He takes pride in his company and the work performed and I like that. He was unable to do the work himself and had others to maintain our lawn. I called him 2 or 3 times in a 6 month period due to poor performances, but a very timely service was always done. The provider responded immediately and corrected any oversights. We do take issue with Angie's List for misrepresenting their client. Yes they mowed and weed-eated weekly, but pretty much that was it. After calling, the provider he did come and do a fall cleanup of leaves to perfection. The problem is I paid for a full year of service which included 4 X pruning the shrubs, weeding the landscaping and flowerbeds weekly and removing any debris and several other promises that the provider explained were not part of his offer to Angies List. I BELIEVE HIM! We have compromised, but I don't feel cheated by him at all. He will come and do a spring cleanup and pruning and then I WILL HIRE THE PROVIDER, not Angie's List.

Description of Work: They came so late in October that we didn't have time to water the lawn before the weather turned cold. Therefore, we are not sure if the application will help the lawn. If we use them again it will depend how the lawn looks in the Spring.

Description of Work: Over seeded and aererated lawn. Service was performed over and above what was promised. I'm happy with this experience, however, there was a bit of a communication problem. Rick had a family emergency and was caught up in that and understandingly forgot about me. All was solved after I called a couple of times and he has promised to come back in the spring of I have any problems with the grass. I'm sure I will be using him again.

Description of Work: They responded to the email quickly but did not perform the aeration service until I called them after a month of waiting for them to call me as they said they would in the initial email. They did the aeration and over seed the week after I called but it was so late in the season I won't know if the grass will come up until spring. The person who came out was very friendly and explained what he was going to do. There were no extra charges.

Description of Work: I paid for a lawn aeration but for a variety of reasons, Earthworks missed three different appointments to perform the service. By the time they said they were coming, my irrigation system had been turned off, making aeration out of the question. The man I spoke with seemed nice enough and was apologetic, and I'm not interested in being critical; the delays may well have been unavoidable. At this point I just want a refund.

+ -1 moreI contacted Earthworks via their website requesting a quote to do some raking/removal of sweet gum balls in the front yard and to cut and remove some bamboo in the backyard. This is the email response I received from Rick: "I apologize, we are on a month or longer wait for cleanups, landscape and other extra projects. My apologies again, I would suggest looking on Craigslist for the service that you are needing. It will be cheaper for you as well, we charge $110.00 per hour for cleanups and landscaping." Poor way of telling me they didn't want my business and suggested to look elsewhere like Craigslist. Not a satisfactory response. If you don't have the time, resources and/or desire to do the work, then why even mention price in your email? Will not do business with a company that doesn't want my business.

I am disabled and homebound, so he always asks if I need anything, which is nice. I've never taken him up on that offer, but it's nice that he does that. The price is reasonable.
