Everything went smoothly from the start- there was a quick response to the request for a bid, the bid was reasonable, the work started on time and finished when promised. Workers were able to let themselves in and out, and became best friends with the dog, and the work was done professionally and the end result looks great. There was clear communication regarding options for flooring and fixtures and what was included in the basic bed and what would require an additional charge. Overall an outstanding job and will be using them again.

My husband and I had been wanting to finish our unfinished basement since we moved into our new home 4 years ago. This past spring, we decided to do just that, but the issue was finding a good, reliable, trustworthy contractor and company to do the work we wanted done. We actually got Tom Terbrock's company from Angie's List and called him. Of course, he was only one of about 6 or 7 contractors we called for an estimate. Tom was very professional when he came to our house the first time, listening to exactly what we wanted done and understanding that we had a budget we needed to observe. We later found out from my husband's retired union carpenter cousin that Terbrock is a company of long-standing, with a good reputation. Now that the basement is done, my husband and I are EXTREMELY pleased with not only the appearance of our new rooms, but were so impressed with the general workmanship of Tom's crew. The crew was always on time, worked diligently throughout the 6+ week project, asked questions whenever they needed our in-put and always let us know when they were leaving at the end of a workday so that we could lock the door of our walk-out basement. They were polite and very efficient. Tom's web site gave us plenty of options for our bathroom fixtures, flooring, cabinetry. etc. and Tom brought by samples so we could see what we could choose if we had any questions. He was great at keeping us informed during the entire 6-weeks, responding to calls and emails promptly when we needed more information. He also gave us advice when we seemed uncertain about any choice we had to make. Honestly, when we started this project, we were both a little wary about how it might progress and how it might turn out. Tom was absolutely wonderful to work with and made finishing the basement almost too easy for us. We highly recommend Tom Terbrock and his entire crew for any remodeling or refinishing work that homeowners might wish to have done. This is an excellent, trustworthy, hard-working company and I would absolutely employ Tom again in the future should the need arise.

Pretty well. Tom Terbrock was extremely responsive during the process. All in all, they did a very good job but I'm very picky so I can only give a B. This was for the upstairs bath and the new bath walls & tile flooring are spectacular.

Very professional crew-took their time to do a great job and cleaned up after project. Tom was very responsive to our questions via texting. Liked the materials the company chose to use. Affordable but did not skimp on using good quality materials. We were a little confused with final pricing but overall had an excellent experience with Terbrock.

Called company regarding special they were running to finish 300 sq ft of basement ($4999). Asked what the additional cost would be to have permits pulled. Quoted me an additional $2800, when questioned why so high he said they would need to keep the labor "in house". Turns out a permit for the city of OFALLON is $100. What on earth are they skimping on that it would not pass inspection without this outrageous fee? ?

It didn't. It took us 4 calls to their office to get an appointment with the owner to come and look at our deck. Our appointment was for last night at 7PM. [note the contractor usual hours for estimates are from 3PM - 6PM. ] The contractor did not show up nor did he call to cancel. Regarding our bathroom, the contractor sent a proposal (without ever seeing our bathroom or talking to us about what we wanted to do with it) a proposal for $14K. I guess business is so good the contractor doesn't want to waste his time on a $40K job

I purchased the $49 deal offered here on Angie's list, and things did not go as I expected them to. I waited a couple of days expecting to be contacted by the company, and when I did not hear from them I initiated a dialog to get the ball rolling. Once I did that, Tom came out very quickly. He was intelligent and knowledgeable and helped guide us through a possible floor plan. I fully expected to be receiving quality work at a reasonable price in short order, just based on the time he spent at our house. About 5 or 6 days later I received 2 files from him via email. One was a quote for the work and the other was I assume the floor plan. I could not open that file on my home computer. I sent an email requesting that file be sent in another format (like .pdf) but have still not heard back from him. I did eventually get the original file to open on another computer, but it still was not what I expected. I expected to receive a PDF copy of a drawing of the floor plan for my use, not a blurry picture of a computer screen of the floor plan,that does me absolutely no good because I cannot read it. I'm sure it's a tactic to prevent customers from getting a floor plan and then doing the work themselves, however since I actually paid money for it, the product provided me should have been something useable. What I received was not worth the money I spent. I'm pretty sure I could have gotten this free from anyone I requested an estimate from.

Tom Terbrock did a fantastic job both removing an old porch from our house and creating a new three story addition onto our house. They worked with us to develop a solid plan and set a timeline to execute on the plan. Tom was very open to looking at all of the options in the design and helped us decide on the right options for us. While we encountered heavy rain for many days in a row, Tom and his crew worked very hard to get the job done against issues created by the weather. They cleaned up the house as they were working so the large amount of work going on did not inconvience us. They did exactly what they said that they would do and when they said they would do it. Our porch was a sinking mess and now is a three story addition with storage, enclosed deck on the second floor and a nice outside deck on the third floor. I highly recommend Terbrock Construction to anyone doing major remodeling projects. I liked his work so much we are currently engaging him to do another project on our property.

He kept telling me he was more into knocking out walls and rebuilding. I explained to him just what I needed. Then he gave me an estimate and it was confusing what the costs were for. He came out again and gave me another estimate. One of the things he talked about on the estimate was the kitchen. I only wanted him to replace a part of the cabinet and he gave me an estimate for installing all new cabinets. I felt like he just wasn't listening and that he just wanted to do things his way and charge what he wanted to charge.

Terbrock was one of three quotes we got. All the prices were in the same range, and they were very professional and punctual. They replaced multiple ratty layers of flooring with new ceramic tile. Parts of our walls were tiled too, and they did an excellent job of carefully removing cabinets etc, tearing up the old, and installing the new without damaging anything. They really took their time. We have an old kitchen with plaster walls. They measured for each row of tile, and spaced each accordingly, to make the tile bordering the wall look great. Also cut our doors to size so they would fit. They were on time, respectful, professional, on budget.

There were a few bumps in the road but was able to iron them out.

We absolutely love our new bathroom! With a very specific look in mind it became a reality in record time. Tom Terbrock and his amazing colleagues, Brad and Matt, created an absolutely perfect bathroom. My husband and I got a bit carried away with materials and added requests - hence the large price tag.... Tom and Brad and Matt graciously accommodated our requests and whims. The whole job took less than less than three weeks and was finished with every detail completed with care. The experience couldn't have been better!!! After talking about redoing the bathroom for 14 years - we are delighted!

A new all was erected with 2 electrical outlets and 2 existing outlets were fixed. 6 can lights were installed as well. Drywall, insulation and taping were next. Matt and Brad spent 4+ hours sanding the walls and ceiling before priming. I was very impressed with their attention to detail. After painting, the concrete floor was prepped for stain. The first application did not take as expected, so Tom the foreman returned the next day with an accent color to fill in some gaps. This was done free of charge and much appreciated.The floor required 2 coats of sealer, but turned out very nice in the end. On top of that, Matt, who is an electrician informed us that our sump pump was not on its own breaker, so we added that service for a reasonable fee. Now, I must finished the rest of the space, but we are pleased with the work. Update: I realized about a week after the floor was sealed that the ceiling access panel for a shut valve hadn't been installed. I called Tom and he sent Matt over a couple of days later to install it. Now the room is completely done. I highly recommend Terbrock Remodeling and Construction. Great job!

Never provided plans. Unimaginative.

Tom at Terbrock Construction was great to work with throughout the project. John and Brett that actually worked on our bathroom were very professional and prompt and are excellent craftsman! They cleaned up well after each day and especially at the end. All of the materials that they use are high quality and the workmanship is first rate. They did exactly what they said that they would do and when they said they would do it. We started out with the basic "deal" of $4,999 , but knew that we would upgrade some of the materials. Tom was really great at giving us many options and helped us get the bathroom that we wanted and at a price that we could afford. Our bathroom went from needing repairs and being outdated to a very modern look. I highly recommend Terbrock Construction to anyone looking for any home remodeling projects. I would definitely use them again!

Terbrock was professional, timely and extremely responsive. The plans were extremely well done and worth far more than what I was charged.

It eventually turned out alright. I paid $6,000. It started out at $5,000 and there were some additional costs; I knew there would be because I wanted some other work done beyond the description of the work they originally gave me. The job was done as well as could be expected, but there were some glitches. Do I blame them for the glitches? Probably. When I hire a contractor I expect them to take care of everything. There were some things they were unfamiliar with in this area and some things that were unresolved when they got done, but it all got worked out in the end. They did a good job, but there were some issues getting that done. I left town during the time they were working and there were some things that happened while I was out of town that I had absolutely no control over. But I would not have left town if I had known better. There were some things they should have known about that they did not know about, such as they did not know they needed to get a work permit from the City of Hazlewood. That caused them a day or so getting that all squared up. I was out of town being told because they didn't have the permits. Eventually the bathroom was functional, but it was not what I had hoped. I told them up front the timing would be essential because we were going to be out of town. I only dealt with Tom, and did not work with any of the other guys.

Work was done professionally and in a timely manner. Workers were very pleasant and courteous. We are very happy with the results.

I had purchased what I thought I'd need for the job - I was missing a few things that slowed some work down but this was resolved by Terbrock and I just paid for the additional materials they needed to pick up. I was pleased by the quality and quantity of work done. They stayed late on Friday to get the extra things I added done. It was nice to not have to take an additional day off work and get my bathroom back in working order. I am considering using them for a new bathroom installation in a basement.

Tom and Brad showed up on time and knew what needed to be done. Results look great and they were able to complete the work in about 8 hours. Tom is very responsive to emails and questions - appreciate the great work!

Tom gave me ideas on a kitchen remodel and I have hired him to do the remodel job. It will be done after Christmas.

Tom assisted us with the design and then perfectly executed what we had envisioned all within our budget. Tom, his crew and the sub-contractors were all very friendly and professional. They showed up on time every day and always cleaned up the space at the end of the day. We will use Terbrock Remodeling for all of our future projects.

We wanted an extension off the back of our home that would add a laundry room to the 1st floor and a bathroom. They started with the cement foundation out into the back yard. We also knocked a hole in a wall and built steps and a doorway that created a great flow to the entire level. Our contractor brought in a structural inspector that evaluated the support in the basement just below where we were adding the steps because we had to redirect a steel beam to make room for the steps. Everything went perfectly. It was exactly what we wanted. He also installed a heated floor and remodeled our bathroom. We ended up selling the house at a great price. I believe a big part of that was due to Terbrock's craftsmanship and attention to detail. Since we have moved we have also used Terbrock for other jobs and we have always been pleased with the results. I would definitely recommend them.
