My parents had the foundation work done and so we eliminated people based on Angie' List. They were starting to have cracks. Their home is pretty old, 60 years old. They have the big trees around it. It was built on a golf course. Things were starting to affect the foundation plus with the weather shifting, hot cold, it was all over their neighborhood, they have those issues. I thought the service was really good and they did what they said they were going to do. There was just an issue where they they back-filled at the point where they were doing work at the back of the house. We had to get them to come out two or three times because the land settled. They took out a lot of dirt and land. When they filled it back, they didn't use all of that. Of course, it sank. Its kind of a no-brainer. We had to have them come back a couple of times to fix that. When they said they were going to come back, they did. They did something, it was better for a little bit and then it sank again but they came back out. They were very good about that. They came back until it's finally okay.
Description of Work: They did foundation repair and sum pump. They did some expensive foundation repair on my parent's house.

I havent had the work done yet but it will start next week.
Description of Work: I haven't had the work done yet. Just signed the contract today. The representative went under the house on two occasions, came back a 2nd time to explain exactly what and why for the work on the estimate. He gave a quote on everything needed, but did not push me at all. He understood that I needed to start with the most serious needs first. He took pictures of the crawl space and showed it to me on his laptop which really helped me to decide what was most urgent.

Once they came on our dry way they altered the dry way. They broke it. They were horrible to work with. (HEARSAY) They tried to avoid us instead of apologizing. As far as trying to fix our dry way, they were slow.

This member was not our customer but a neighbor of our customer. In the process of fixing the neighbors substantial foundation structural repair a skidloader, essential to the repair, backed up onto a corner of the [Member name removed] drive way. It created a crack across a corner. We offered to do the repair but the [Member name removed] insisted on getting a quote to repair it from their contractor. Once we received the quote we wrote a check in that amount to the [Member name removed] to cover the cost to repair the damage. We are sorry if the [Member name removed] are still upset about the crack but we did offer to repair it and we did cover the cost with a check sent to them within a few weeks of the actual damage.

They were very professional. The estimate was higher than I was hoping for, but they did exactly what they said, on time, with no problems. The final cost was actually a little bit less than the estimate, because they overestimated at the beginning.

It went great. They were on time, courteous, friendly, professional. They did their work quickly and completely and repaired any damage caused in the process (at no extra charge unlike other companies I checked out). When I had some initial issues with a sagging fence and settling dirt as a result of their visit they were out the same day before I got home from work and corrected the problem. I haven't had any problems since/. Oh, and they were from waaay cheaper than Dry Basement (let's just say 5 figures) and didn't try to sell me stuff I didn't need or want.

We were very pleased with this company. Mark Stone came out to give us a bid and answered our many questions. We had several companies come out to bid, and while they all seemed to have different ideas on what to do (we found out our house was unique) and one that didn't even want to touch it, we were very pleased that Mark Stone was confident Foundation Recovery would be able to do the job. We originally were quoted 4 piers but once the work was started it was decided it would be better to add another one on the end of the house; adding an additional $1400 cost, but we agreed as we wanted the foundation repair to be right. All of the crew (with Nick as the Forman) that came out were very friendly, took time to answer our questions as the work was being done and were very hardworking. This also came with a transferable lifetime warranty.

They jack hammered around the outside wall of bedroom and bathroom downstairs, tore out part of the wall between bathroom and bedroom and took out about 2 feet from the floe up of each affected wall. They laid the drains, and dug the hole for the sump in the closet between the bedroom and bathroom. Unfortunately, at some point concrete dust got into the water drain pipes. This caused drainage problems which I noticed 2 days later after they had repaired the walls and laid new concrete and cleaned up the mess. They were very responsive to my call about the drain and sent out a plumber at their expense to fix the problem. I was very satisfied with their work

Salesman was very professional and knowledgeable, until I had questions later. He was hard to reach, and when I did, his answer wasn't great. I had specifically asked about the work done under a concrete slab: How would they remove the concrete? With a saw? His initial answer was "yes," but then he said it depends on the crew. In other words, he didn't know, and should have just said that. My concern about the concrete removal was a non-issue. They used a jackhammer, and removed a square fairly cleanly. However, they did not pack the dirt down before replacing the concrete, meaning it sank after a good rainfall, leaving a big void under the slab. It was no trouble getting that work redone, although the original pour looked better from the surface. I am satisfied and confident in the pier-work and the hardware itself, and glad I had the work done for piece of mind.
Description of Work: Inspected interior damage to home and possible outside causes. Installed five piers under the house, on two walls, to stabilize foundation. They are able to lift foundations with such piers, but that was not necessary in my case and was only stabilization.

Salesman is very friendly and "talks a good game" to sell you on their company. When they did the work they damaged the siding on the house, knocked down the drain pipe, and damaged the portico on the entrance to our home. Instead of returning the dirt to the trench they dug to work on the foundation they spread it all over half of the front lawn. It was a mess! I called the company repeatedly to complain about the mess they left but they did not accept responsibility. We had to hire someone to repair all the damage to the house, which they did pay for eventually, put we had to hire someone else to repair the damage to the lawn. The foundation crack was under the front door and they supported one side but not the other. I called the company repeatedly to ask them to fix the problem but they denied any responsibility. The job was not completed properly and I ended up calling another company to come in and repair the problem.

In Oct. of 2007 we looked at and sold a foundation piering project that was completed in Jan. of 2008. The day after completion the owner called in concerned about some damage that had been created during the completion of the project after dark. The damage created could not be corrected by us. We contracted with a separate contractor to make the repairs. The repairs were completed and paid for by FRS within 4 weeks time. FRS did take care of the customer and we did pay for the repairs to the damage. Since the work had proceeded late and after dark the damage that happened was not immediately visual to our crew. Once we established that indeed the damage was created at that time we honored the cost of repairing it. This was an unfortunate but very rare situation and FRS did act responsibly in making sure the cost was handled by our company.

The end result met our expectations, and 6 months later, we do not have a problem with water, or the house settling anymore. The working crew was very professional, and tried to minimize the mess and inconvenience as much as they could (though there was still quite a mess). The things that didn't go so well - They hit one of our gutters with their machines as they were digging, and have still not replaced it - though they said they would Pay attention to how the contract is written, because we bought so many pounds of the "polyfil" material that they would use to inject under our house and were told that we would only pay for what was actually used (if less) and we would pay more (if more was needed), they just put the estimated amount in the contract so that you have a better estimate of the final price. We only used about 1/8 of the estimated amount, and it was kind of a hassle to get them to take that extra money off the final contract price, because nowhere did it say in our contract that they would take the money off the final price. They did take the cost down, BUT said there was a minimum cost to bring that crew/truck out which was more than we had met with the amount of material we used, and we had never heard of this "minimum" cost before. I did feel like he was being honest, but it kind of sucked to feel like you paid more than what you used, since that was not explained up front (and I think that was the case because they thought our house would need a lot more work than it did) Ruts were run down our driveway because members of the crew could not keep the trailers on the driveway The black tar paper stuff they used to adhere to our foundation to address the cracks has started peeling off. I am still not sure what to do about that. In the end, I would have them do the work again. Just watch out for how the contract is worded, and take pictures of any damage.
Description of Work: FRS stabilized our foundation using their helical piers around half of our house, then they lifted the sunken portion of the foundation about 2.5 inches. They also installed new drain tiles along one side of the house, and applied water proofing "skin" to the outside of the foundation where there were cracks. They also used their "polyfil" material to inject under the foundation (similar to mudjacking) to fill any voids that may exist under that house.

They dropped the ball when we scheduled the work. They changed the date of the work without telling me and they were trying to not have to get a permit to do the work. I guess out where they are they don't have the permit and I was like you're not touching my house until you have a permit and once they got the permit, they discovered that they needed to do a different kind of pier than what they told me and nobody ever called me and told me that they changed anything so I fired them. The guy who came out and did the estimate was really good and he was professional. It was just the whole way they handled my job was not professional.

Upon the start of the project the foundation was exposed. Once exposed it was determined that the foundation was significantly deteriorating from the exterior. This required a change to the project. Additional cost would be needed along with permitting. Owner chose to wait on repairs and we returned all deposits to the customer and back filled the site. There are times when the full extent of the long term damage to a home is not revealed until we have begun the job and exposed the full issue.

This work was completed on a domestic violence shelter that houses approximately 20 people on the lower level. When FRS was contacted, we had mold on the walls, and mushrooms growing on the carpet. It was in very bad shape. We were no longer allowing people to reside on the lower level. They said they could get the moisture out and they really did. They were prompt, fast, and very clean. There was cement coming in through the windows and machinery everywhere. We thought we would be cleaning up forever, but we only had a little sweeping to do before we could start putting our new floor in. They are very good at what they do. It has been two years and with all of the flooding outside, there has not been any sign of moisture. We have been very surprised by the entire process.

It was disappointing to say the least. The sales staff and the corporate staff were all very professional. It was the crew that was less than professional. They were very nice and polite young men, just not self starters or had pride in their work. This company could be very good at the other services they list if they do not use the young boys to do the job. First all the company is headquartered in Moberly, MO. so everything is always, well we are coming or going to Moberly. Can't do this or that or our time will be later because we are coming from Moberly. The boys arrived on the appointed day at about 1:00 or 1:30 pm because they had had to drive from Moberly. They then had to go to lunch because they hadn't eaten. About 3:45 or so, they had to quit for the day because they were tired. Came late the next AM because their GPS led them to the wrong location. We think they worked until about 12:00 or 1:00 then went to lunch and to Lowe's to get supplies. Came back a little after 4:00 that afternoon. Called about 8:45 pm and said they weren't finished and would be back on Monday after they drove back from Moberly on Monday. We went over to the property to inspect what had been done. The drainage system had been put together with duct tape and they had used landscape rock to fill in the trench. Not only had they used duct tape on the system, but it was up and down and did not slope into the sump pump. They did not bring the proper hole saw to make the hole to send the sump pipe outside so they borrowed ours to do the job. No problem, they didn't hurt it. It was just unprofessional. When I called the salesman about the duct tape, he said that was standard and it was only to hold it together until they poured the cement on top. Now what happens on the bottom when the duct tape is wet from the water we are trying to eliminate and it is covered with concrete? The system is not professional! We had our plumber come over to inspect it and see if we were unreasonable and he said it would never have worked. We told the company to come and get their material and supplies. We paid them what they asked for the trench they had done and we were all happy from then on. It was an expensive lesson and I am writing this so that no one else has to experience this unprofessional system. They need to use some type of permanent connectors for the drainage system and send men instead of boys who like to horseplay instead of work. I'm sure others have had this system installed by this company and have had not complaints. I researched this company on Angie's List and they have great reviews from the Better Business Bureau. We just had a bad experience and the next person may have a great review. I hope that is true, because these are actually very nice folks.

We were contracted on this job in May due to the owners concerns with the problem and we agreed to expedite the install procedure. This required us to send a crew from a further office location. All products were installed to the manufacturers specifications. The manufacturer does not provide connectors for the Waterguard system. It is not pressurized and therefore stays together as designed. The tape used that the customer is referring to is only put on the pipes just to keep fine debris from getting into the system during the install process and is not used for connection purposes.

My initial encounter with FRS was good as the sales person was very knowledgeable, professional and thorough in his estimate and overall approach. However, after much communication back and forth, the sales person suddenly stopped returning phone calls. I had negotiated with him on the price, terms, warranty, etc, most of which FRS refused to budge on. I finally gave up on them and moved on to another company, which has since performed the work. Several weeks later, I got an email from the company offering a substantial discount on our estimate (15%). When I asked why they didn't offer this discount when I asked for it, they had no good response, and told me that the sales person I had been working with had left the company. It was really frustrating. They had a very intense sales/marketing approach, which is maybe why their offering was so much more expensive than the other quotes I received. Maybe others have had different experiences, but mine was pretty poor.

During our sales process at the home our sales people have an opportunity due to efficiency to offer a 5% discount at the time of the bid and this would have equaled $1126. Unfortunately the salesman that visited the home moved on to a different occupation. In an effort to continue our relationship with our customer our office followed up 1 month after the appointment with a similar discount amounting to $990. (Our products and services do not have such a large markup allowing us to offer such large discounts and so there was no offer of 15%.) We believe our prices are fair for the quality products and service that we provide to our customers. We do apologize for the time lapse in between your last contact with the salesman and our offer to continue the job that was bid. FRS has always maintained an honest and service oriented relationship with our customers and we stand behind our reputation for quality and strict business ethics.
