Not only did they install a keyboard when I specifically asked them NOT to by forcing it into my laptop and damaging it so badly that it later fried the entire device, but they did NOT fix the broken fan that I asked them to repair. I had to take it somewhere else and pay more money only to discover that the only work completed by this place was that they blew out the fan with canned air and left it in the device, damaged, with bearings falling out. It took them over a month and over $200 to ruin my machine. I can only imagine that they had no respect for me because I don't appear to be wealthy. As a business owner myself, I couldn't believe the lack of customer service and uncaring attitude. The customer service was practically nonexistent. They were rude and crass and the owner himself smirked while collecting the payment from me. They've also refused to pay their taxes according to the MO DOV and their tax license is revoked. NOT a healthy business for this community!
Description of Work: In December of 2011 I dropped off a laptop that the fan had gone out of to be repaired. The keyboard was missing some keys and they offered to repair that as well. They quoted me nearly $300 for both fan and keyboard and I asked them what it would cost for the fan repair only. It was nearly $250. I told them to go ahead and repair the fan as I'm also a business owner and I had client files on the laptop that needed to be completed and I couldn't afford to wait around much longer. Two weeks went by and I had to call and inquire if the work was completed as I hadn't heard from Computer Guru. The receptionist was vague and did not know what to tell me. My husband and I decide to physically attempt to talk to them so we make the drive to check on the laptop. The receptionist hands it to us with a smile and we leave. Out in the car a block away, I open it to check and try to turn it on and get the same message: the device will not boot up due to a faulty fan. Back to Computer Guru we go. This time, we demand to speak to the owner. He claims the part hasn't arrived yet. A phone call the following week produces the claim that they still haven't received the second part. FINALLY, almost two months later, we get the laptop. I boot it up and the fan makes a horrible grinding noise. They've also replaced the keyboard with a keyboard for another device which did not fit. They jammed this other keyboard onto my laptop causing irreparable damages. We seek help elsewhere.
