Schmittels was recommended to us by our neighbor. We gave them a try and were very impressed with the quality of tress and bushes we purchased. We had the tree planted by Scmittels and we planted the bushed ourselves. The tree is doing great, as are the bushes. This was a couple of years ago. I wanted to see them in action so I scheduled a time when I would be home. The two guys that came out were dresses appropriately and were polite. They both worked well together and didn't mind all of my questions. They took their time and got the tree planted without issue.

They have good products, are professional, and answered my questions well. Very courteous I did my own planting because they had such a long waiting list to do the planting. I didn't want to pay for a service so far in advace

We just moved into a new house and wanted to ensure that we would have large healthy trees to provide shade and privacy in our back yard. We back on to woods, but we have neighbors on both sides and we wanted privacy. Schmittel's was at least 50% less that the other quotes and even improved upon our plan (done by a different landscaping company), by suggesting trees and plants that were better suited to our soil, and sun exposure. My minor complaint, is we asked for Schmittle's to wait till our retaining wall was complete before they plant. As soon as the wall was up we notified them, and in stead of installing our plantings that next day, they installed our neighbors, who signed their contract with Schmittel's after us because of our recommendation. Schmittles installed our plantings 3 days later, and we could not be happier.

Very helpful with figuring out how to much dirt to load in our vehicle as it is very heavy. We had a system down as multiple trips were made to pick up the dirt.

The quality was excellent. My overall experience was excellent.

Schmittel's Landscape Designer, Steve, presented us with a very professional blueprint of the work to be done in our front yard. He had prepared plans that gave us two options. My husband and I decided to go with the plan that best fit our budget. Brian and his crew arrived at our house on October 10, and the work was completed the same day. We are very happy with the plantings and the work done by Brian and his crew. There is only one thing that ruined the perfect experience for us. We decided to go with Schmittel's because of the reviews on Angie's List and because we prefer dealing with local companies. When I came here today to submit my review, I happened to notice on the left side of the page that 10% Senior Discounts are given. Now I will be the first to agree that I should have caught this when I first consulted Angie's List for the reviews. I called Schmittel's and asked why we were not offered this 10% discount at the time we agreed to the work. I was told that it is up to the discretion of the Designer and only if the potential customer asks for it. Wow! Maybe it would be in the company's best interest to simply discontinue that practice rather than use selective pricing. Needless to say, I am disappointed. I do wish to reiterate that we are very happy with the finished product.

The job went very well. Scott kept us informed as to where we were in the installation schedule which was reasonably near and when they were ready, they came out and really went to work. They stayed with the job all day for several days until it was totally finished and to our satisfaction. They never left to work on someone elses job and then come back I had last minute changes which they seemed happy to accommodate. We have used them several times since.

I contacted Schmittel’s for a bid to replace some plantings in my front yard. I had a very large Locust tree removed by another tree Service. I checked with two other Landscape companies before deciding to go with Scott Egelhoff at Schmittel’s. Scott is an upfront guy and explained what would work without selling you more than you need. His estimate was detailed with cost breakout for each plant as well as topsoil and decorative rock and bedpreparation. Scott arrived along with his crew and he showed me the plantings and explained to the crew what needed to be down with my approval. The job went well. The landscapers were professional and did a good job.

I have a large watergarden with many plants surrounding the landscape. I talked with Scott Egelhoff about mulching my beds when he came out to give me an estimate for plantings. I hired Schmittel’s to deliver, haul and spread dyed dark brown mulch. In the past I did this job myself but at my age it’s more difficult. Larry and two other landscapers arrived at 8:30AM and proceeded to wheelbarrow the mulch around the yard. I thought their technique was excellent. They hauled the mulch and made small piles around the yard and once all the mulch was laid down they carefully and meticulously spread it around the pond and plantings. I’m pleased with how well it came out. They cleaned up the street area and worked off the truck instead of dumping the mulch in the driveway.

It went very well. I hadn't use them before. I'd recommend them to anyone.

After visiting several nurseries looking for assistance picking out the appropriate trees for our backyard, thankfully, we found all the help we needed at Schmittel's. Carl was absolutely wonderful to deal with and extremely knowledgeable. We completely trusted and valued his opinion and expertise. He didn't try to "sell" us at all. They're 30 minutes from us, but well worth the drive. We were SO glad we found them.

Schmittel's helped us to pick out the right plants for our landscaping, making sure that the plants would thrive where they were intended.

We had a good consultation and then they came in and did landscaping for us and did a good job. The job was completed to expectations.

We have had good service from Schmittel's. Everything has been fine with them. Their pricing was not out of line. We are basically happy with the landscaping. There are a few things we would maybe do differently. Everyone was very nice and pleasant and did a good job. I would suggest that if you use Schmittel's to make sure you get someone with a lot of experience with landscaping so they would know the difference between the plants that would do well in your yard. They put in a few plants I did not care for after they were in.

I ended up going with a different company to get the work done. I was referred to them by one of my neighbors who had used them before. They gave me a very nice and clear estimate. They explained about the work that they were going to do along with the estimated price. I would consider using them for getting a quote in the future.

The staff was efficient, friendly, and knowledgeable. I was able to pick up the quantity needed of the perenials that were required for the job. And, Schmittel's offered suggestions on the mulching.

Steve was very nice, professional landscape architect-very helpful-not sure how competitive price was-we didnt check competitors-we liked Steve that much! Great crew-(arrived and finished as agreed)- Luke who took the lead with crew was mannerly and professional-Eduardo and Joe were equally hardworking and professional. Crew went above and beyond.Will post an update in the Spring 2011 to let Angie know if all goes well with Spring blooms and how any problems are handled. Work done looks beautiful! So far-would highly recommend!

The plants and everything was very good. The person wasn't nice because when a couple of plants died, he said that they didn't replace them. I had to call again and get somebody else and they replaced them. I think the first person wasn't there for very long. The second person did a very good job and we were satisfied with everything. Their price was good. The first guy wasn't very professional, but the second guy was professional.

I had called on the phone to get a small landscaping done in my backyard. I got the runaround. Finally a Phil came out, said he would do the work, but never did. I talked to Carl, the manager, several times. He said he would do the job, but he didn't keep his word. I filed a complaint against this company with the BBB. Carl called me and was very upset trying to get me to change my report. This was unprofessional.
