Leaf Filter and Ralph Stanley are both incredibly deceptive. They use high pressure sales tactics preying on elderly people. They try to scare and intimidate you to get you to buy their product. Even telling you your risk of DYING by cleaning your gutters. Ralph Stanley is not who he pretends to be and I beg everyone who reads this does not to allow him in their home. Weeks later and my mother is still bothered by her interaction with him. Please do your research on them before singing anything. This is far from being an isolated occurrence, I’ve seen timeshare salesmen be easier to tell no.

It went very well. They were prompt, cleaned up their work site, and did a good job.

Completed the project in one day. Cleaned up the area when they left. The salesman who came to the house was very knowledgeable and have a great presentation. Would highly recommend them

Excellent! Refreshing to request a quote for services and receive a visit from a pleasant gentlemen, who went about his business quickly and with obvious knowledge. After negotiating the price a little, contract was signed and work was finished within a few days. My expectations were not high. I responded to a marketing flyer in the mailbox offering what I thought was "too-good-to-be-true". The woman on the phone was pleasant, quick and thorough to set a date and time for salesman. I expected a time in the future from a fast moving, slippery salesman from some large city, who might not appreciate coming to a remote rural property. The salesman arrived the next day, we drank water on the patio, I listened and absorbed the obvious superiority of the Leaf Filter and we swapped anecdotes while knocking out a contract. The installer arrived two days later and completed the job on time. No changes, no failures all-in-all a very pleasant experience.

It went well I thought the sales person pressed too much to keep me from getting other prices. If I was to do it again I would have checked out local firms first. I think they were overpriced by about 25% Leaf filter did a good job and the product so far has been working well.

Excellent. Chris arrived on time and spent 9 hours fitting and installing the leaf guards. He was a good listener and communicated clearly . Even though my house has some quirks that presented challenges, he stayed until the job was done, rather than completing the next day. Thanks, Chris!

After submitting a request for gutter cleaning, I began receiving phone calls from various service providers. One of those providers was LeafFilter Gutter Protection. It only took 10 seconds to schedule a time for a site survey for an estimate. However, the woman on the phone seemed more interested in selling me gutter guards and insisted that my wife needed to be present to hear the presentation. I told her that I didn't want gutter guards and that my wife couldn't care less about gutter guards and wouldn't need to be there. The woman then told me that the discount would only apply if my wife was also present. I, already, wasn't interested in gutter guards, but this completely turned me off to any services they might have to offer. Needless to say, I did not get a quote from them and I will never consider them in the future.

I knew from the minute that the installer showed up, that it was not going to be a great experience. He just didn't seem to have his act together and was not polite or friendly at all. I was really quite shocked by his overall behavior and mood. It took him less than 5 hours to install the system over my existing gutters. I will say that the product does look great and has been very effective with our rains this week. That being said, it was really the installation process and the installer that left a very bad impression with me. Reasons for why I was upset after the installation: 1) installer was neither polite nor friendly 2) he took down the rain sensor for my irrigation system and did not figure a way to re-install it. I would think that after all of these years, that would have been figured out. He just left it on my front porch (that will now be an added expense for me to have the irrigation company come out for a service call and figure out how to re-install it). 3) When I asked if he cleaned the downspouts, he said, "well, as far as I could reach..... I don't take them apart or anything".... Seems like I paid to have all of that cleaned and not just "as far as he could reach". All in all not a great experience.

I was looking for someone to clean the gutters and possible repair a few on my home. This company called and offered to come do a free bid. When the SALESMAN got here, he asked if my husband was here. I told him he was not. He then asked me if I could make decisions, because he had driven a long way and was ready to make a deal now. I told him I would see what he had to say, but if it was a great deal of money, I would need to talk to my husband. He then reiterated how far he had driven and acted somewhat disgusted. This was the first part that really put me off to the company. He then kept asking me what I would pay. I kept telling him I would need to see a bid. I finally asked him what we were talking about. I even gave him specific numbers: $1000, $2k, $3k? He told me he couldn't tell me, but that this was a big job, and he would have to take measurements and talk to people. (We have an older Victorian home.) After an hour of him taking measurements, we sat down and he showed me the estimate; $9486!! I could not believe it. He told me he "wasn't Santa Claus and this wasn't Christmas," but he was here to negotiate and would give it to me at his cost. He then lowered the estimate to $6000! I was shocked. The entire time, he kept telling me how far he had driven, as if I had to make a decision immediately based on his mileage. Needless to say, we did not use this service. It seemed like a good product, but far too expensive, and the salesman was too pushy.

Their product may (not sure) be good, but their sales techniques are high pressure and combative. I had the KC area sales rep here this morning. Their technique is to do a long, long presentation and then pressure the homeowner to make a decision immediately. He showed me a $4000+ price and then talked about "incentives" but I had to agree today. After I told him I would not make a decision today, he pulled out his calculator and showed it to me, where it displayed a $1421 price. But he cleverly did not say this was the price. He became increasingly irritated and badgered me. I finally asked him to leave. I literally had to ask him to stand up, to put on his boots, and to exit the house. I had to say this three times. Regardless of the quality of the product, I would not do business with any company that uses high pressure tactics.

My project "did not" go well. The representatives that were sent to my home for this project were not profession and courteous in any manner. The effort they put into doing the work was minimal and sloppy; they were only at my home for maybe an hour. They were not on time per the agreed-to time which was 10:30 - to 11:00 AM. A crew finally arrived late afternoon at 4:00 PM. The company did not communicate the failure of their crew to arrive on-time, wasting my whole day; I am the one who had to call the company to ascertain whether someone was coming or not. Multiple screws were left uninstalled and one (1) gutter panel had "no" mounting screws installed. Debris was left on the ground, very little cleanup occurred. No sealant was put on my existing gutter or downspouts, per contract, my downspouts were not inspected in any manner for cleanness. No repairs or re-alignment was made to the existing gutters which the sales-person said was necessary. The cost is outrageous for the work and service performed. I have contacted the company (Shay High - Project Manager) and have received no no-response or any significant effort to correct the faulty work and perform the installation to my satisfaction. I was so dissatisfied with the work and personnel that I attempted to put a "stop payment" on the check with my financial organization but communication errors lead to a stop payment not being successful. Once the check was paid, the LeafFilter company has "not" communicated with me.

The sales and installation went very well. The product performs very well in all weather except heavy snow. When the snow starts melting, it's like the gutters don't exist as the runoff comes straight off the roof.

Salesman knowledgeable and courteous. Installer arrived on time. Did an excellent job. This is a quality product with quality people behind it. Very friendly and glad to answer any questions. Installed just before leaves began to fall and am glad I did. No mess left behind and the guards work as advertised. You will be happy you got them.

Poorly installed. Constant overflow of gutters, probably due to improperly installed drip edge. They've been out twice so far trying to fix it.

I do not believe I got a good value for my money. I expected the workmanship to be better than it was. The worker did the work very fast. The workman showed me some pictures but not of the whole job. I did not have the chance to look at the far side of the house. He had removed the ladder before I could see, and the pictures were of the other side of the house. When I went up on a ladder after he left, I discovered that he did not remove the old brackets, he just stuck new ones on every foot. The horizontal slope of the gutters was adjusted slightly, but not really professionally done, that is, there is not a truly consistent flow along the length of the gutter to the downspout. For the price I paid, it should have been done better.

Guys who installed were personable and appeared to do a sufficient job, though I can't say for certain since I can't get up to the gutters to see.

It went great. Three workmen arrived about mid morning since they were from out of town.. One worked on the front, one on the back and the other prepared guttering to be applied. All three knew their job, and worked quickly. They were finished with in a few hours. Inspected the work done. They went around the house and picked up all debris that had collected.

While the installation of the gutters and the Leaf Filter system went well, the system has failed. The sales pitch is to eliminate gutter cleaning. Our original gutters had a gutter guard system in place to keep maple tree seedlings out. The seedlings would get trapped in the guard and require me to get on the roof to clean the guards so water could flow into the gutters. I photographed the problem. During the sales pitch I showed the problem to the representative who said "that is the problem with the old systems" but the Leaf Filter system would eliminate the seedling clog on the gutter guards, Guaranteed or your money back. This spring the Leaf Filter system is clogged with debris. Roof water run off cannot get into the gutters and in my opinion will cause roof damage. I call this clogged gutters. I made a service call. The service adviser returned my call and asked what the problem was I explained my gutters are clogged, his response " I doubt your gutters are clogged". I explained the gutters or Filter is clogged and not allowing water to flow into the gutters, the gutters are clogged. I was advised no the gutters are not clogged the filter has build up and will wash off with heavy rain or when the seedlings dry out will blow away. I explained we have had plenty of heavy rain and dry weather and seedling are now sprouting into trees. The service representative said the problem is not clogged gutters and would not be covered under any warranty. I explained the photographs shown to the sales representatives with problem and that we were told the Leaf Filter system would eliminate our problem, the Representative stood buy his definition of clogged gutters. I was advised I would have to manually clean out the Leaf Filter system, which is exactly why we purchased the system is too avoid cleaning gutters. Do not waste your money......... Update June 1, 2015 almost immediately after posting this review on Angies List the service adviser contacted us wanting to make an appointment to come to the house and see the situation. I had already climbed on the roof and cleaned the gutters (as told to do so by the adviser), photographing all the clogged gutters. The adviser did come to our house and inspected the install and adjusted the pitch of several of the gutters. While this may help in those two spots NO SOLUTION was provided for the other areas the system clogged. Again the adviser advised me the gutters are not clogged, just the filter. This is not a solution. The adviser again stated the system is working as designed. We expect the Leaf Filter Company to just admitted that the system will not work for our application and refund our money as promised in the sales contacts and advertisements. In our opinion this system is not performing as advertised. In our opinion the Leaf Filter Company did not stand behind the product as advertised. In my opinion after our first call a service technician should have responded and cleaned our gutters and made the adjustments. Once it was determined by the Leaf Filter Company the system will not work for our application a full refund should have been issued as advertised. Again we do not recommend this system. Photographs of before the install and after are available. I will be cleaning my gutters for years to come.

This is an update of an earlier review. After receiving our concerns with the issues we were having, Matt, from Leaf Filter, contacted us and came out that morning. He has (hopefully) corrected the problem regarding the flow of water in the gutters. The company does stand by what they sell.

In March of this year, I had LeafFilter install their product in my gutters. The price was competitive (approximately $4000) and I was happy with the installation process. Recently, I noticed that some of the panels in the gutters over my garage and front porch looked like they were starting to warp. I called the company's home office and they contacted the local contractor who did the work originally. They called me back within 24 hours and scheduled a time to come to my home and see what the problem was. The technician was on time and soon discovered that the problem was that the original installers added a couple of new brackets in the gutters, but they were installed a little higher than the ones that were already in there. Over time, it caused some of the panels to become warped. The technician replaced all the brackets and the warped panels, and made sure to check around the entire house to make sure there were no other problems. I was very satisfied with their response and with the exceptional customer service they provided. I would definitely recommend them.
