I signed a contract in feb. and they were supposed to start in july. but july came and went and dannerger did not. I had to call them to find out what was going on and all they would say is you are on the list. Dig right came out and marked my yard 4 times and I would call thinking they were going to start and Ralph would tell me the secretary made a mistake. they started the job in november the crew showed up at 9 took a 30-40 min break at 10, lunch was from 11:15 - 12:30 and by 2:30 they were packing up to go home. The crew members all smoked even in my garage and neither my wife or I smoke. The ONLY time I got a call from the office was to ask me for money, I find the company to be very unprofessional and would never recomend.

The work at our house took approximately 2.5 days, and the workers were prompt every morning, professional, and did a fantastic job. Waterproofing is messy, but the workers did everything they could to clean and leave the yard in the same condition they found it. While it has not rained yet since the work was complete, I am confident that our foundation is better protected now and our basement will stay dry. The company charged me a very reasonable price for the amount of work performed, and it is well worth it knowing that I don't need to panic anymore during heavy rainstorms. And, the company went out of its way to make sure everything was perfect and communicated with me at all points in the process. I hope I don't ever need a foundation/waterproofing company again, but if I do, I am hiring this one without hesitation.

The project took 3 days total (as promised) and the team was very easy to work with. They made every effort to keep the dust and debris contained and straightened up each day. While they were digging in the drainage outside, they also went ahead and fixed a couple of small issues with my existing downspouts (they had come loose from the drains at the bottom) at no extra cost. All in all an excellent experience and less than I expected to pay based on the Sq Ft of the house.

Have not had a drop of water in the basement since the job was completed. The entire job from start to finish couldn't have gone more smoothly, and each step went exactly as had been explained. Very professional hard working crew. It's such a relief to no longer have to worry about what was a major problem. Our basement no longer has a "musty" odor and we are enjoying our entire home once again.
Description of Work: Dannegger Brothers inspected the basement and foundation areas to determine source of flooding in the finished lower level. Determined the cause-a hairline crack under a basement window-and provided two options to fix the problem, each of which was explained in great detail. Answered all questions to my satisfaction, provided proposal and guarantee terms.

This project went way better than I had anticipated. Ralph Dannegger came out to provide the estimate and I was immediately impressed with his willingness to help figure out what was actually going on with my basement leakage. He went outside to review the area and suggested that I check a drain pipe that was responsible for draining the water from two roofs. He suggested that I have a plumber come out and take a look and see if it needed to be cleared. I totally appreciated this effort because it wasn't the usual , and quot;I don't really care what's really going on, how much can I make on this job?and quot; scenario. He then proceeded to review the basement area and deterine what I would need to rectify my problem. He provided me with a written estimate on the spot and after receiving all of the other estimates I decided to select Dannegger Brothers to complete the work. As the project started the work crew was on site bright and early and ready to work. They worked the entire day and they were pretty much ready to pour concrete the following day when we got hit by the freak snow storm! No worries though. Ralph contacted me and informed me they would not be coming that day and that they would be onsite within the next 2 days to complete the job. They dug out their trucks and sure enough they were at my door to finish. The very next day after completion it rained cats and dogs and I slept like a baby without a care in the world! The very first good nights sleep during a thunderstorm that I have had in years! Thank you Dannegger Brothers and a special thank you to Ralph Dannegger.
Description of Work: I had a terrible problem with water leaking into my basement during heavy rain. I secured bids from several different companies and decided on Dannegger Brothers.

Although it took a while for them to start the job, due to weather, the work was done professionally. The workers were friendly and courteous. They moved shelves, a washer and dryer, and a refrigerator, to get the work done and took care to put things back the way they found them. They moved the plants in my beds to a garden spot in the back yard , to protect them. They did a great job of keeping things cleaned up throughout the entire project and left things spotless after the work was done. The workmanship on the epoxy was far superior to previous work I had done by another company.
Description of Work: Piering was done on the front half of the house and through the garage floor. Cracks in the basement were epoxy injected. Front porch and walk were removed for the piering and replaced.

They came out when they said they would and did the work the contract outlined. A few months later I noticed moisture on the wall about 2 feet up from the floor. I called them. They came out and looked and said they really didn't see anything but would moisture proof the brick on the wall outside near the ground. The moisture on the wall kept getting worse. I called and they said they would be willing to dig up to see what might be happening, but that would cost me in the range of $200+ dollars. They said they were very busy and would get back to me. They did not get back to me and we decided that we would consult with other companies rather than spend more money with Danneger bros. The wall was now very noticeably leaking water after rains, with water going into the carpet and damaging paint and plaster. We got several estimates and chose another company to re-fix the wall in early 2011: so far, it has stayed fixed.
Description of Work: Had a leaking wall in my basement. Dannegger Bros. dug down to the footing, scraped and patched "with a non-shrinking grout and then used "tar and plastic." They backfilled with gravel the sloping bed around the basement wall. The contract said that there was a "10 year warranty on the waterproofing.

I called Rich Dannegger and he was at my house the next day to look at the situation. He sent me a quote for the work that evening. He said he'd be out on the 11th or 12th and his crew - Tim and Dave - showed up the morning of the 11th. They dug under the front corners of the slab, lifted it with hydraulic jacks, drilled 2 holes through the top of the slab and pumped their mud. They raised the slab snug against the house, jack-hammered the walkway, removed the old concrete and poured new. They finished by caulking around the edge of the slab that meets the house. Tim also filled a small hole in my foundation. Looking at the entrance today, you would never know there was a problem. We're very pleased with Danneger Brothers work - it was timely, professional and a good value. I recommend them without reservation.
Description of Work: The main entrance slab (stoop) had sunken to the point that it had separated from the house by about 4 inches. The weight of the slab sinking had also cracked a four foot portion of the walkway.

When I decided to actually have the work done, Richard and I set up a mutally acceptable date and I scheduled vacation around the time of the work to be done. I called Dannegar Bros. the week before the work was to be done, as I had not heard from them, and was confirmed for the following Monday, by the receptionist who answered the phone; but was also told that Richard would have to get back with me to verify. I had to call Richard on the Friday before the work was to be done only to find out that he could not have anyone there. I was also given the run around for a month about when they would be able to come out. At one point I was told by Richard that he did not want to start my job as he was going to be out of town so he could not be there to oversee the job. My first thought was there must be someone else that could run the job as the company was Dannegar BROTHERS. I finally ended up going with someone else because they were more receptive to my schedule and much more professional about keeping to a time schedule.
Description of Work: I had Richard Dannegar come out and give me a bid to redo my front porch.

Dannegger Brothers came highly recommended by a friend-of-a-friend, and carefully inspected the interior basement and exterior of my house to determine why we were getting water on the basement floor. Richard Dannegger spent at least an hour with me willingly removing drywall at my request to find the problems. He suggested several possible ways to fix the problem and gave immediate estimates with what seemed to be objective pros and cons of all the options. I had them do the work after getting a couple of other bids from other companies who did not look as carefully or seem to consider the source of the problem as thoughtfully. The price seemed reasonable for the scope of the work. They installed a partial drain system and sump pump in the basement. The work took 2-3 workers almost a full week. Their workers were extremely polite, conscious of their impact on my house and my schedule, and pleasant to have around. They started work and continued it until it was finished, which I appreciated, and they were clear about their schedules with me. Several weeks after the work was done, I noticed that the exterior drain for the sump pump they installed was not located where I thought it would be for landscaping -- I called them to discuss it. They called me back within a day, scheduled a time to come out, let me know right before they came, and together we came up with a good solution. Dannegger Brothers provided great service and I'd recommend them to anyone.

They came out promptly, and on time, to give me an estimate of the work. Arrived on time the day of the work (week after estimate given), completed work quickly in aproximately 2-1/2 hrs, as promised. The installer also gave me advice on maintaining my sump pump, how to apply drylock on basement walls, and paint my basement floors. I felt the price was fair. I did not get any other bids because I used Dannegger before and knew from that experience the price was fair, and they do excellent work. I used Dannegger Bros sometime around early 1990's based on a referral from a neighbor. They did quite a bit of basement waterproofing work for me--installing tiles in basement, a sump pump, installing an exterior french drain on side of house to relieve swamp like conditions there, and poured piers and jacked my front porch which was sinking. As my neighbor claimed they would, they did excellent work, arrived on time, were courteous, and the price is fair. They took great pains to protect my carpeting from workers having to go in and out of house installing the pump and drainage tiles. I've had no water leakage in basement, other than from new cracks in the walls this year, my side yard is still dry, and the front porch is in the same place after all these years. I've recommended this company to friends, family and neighbors for any waterproofing, etc. type work, and will continue to highly recommend them based on my recent experience.
Description of Work: Dannegger fixed two cracks in my interior basement foundation (epoxy injection), and caulked around the interior of incoming pipes, and put silicone caulk around the exterior of basement windows.

Overall it went as bad as it can go. The owner of this company is essentially almost out of control with his anger. He wouldn't stop yelling at me. He kept shouting and I almost felt threatened by him. I wouldn't even have him in my house. The work that they did, did not work either. I still ended up paying them for the work. I had to call somebody else. I would not use their services again in the future.

I had three different water isses goign on in my basement and outdise...I had water coming in at two different areas and I also had a pool patio collapsing....Over the last few years I must have had 15 companies come out and look at the jobs. Many pulled off of Angie's list...either they didnt show up, or spent hours with me and never gave me a bid, or tried something that didnt work, or wanted to charge me 30k-40k for each job involving tearing out my entire basement or pool patio....Dannegger Brothers really came in and saved my home..I cant say enough about them...Insurance would not cover these issues and I was just at a lost..Everytime it rained I would stay up all night trying to save my home. Dannegger Brothers new instantly what the problem was and each one was fixed within a matter of days...As a single Mother who was being told a million different things, Richard Dannegger came in and was honest, and delivered.... I hope I never have to use them again, because that would mean I have another issue, but they quite literally saved my home and for a pimple of what other "like" companies wanted to charge...If you have water issues or need mudjacking, i wouldnt call anyone else.

Contractor was quick to respond and start/complete the mud-jack which was done to our satisfaction. They then placed the forms, etc to prepare area for the addition. The problem came when we had bad weather that delayed the pouring. That was understandable...BUT there were several warm days the following week which the contractor didn't take advantage of. I discovered the contractor had chosen to move on to another much larger contract rather than finish ours first. When confronted, the contractor's comment was "I didn't think it mattered to wait 'cuz it didn't affect you much." Needless to say, we weren't happy that we had to keep parking on the street in violation of association's rules simple because our job wasn't as big as the one paying more. Bottom line - quality of work was fine...customer service was poor.

Since the work could be done in one day, they offered to have a crew come out on a Saturday when I would be home so I didn't have to take any time off work. They had to use a jackhammer to remove a section of basement floor, dig through over 2' of gravel and then another 18'' of dirt. Due to the rock constantly filling in the hole as they dug, this took several hours of hard, frustrating work. They also filled the old pit and replaced the concrete. Minimal water was found, so for now the pump is not needed. The crew was on time, very professional, and exceeded my expectations. They laid out plastic and drop cloths in the finished part of my basement to keep it from getting exposed to all the buckets of gravel, dirt, and cement that had to transported in buckets through the basement window. They also had plywood outside to protect the yard in the damp spots from the wheelbarrow. They cleaned up everything when they were finished.
Description of Work: To determin if there was any water accumulation under my basement floor, the engineer I had retained recommended deepening and relocating the sump pit in the basement closer to the sewer line exit point. Ralph Dannegger worked with me and the engineer to provide an estimate and do the work. Since we did not know if a sump pump would be needed until after the hole was dug, that was provided as an optional cost.

They placed a lien on my property while I was still dissatisfied for their service. They were payed in full and it took them 8 months to lift the lien on my home. This is only after I had to pay to have an attorney involved to have the lien lifted.
Description of Work: I called them and they talked me into doing the job. They buried a flow pipe in the yard. They only placed it 3" under the ground and it was lifting after 2 weeks of installation out of the ground. The mouth of the pipe is sitting in front of my son's play set and it has caused a problem since it is a cut pipe that is exposed and has caused some accidents with children tripping and cutting their feet. I also wanted them to seal some cracks in the basement. They epoxied 2 of the cracks and the others they did not, they used a different sealant that was not epoxy. The 2 cracks they epoxied are fine. I was talked into a $2000.00 sump pump. The pipe that runs up the wall for the sump pump that they installed was about 4" away from the wall. After calling them back, I was told to frame around the pipe and when I refused they came out and installed the pipe flushed to the wall as originally contracted. The sump pump and the interior drain tile was completely unnecessary. I feel I was taken advantage of as a single woman and parent.
