I am extremely impressed with every single interaction I had with this outstanding outfit! My wife and I started off this winter with a very sick heater unit that required a decent amount of work just to limp it along. The initial tech came out and evaluated both our sick unit as well as the other aging one and provided professional, unbiased insight on each. In order to help us along in our decision, the technician provided a cost breakdown for several levels of repair effort in order that we could make an educated decision. He also let us know that we could pursue a charge-free consult if we'd like to understand our replacement options. He did not steer us in any direction so we did not at any point feel pressured. The next stage of our evaluation consisted of our main point of contact, Brian Kremmel, whom was the sales rep/another of many technical gurus on Academy Air's team. Brian, myself and my wife went from room to room measuring each space and respective windows, etc. Brian performed thermodynamic hand calculations on the spot to determine multiple options tailored to our needs. He provided a "thoughtful" solution which yielded an efficient unit that held temperature via a continuous, variable speed fan with only the required coils to complement fan speed. Brian was witty and kind with his practical, down to earth explanations which assisted our understanding of our current unit versus the options he proposed. Finally, Academy Air's installation specialists were very courteous of our living space and respectful in our interactions. When they realized a part was missing, they were overly apologetic and humble of the circumstances outside of their control (i.e. this was a manufacturer mistake). In order to console any inconvenience, Academy Air offered up two space heaters at their expense to help get us through Sunday. All in all, Academy Air provided an easy and informative experience which enabled us to make an educated decision with expedient, professional service. We are very happy to have selected them and feel as though we have a partner in air for years to come. Great job!!

They are excellent and are very honest. They are good men whom I trust. They are also excellent on follow up if anything needs to be made right. They know what they are doing and I would highly recommend them.

I have been using them for years. I have a contract of $12.50 a month. They come out twice a year. I started using them 15 years ago. It has been a very long time. They do very good work.

Excellent service from start to finish! Michael was here within an hour of calling-and this is probably one of the coldest days of the year. He fixed the problems that Laclede Gas had diagnosed & kept me informed during his time here. He also was kind enough to wait around for LG to come back & verify the work, in case something else needed to be done. He also gave us some other tips/ideas on future work that we inquired about. I would highly recommend this business, and I hope Academy Air knows what a professional, personable and skilled employee they have.

This company could not fix our problem, which was somewhat unique - and we eventually ended up hiring someone who could. I was not initially satisfied with the service, due to the expense and the lack of resolution. However, I relayed my concerns to their manager, Brian, who told me that the company has a 100% guarantee, and asked what he could do to make it right. We agreed on terms that were fair to both of us. While I was not delighted with the original work performed, I am pleased that the company cared enough to make it right.

I know the install is just as important, if not more so, than the product you decide to purchase when dealing with the more energy efficient HVAC systems, so I did a lot of research before choosing Academy Air to do my install. I decided on the American Standard because it's the same product as Trane for a cheaper price (because of the name). I like the communicating system between the AC and furnace, and got a few quotes before picking Academy Air. I had another quote that was considerably cheaper for the same system, but the guys from Academy Air did a load test on my house, and determined exactly what I would need. They explained exactly what they would do and how they would do it, and I felt comfortable that they would put in the extra attention to make sure it's installed correctly. They were the only ones that did a load test on my house to make sure they were picking the right system. I would use them again if I had to do the whole process over, even at the little bit of a higher cost.

I had reviewed previously about a diagnosis of a hole in the heat exchange and then not being able to find a hole at all. I received another call from one of the owners trying to make sure I was satisfied with the their service. He offered a long extended warranty to ensure that they can be trusted, because in the end, it really is about trust. They want their customers to be happy with all their services and AND ARE WILLING TO BACK IT UP!

I had my bi-annual check up on my heating/ cooling system and was told that there was a HUGE crack in the heat exchange and that it was in a dangerous state and they had to shut my furnace off by law until it was either fixed or replaced. i was quoted $4,300 for a new furnace or about $500-600 in repairs on a 20 year-old furnace. It was very cold and since my furnace was so old, I chose to schedule a new one installed. They came the next morning with a new furnace, which was great, BUT WHEN I ASKED TO SEE THE BROKEN PART, THEY COULD NOT SHOW ME THE HOLE IN THE HEAT EXCHANGE OR ANYWHERE ELSE. After a couple hours of looking and lots of embarrassed employees, an offer was made to me. We settled on a price. I did get a good price on the furnace installed but learned that the quoted price of that furnace was high in the first place and then when it didn't need to be replaced after all, IT MADE ME WONDER ABOUT THE A/C THEY PUT IN FOR US A COUPLE YEARS BACK, if it really did need replaced or not. Both the A/C and furnace work well and they were installed well. Their employees are professional and clean up after their work well. For me, the question is always about the real necessity of the needed repairs and the price of those repairs!!

The technician, Rico, was professional and did his job quickly, even in the pouring down rain.

The scheduling of the service was straightforward & done promptly. The installer came well prepared and worked diligently to install the new water heater. The installer arrived on time, was very friendly and attentive to completion of the work. The water heater installation was done to code & passed inspection without any questions. All handled promptly & professionally. Great job!

Our experience was wonderful! Academy Air was very flexible and worked around our availability. Ben completed the inspection. He was professional and thoroughly explained everything. We are absolutely going to be using Academy Air for all our future HVAC needs in our new home!

My family has been using Academy Air for many years. In terms of quality, reliability, professionalism, etc. you can not find a better provider. I did not do a significant amount of shopping around when getting the air conditioning system installed and am sure they are most likely on the expensive end of the spectrum, but you get what you pay for. The equipment they use is the best in the industry and everything was done with significant attention to details. Amazing warraties that you can't find anywhere else as well. Can't wait for my new furnace to be installed this weekend.

They've done multiple services and they've all been great. We are on a yearly maintenance program with them. Its a little less if you sign up for the maintenance program than if you just call them as needed. They also put in new thermostat and a new compressor for us. They've done a lot for us. They're dependable, reasonable and the service guys are really friendly. They explain everything to you and show you stuff. They don't just do it. They show it. They're good. The pricing is comparable as everybody else. The guy that used to take care of us was my cousin, I don't think I could get it better than that. But when we found these guys, they were just terrific.

I've been using them probably since 2002. I love everything about them. Their technicians are always very polite. They're very neat. They're on time. They provide great service and are very thorough. The owner is wonderful.

The work by Academy Air Heating and Air Conditioning turned out wonderful. They are very reputable in my opinion. There was nothing that I disliked in my experience, none. The cost is about 180 a year for 2 inspections per year. They are all about the same price. They were all good. The professionalism was definitely an 'A'. I will continue to use them in the future.

The morning of January 8, 2015 we woke to find the temperature in our house was 60 degrees and it was freezing outside. We called Academy Air about 8am and he arrived by 8:45am! The technician, Daniel, was very professional, polite and courteous and went right to work assessing the problem. As always, he put on shoe coverings before entering our house. He was very knowledgeable and clearly explained what he found and what was needed to make the repairs. Our house quickly returned to a very comfort temperature. We really appreciated how quickly they responded and how good the tech was at diagnosing the problem and fixing the system!! We can always TRUST and DEPEND on Academy Air to keep us comfortable and especially to keep us SAFE when it comes to furnaces and carbon monoxide! They have been taking care of us and give us exceptional service. We purchased a maintenance agreement which saves us money on each early AC and furnace checkups. We highly recommend this company to anyone and any business who is looking for a company they can trust.

Academy Air was wonderful! The workmen were courteous, thoughtful, respectful and informative. They were clean and careful about making a mess and cleaning any leftover debris. It was a big job . We have a 70+ year old house and access to the appliances is not easy. They handled it very well without grumbling. Thier product line is working extremely well and efficiently. The cost was competitive with the other companies, but they were the best by far when it came to keeping us informed. I highly recommend them Judy Schoewe

I found Academy Air through a friend and boy am I glad I did. I called the company that put in the system the Wednesday that it went out and they said they couldn't get out here until the next Wednesday, December 17. I called another company in St. Charles and they came out but couldn't figure out the issue. I called Academy around 3pm on Friday, the 19th with my furnace still not working. They were very friendly and had someone come out within two hours. They figured out the problem and got it all fixed and going in another hour or so. The price was a little higher than I expected but the service was far better than the other companies I have tried so it didn't matter. I would definitely recommend Acadeny Air to anyone with heating and cooling issues.

I called Academy Air during the hottest week of the summer. I had come home late at night from a business trip to find that my AC was doing nothing but blow warm, stale air. In the past I had used a company that I found through the phone book (who shall remain nameless) and I tried calling them only to find that the rate for them to come out was extremely high since it wasn?t normal business hours. I then called a friend to tell my tale and ask if I could crash on his sofa for the weekend until the business week began, and he told me that I should call Academy Air, since he had used them for years and they don?t jack up the price for irregular hours. I did just that and they had a tech, Shawn, in my home within an hour. He was friendly and efficient, and I was pleasantly surprised when he put on shoe covers to walk through the house, since I?m always shoeless at home and even have guests remove their shoes in the entranceway as a rule. Nothing irks me more than a service-person stomping around my clean floors with dirty shoes. He quickly tested and found that my AC was leaking refrigerant, keeping it from cooling the air. He showed me where the leak was (turns out it was relatively minor and so not a huge expensive ordeal) and explained what he would need to do to fix it and how much it would cost. I gave the go ahead and within a couple hours, my home was back to being a habitable environment. I was so impressed with the whole experience (speed, cost, professionalism) that I also signed up for their maintenance agreement to make sure my system keeps working to the best of its ability. I?m sticking with Academy from here on out!

I came home a couple weeks ago to find that my AC wasn't working. I called Academy Air after 6pm & to my surprise actually talked to a live person who assured me they could have someone out that night to look at my AC and here was the kicker, the service call would be at regular pricing, not after hours prices. I mention this because I had called another company who's recording said that if I was reaching that recording that they were closed & that there was another number I could call but that they were on after hours premium rates. The service man from Academy Air arrived to my home about an hour later. He was so nice, he introduced himself, put on these shoe covers before he came in my home & did such a great job explaining what was going on with my AC. I tend to ask a lot of questions and he answered all of them with patience and sincerity. There was even a point during our conversation when I asked if I would be better off to get a new AC instead of repairing the one I have. His response was that my AC was 11 years old and that since this was the first repair I had to make to it, that he would not recommend me replacing it. After he figured out what was wrong and made the repair, he did have a list of some things that he recommended I should do as a preventative way to help me not have more issues in the future. I found this to be very helpful so that I could budget for these things in the future without being taken off guard with another breakdown in the future. Overall I was extremely pleased with Academy Air, from the girl I spoke to on the phone, to the man that fixed my AC. They were so professional and very personable all at the same time! They have definitely gained a customer for life out of me:)

The service tech who did the estimate told me that the owner usually did the estimates but was out of town (which was no big deal to me). The price they came in with was over $1200 more than their competitor. The tech tried to tell me that they were the only reliable installer in town: "Ask the manufacturer! They'll tell you." Well, I did ask. And they recommended the guy who came in $1200 less. Also, the tech tried to tell me that if I purchased the equipment on my own for them to install, it would void the warranty. This was also not true, as verified by the manufacturer. So, in the end, their price meant they weren't in the running. However, I would not have chosen them regardless based on my sense of their trustworthiness.

I shopped around for a good HVAC company for a while and boy am I glad I found Academy. All told, the house has never been more comfortable and the utility bill has been greatly reduced! Would definitely recommend to a friend or a family member in need!
