Ben gave very good ideas, and I implemented them. The problems I encountered where with communication. He came to my home and said he'd email the recommendations -- a week later I needed to remind him to send the report, which he did promptly. I called several months later for him to retest the home, but didn't hear from him, by phone or by email. I kept calling the office and finally received a call-back from someone else. This is when I learned that Ben needed to be out of state for an extended period of time because of a family emergency. When he returned, he contacted me to arrange the retest. I needed to reschedule because of my own family emergency. When we did meet, he retested the house and showed me other areas which I could redo because I misunderstood the original suggestions. He said he would email me with the amount I would be rebated and how I would receive it (check or credit on my electricity account). As before, I didn't hear from him -- had to email a couple of times for a response. Finally received the check, for more than he estimated I'd receive.

By then I had hired another Angie's List recommended company.

After some frustration initially with getting Energy Star to respond to my calls, everything went very well. Evidently, the person we bought the coupon from had taken leave from the company. When my repeated calls and emails finally got to someone, things proceeded smoothly. | |The inspection was much more involved than we expected. The man who did it was contracted out by Star Energy not actually employed by them. He was on time, very personable and thorough. He spent over an hour going through the house, then spent all the time I needed answering my questions. The report was emailed to me within a week. We didn't expect a second follow up inspection by the department that runs the energy rebate program for the state. They basically repeated everything the Star Energy person did. It was nice to get a second opinion, but it took another couple hours of our time and seemed redundant. |The next part of their service is to help us file the necessary paperwork to receive rebates for the work we do over the next year. Hopefully, that will go well.

Star Energy Consultants were perfectly fine. They did a great job and he has given me roughly $1,500.00 worth of recommendations on things to get done, which would generate about $600.00 or more in rebates from my energy companies. The first thing was to have additional attic insulation and that's already scheduled. He did a very, very nice job. I really enjoyed talking to him. We talked about how he got into the business and how things are going. I have nothing bad to say about him. He was just wonderful. The nice thing is, it was not a bait and switch or a hard sell. It's consulting and clear information to help me manage the energy uses of my house better. I will be using him in the future. I'm actually doing so, because I am following up on some suggestions and he serves as the coordinator for it. I mean, I could go straight to the insulation company myself. He gave me their name. But he said it will be easier if he sets it up. So, it's great.

I had an energy analysis evaluation completed to find out if there was anything I could improve in my home to save energy. Ben came out and was great, I have no complaints at all about my experience. He was very nice and helpful. He even said there was a program that you can file with the city and state to get available refunds. Ben filed all the paperwork to get involved with this program and see if I qualified for the refunds. He referred me to several other people with different services to assist in things like insulation, etc. to improve on saving energy. I would use this company again.

They did a good job. They did an energy audit. They don't do the follow up service they just do the recommendation. They did all the paperwork, they just don't provide the insulation and such, they are just there to help you with the audit. They follow up to make sure that you get the services that you need. He was very friendly and helpful. I think that he is very professional.

They did a good job us. Ben was very nice, helpful, and prompt. He filed all of the necessary paperwork with our energy company, and his follow up was appreciated. The only complaint is that Ben’s referral for armor insulation missed a few areas while working, and he hasn’t been responsive to our calls for follow-up.

First, Ben arrived promptly and even contacted me the day before with a list of information I will need to provide. He explained the process he would be doing and after each process he again explain any deficencies. His audit took roughly 1 hour and because there is a program available in KC, MO. he offered to walk me through the whole process. I was very impressed and grateful for all his help and the through audit. There are other papers I will need for the program and Ben has stated he will send those papers.
