Our first clue that things were about to go bad was when one of the workers appeared to be overflowing with energy. He bragged about how fast he could drive nails using an air-nailer. I saw him virtually run across the roof, driving nails as he went. I told him that I wasn't concerned with his speed - only the quality of his work. MANY nail heads were left exposed, with no shingles covering them. After they completed their work and were paid by us, the roof that covered our garage started leaking, and the drywall ceiling was about to fall through. We called Phil Owensby and asked that he come to see what was happening. Instead he said he required that we pay him $79 for the inspection. In brief: we made a mistake in hiring Owensby. We had to hire another roofer to fix the damage.

They tested the black streaks with a sponge. It had came off instantly and he discovered it was only soot from the fireplace. This was a free estimate and they didn't charge me anything. It did take two months for them to come out for the service because they did not return the calls. The service was okay.

While they were responsive and professional in the presentation of their product and services, the work was VERY badly done. They did not put flashing, cut the shingles unevenly and right at the edge of the roof. This has ultimately caused alot of damage to the wood. When I requested flashing after the job was complete (I'm not a roofer and yet did know that flashing should be there) I had to send letter after letter and call multiple times. Only when I threatened to go to a TV station, did they finally react. They did come out and put flashing, but I found out later that was poorly done as well and they did not put everywhere as should have been done. As the damage began to become apparent, I had a roofer look at the job and was advised that it was very poorly done and why. I've had another roofer out as well and he could not believe how badly the job was done....he was shocked. Of course, it's too late to go back to Owensby now. I would NEVER recommend anyone use these guys. Not in a million years.

I called for an estimate. A man called me back, and gave me a two day time frame that he would come to my house. He never showed up and never called. I have tried to call his cell phone, and he either has it blocked so you can't call him back, or he will not answer it and you can't leave a message. I left several messages on the office phone, and never received a call back to explain the no-show. I have lost interest in them, and wouldn't want to hire them if they did show up at this point.

Very good experience. Work was done in a timely manner, by friendly staff, and at the estimated rate.

WE'VE HAD LEAKS AND OUR WORKMANSHIP GUARANTEE EXPIRED AFTER 10 YEARS. HOWEVER, THE SHINGLES HAVE A 25 YEAR WARRANTY AND OWENSBY HAS NOT RESPONDED TO OUR CALLS TO HAVE THEM COME CHECK IT OUT. WE'VE CALLED OWENSBY SEVERAL TIMES AND HAVE LEFT MANY MESSAGES AND THEY HAVE NOT RETURNED ANY OF OUR CALLS. WE HAD OTHER ROOFERS LOOK AT THE ROOF AND THEY FOUND THAT THE SHINGLES ARE WARPING AND MAY NEED REPLACED.
