Midtown used a sub-contractor to install an exterior door. The latch does not work because the hole in the frame is misaligned. The top of the door is unfinished and I have stairs leading down to the door. A strike plate is missing. The hadware finish is flawed since the installler put the lock on the outside concrete and scratched the finish of the lock. The storm door was pulled off and the wood was ripped. The install team said the storm door that I had (about 3 years old) could not be reinstalled as originally promised. There was supposed to be a peephole but there was none. I bought a new storm door and Midtown installed it in Dec 2017. At that time, I was told a replacement lock had been ordered as well as a finishing strip for the floor next to the door. I have left voice messages. As of 1/18/2018, I have not heard from the company and they have not returned any of my calls.

They were very affordable. Had to get a door custom made for the house. The contractor came in on a Saturday and had the door finished in the afternoon.

In addition to the roof Midtown replace all gutters, gable vents, porch pillars surrounds and repaired siding. Crew was professional and cleaned up well after work was complete.

I would not recommend. Very aggressive sales. I had to subcontract for flooring, painting and cabinet painting. Midtown completed their portion and wanted payment immediately. My kitchen is still not finished. I?m having to look for someone else to complete it. My textured ceiling needs repair around a fan that was installed. I only have knobs on my cabinets, no drawer handles. I?m still trying to get the subcontracted painter to complete the painting. This has been a very stressful for me, as I am by myself and I told the salesman I wanted a contractor that would coordinate everything and was told they would be there to ?hold my hand ?. This did not happen.

The customer service gives you the impression once they sale you a contract they go and hire subcontractors to perform the work yet there customer service fails to timely order the equipment needed for the job. I've never heard so many apologies' . There project coordinator seems to have many excuses at one point I was informed that I had all the supplies required for my bathroom remodel job I had to inform him we did not have the flooring, the drywall the wall for around the tub and much more. This job took so long I had to call the bank and get an extension for the bathroom remodeling loan. The plumber had to come out to the job twice due to him not installing the water pipes in the correct location. Then the plumber went on vacation and was not available to complete the job so I had to go another weekend without my bathroom. Monday arrived and a different plumber arrived and he hooked everything up with the exception of the bathroom sink, It did not line up he stated. Tuesday arrived and a different plumber arrived and went to Home Depot and purchased a 86 cent tube and hooked the sink up. All during the month lone project for a med. size bathroom remodeling job I sent in emails with issues and trying to determine if I had to be at home for deceivers or if anyone was just reporting to work today. I would not hear from the company only when I called and they were either out or in meetings. After the job was completed than I hear from the production manager stating he has read my complaints and he also apologized. I informed him the workers did a fine job the customer service portion was not good at all. By the way after the job was complete I quickly heard from them to sign off on the job. I'm sitting here waiting for the inspection to be complete which I had to inform the caller I received yesterday I wasn't signing off until the inspector arrived and ok the job. Will not hire this company again

Their installers are the most kind and courteous hard working guys I've met in a long time who work on homes for people. The cost of the Alside Premium Vinyl siding for our home was about what we expected to pay when we were looking for aluminum. Good luck finding somebody to work on aluminum. The siding we got is really thick, .047mils, and according to Alside it has a 50yr warranty and includes hail damage coverage. Which is what brought all this about in the first place. The insurance would only pay for the west side, but we decided to do it all. So we had the whole house done, and it looks beautiful. Don our Production Manager I still have not met in person. I didn't even meet the installers until a week in. I work, they work we're all busy. But we did meet with Brandon the Project Manager before we decided to go with Alside from Midtown Home Improvements, he's the sales guy and was very courteous as well. We already had a basic idea of what we wanted to spend, and we took advantage of every discount we could eek out of him until we got it to where we thought ok let's do this. And we are quite happy. Brandon turned it over to Don, who came out and did all the final measurements and stuff. Sure I talked to him, on the phone, over email, text. Sent pictures back and forth. Whatever we needed to get done got done. I even ordered a custom color for the front. Don got back with Brandon, Brandon got me, and we met and signed a change order. No charge. Lets see, tear off was on 08/25/2017 finished 09/12/2017. I found this place using the Home Advisor project search request. Filled out a questionnaire of what I wanted and they gave me a list of potential providers to review. I picked the ones I was interested in and Home Advisor contacted them for me. I think I chose the right place. Now we are waiting on a storm to come so I can see how well they did. What do I know about siding. I think they did a good job, we'll see. Here is the only issue I know of. Don get your guys a Magnetic Sweeper for the yard. I had to call Don and ask him to come out and sweep the yard before this weekend. I got grand kids coming over this weekend. The crew and I walked around and picked up what we could, but geez. So close to 5, so close. I don't normally write reviews, but hey, you spend this kind of money you're a bit scared about what you gonna get. So I'm doing this for you. This is what I think, this is how it went for us. I think we're going to be OK. I'd give you some pictures but I don't see how you do that, Home Advisor.

I think it is pointless to use home advisor to find a company that simply contracts the work out to someone else. The work was done, and done well, but I wish I wouldn't have had Midtown Home Improvements as a middle man, because that just means some of my money was pissed away on a referral.

At the beginning of the project, the installing was being performed by a professional installer that gave his 110% to do his work. It went down hill from here. Our deck is less then a year old. There was a plank that bowed up and it took them several weeks to respond. It was repaired, but began bowing about 3 months ago. The gate wouldn't work unless you lifted and pulled it to open or close it. They made a repair about a month to six weeks ago. We pointed out the plank to the rep. He said he would tell the office. The gate is not working again. Their marketing rep. called on August 5, 2017 to offer a discount on any new project. I told her that we would not be interested in a company that doesn't respond to service needs. She said she saw that we reported issues in our file and would tell the office. So far we haven't heard boo from them. As far as we are concerned this was a five figure investment in a cheaply made project.

It took a little longer then we were told originally due to a mess up on the order, they forgot several times to order the back splash. But when they finally got there, the work was done quickly and looks beautiful.
