Tom and his crew was great on the removal and installation, which included an expansion, coloring, and stamping. The coloring and stamping, which was requested on demo day, was included for a reasonable additional price, without impact to schedule. Tom personally completed the necessary steps to finish the job right.

I had started a job with a different contractor many months earlier, but he kept stalling, for months, and was not getting the job done, so I started looking. Timing was not good as ALL concrete guys were full up, so it ended up being late in the year, but pretty close to the original estimate time wise. They did a very nice job. Tom did a great job of always answering my calls and emails, sometimes it was a few days, but he always answered. The cost was very reasonable.

Project was pretty straight forward. They came in and demolished, removed the rubble, framed and poured in a single day. Allowed time to cure (can't remember how long). Removed frame and sprayed on sealer. Voilà!

Tom was easy to work with and offered great ideas on how to finish the stoop. He was flexible with the work needing to be done by adding in the driveway approach. He was very honest about impact on my yard and did everything they could for minimal disruption. I would highly recommend Tom and his team.

Called to have them come out and give a bid for our back driveway. He did call back and asked if he could come on a Saturday or in the evening. I told him yes. Never heard from them again.

He called and came early. He was prompt, efficient, and told me what needed to be done and did not charge for the visit.

I called and identified myself as interested in a retaining wall of either concrete or hardscape construction. I reached owner Tom on first call, but he was at a job site and could not hear me well. I explained my job and asked him to schedule a site visit. Instead, he said he had seen enough sites like mine and that he would send a bid. The bid was reasonable enough, but I was concerned that the bid was much lower than the next closest bid...from another concrete contractor that had done an actual site visit. Since he never came to see the property, I did not consider his bid. I did not want to risk that he would back out of the deal after seeing the actual scope of work (although the proposal was detailed enough). Oh, and he had to call me back...in his haste, Tom wrote down the wrong email address for me. Hope you have better luck with this contractor than I did.

Tom initially provided me with an estimate to repair my front porch - and even emailed it to me which was very convenient. However, I chose to put off the work for a few months. When I contacted him in April (initial estimate was December) to ask him to set a date and let me know if the estimate has changed - he told me he would get back to me that evening. I haven't heard from him - and it's been weeks.

I contacted McGhee Concrete in the late spring for an estimate to repair a crumbling sidewalk at the base of our entrance steps that was becoming hazardous. Because the company was busy, it took quite awhile to get someone out for a quote, but when he did arrive, Tom was thorough, and provided suggestions to make the best use of our money and solve a couple of other problems around the property. After receiving the estimate, it took a number of months for us to make a decision and schedule the repair. The crew was prompt and did quick but thorough work. I am very happy with the quality of work, and the price was very reasonable. Would certainly use McGhee Concrete for future projects.

I was pleased with the work they did.

I contracted with them about three weeks ago. The quote was around $9000 - $10000. The experience was very good. They said they would come out and they came out. They showed up. They email me an estimate. They were very timely. I compared them with another company, I got a quote from and McGhee were very timely. They offered some suggestions on what could be done to improve. I went with them because I got what I wanted to get done. They were more caring. They wanted to do not only what I needed them to do, but they were wanting to do the best they could by adding other things that may have been more expensive for me, but it would be better in a long run.

I didn't use them after asking for more detail in the replacement. Each bid was kind of a joke. At the end it said cracks are not guaranteed but are highly unlikely due to our quality of work. They need someone else writing the proposals.I have to add one more thing. The proposal didn't even have a company name or phone number on it.

Tom came soon after I contacted him to do the measuring and the estimate himself. I was pleased to find he was very easy to talk to and the estimate received was very reasonable. When he and his crew arrived he introduced them to me. They were all friendly and professional. They graciously moved some heavier items from my garage that I could not handle, and replaced them when the project was finished. They were careful to follow the county code guidelines in the installation of fill, rebar, etc. It was apparent that Tom and his crew are very committed to doing high quality work. Tom adjusted the garage support post, reinstalled it and made sure it was supporting the ceiling beam correctly. Another company had told me that I would need to find another contractor to do that. Tom and his crew were very respectful of my property and cleaned up after each step of the operation, even sweeping and washing the driveway and curb area at the project's completion. My garage floor looks wonderful. It was a pleasure to have them work here, and I would not hesitate to recommend McGhee Construction, Inc. to anyone needing concrete work done!

We needed to replace cracked and settling driveway, steps, sidewalk and patio. We talked to and received a quote from a contractor who had done work in our neighborhood. We checked Angie's List and found favorable listings for McGhee Concrete. We were impressed with the responses found on Angie's List. We contacted McGhee and when Tom McGhee came to our house to meet with us he made several suggestions to improve the stability of our front steps. He was very busy at the time with other jobs but it was worth the wait. He and his team were very professional, knowledgeable and pleasant. We are very pleased with our results.

The work was done very well. The men were prompt, courteous and respectfully of our property. They removed the old concrete without so much as a nick on any adjacent walls. The finish product is exactly what we had in mind and are very pleased. We have since scheduled him to replace our patio with stamped concrete.

I am debating on whether to have it torn out or put an epoxy cover on it. He showed up on time and seemed very professional. He did a nice job. He was very honest on what I think the problem is.

Tom responded to our request for a bid within days. Once the project started, he had it completed within a work week. Tom was patient, answered all our questions, and the project looks great. The bid was in the middle range of the bids that we received (although all were within 10% or so of each other), but we had seen good feedback on Angies List on McGhee Concrete, and went with them.

The interaction was good, I appreciated him telling me what he thought it might take to replace the whole driveway. We needed to get an idea of what it might cost for if and when we might do it. He was courteous and gave me the information I needed. I found him on Angie's List and he does work in the area so that's one thing I appreciated. I can go look at other driveways he has done. We were looking to have the crack repaired and he seemed more interested in doing the whole driveway. We will eventually have to look into doing the whole driveway. He was very responsive and punctual, he came right after I called him. In the future, when we decide to do the work, if his is the lowest bid then we will go with him.

I spent $2700 on that work. They did a really good job.

John McGhee is a great guy and so far everything is going great. We are very happy and the job is almost finished after just 3 days. He has 2 other guys here working with him. He came out immediatley after we called and was able to start the job within a couple of days. He was prompt and on time. I think he is very well educated, too. I already have another job I would like to hire him for.

My experience with McGhee Construction was very positive, from the initial phone conversation to the completed project. Tom and his associates arrived around 8:00am and immediately went to work. They leveled the area for the slab, framed it, added the rock underlayment and rebar, got the building code inspector's approval and poured the concrete all in one day. They also sprayed concrete cure/sealer to ensure the concrete cured properly and returned the next day to cut the scribe lines to minimize and control cracks. Everybody worked in a professional manner and I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND them for your concrete work.
