Designer quit...Used day labor workers who had no design sense for landscaping, nor did they have the correct design plan with them. Mixed 2 different colors of mulch together and literally placed some of the plants on top of the mulch, not in the soil!

We have a severe slope on the side of our house, and needed a retaining wall put in to level the planting bed, and new shrubs along the front of the house. Brian came out and spent a great deal of time talking with us and listening to what my wife and I wanted. He made several suggestions and we contracted them to do the work. The work was delayed because of weather, but that was beyond their control. When they did come they got the entire job done in less than a day. While they were here, we asked them to till, edge and prepare another planting bed along the side of the house, which they agreed to do for a small additional charge. It all looks fantastic. We are very pleased and would definitely use them again.

He wasn't a lot of help. I didn't feel like he had the eye to beautify my front yard; you don't want someone to come in stick things where they fit. When I asked to replace the Pom Pom, he emailed me back with a different type of plant. I also found his prices to be very high. Overall, I didn't take away what I was looking for from that meeting.

We were unhappy with our existing landscaping company and contacted Brummel to give us a bid back in January. They contacted us quickly and set up an appointment for the following week. Brian showed up as scheduled and walked the yard with me to get an idea of what we wanted done. He answered all of my questions and within a day had sent us a bid which we accepted. They contacted us in early March and let us know the date they would be out to start the work. They showed up on time and began the work installing the french drains. I got a text at work from my wife telling me they had cut the line for Google fiber. The line was clearly marked but in their defense the line was only buried an inch or two and not the standard six inches. They contacted the service that marks the lines to report the cable being cut (more on that later). They trimmed the shrubs, grasses and roses and top dressed the mulch without incident. They also removed the river rocks from a bed in the corner of our yard. When I returned from work I noticed that they were installing a weed barrier in the same corner bed which I thought was strange as they were supposed to be adding mulch to the area. When I checked back later they were starting to put down new river rock in place of the river rock they had just taken up. I went to talk to the worker and let him know that it was supposed to be mulch in that area. They had to remove the rock they had installed as well as the weed mat and put down mulch the next day. I went back to the original bid and noticed that it actually had both mulch and river rock being installed in the area. My interpretation at the time of accepting the bid was that the charge was for removal of the river rock, not installation, so I take partial responsibility for that mistake. They also missed one tree when top dressing the mulch that they had to come back to do. Now back to the cut cable. We still did not have internet two days later so we decided to give Google fiber a call. They had not received not of the cut cable. They sent someone out within an hour to run a cable and we were up and running again. I contacted Brummel about the cable issue and they sent me the report they had filed with the company that marks the lines. So, Brummel did their part but the company that marks the lines did not forward that information on to Google Fiber. My advice for anyone in a similar situation would be to call the company yourself in addition to having them filing a report. Overall there are a lot of things to like about the company. They may some mistakes but they correcting them promptly and their communication was excellent. Their quality in the end was very good and would have been deserving of an A had it not been for the mistakes made. I do plan on using them in the future.

I waited for a month for my appointment with them to get my sprinklers winterized. I had the appointment confirmed one week prior to the scheduled date. Nobody showed up. They did not offer a solution, I had to go with another company. It might be an OK company, I will never know.

Designer was punctual on the appointment, evaluated the drainage issues and recommended a berm be placed near a fence line that would redirect the water flowing from the neighboring yard to the back of our property without causing a water back up in the neighboring yard. A drawn design and cost estimate was provided within a week in person by the designer. Questions were asked and answered promptly after the initial design and cost estimate. A contract was agreed to. Once scheduled the work was completed on time and less than estimated. The installation team was very good being punctual, professional, friendly and left no detail unaddressed. Site cleanup was excellent. The results of the design and installation were better than expected. The cost estimate was bid at the max with the understanding that numerous items detailed in the estimate could be less and would be billed less if the actual time or amounts of material were less than estimated. The installation crew required less time than estimated and some materials were less than estimated. These reductions were reflected in the final bill of $1,900 versus the estimate of $2,300. Part of the reduction was do to the work hard and work smart approach taken by the installers. Hats off to Brummel and their personnel. In the past I have done most work around the house myself. Age has slowed me somewhat. I am happy to have found a company and their personnel that have the work effort and penchant for providing quality results. Brummel will be used on another project being planned.

After almost three weeks of running across other contractors who seem to be dodging work more than looking for it I found Brummel and they act like pros. I used to be a maintenance contract coordinator for an oil refinery. This is the first crew I have talked to in three weeks who knows what a job walk is, how important it is, and scheduled me on the spot. Thank you Brummel Lawn and Landscape.

Provider consistently on time and provides highest quality of service. Anything provider is contacted about outside of contract is responded to quickly and also with highest quality of professional service. Billing is always accurate and payment options flexible. I have used this provider for three years now. This is also the service provider for the general areas lawn maintenance for five local homeowner communities of which mine is one.

First we had a consultation with Brian who then gave us a planting layout and estimate. Of the five companies we received estimates from, Brian was the only person that spent quite a bit of time with me learning what I want and the only one who came back and presented the estimate in person. I made a few changes and received the updated estimate promptly. They came out on time and removed all the rock, removed all the existing plants, planted new shrubs and trees, laid down new weed mat, put back the existing rock and topped it off with a layer of new rock. It was a very good experience and I would recommend they to everyone.

Very Good. Professional, thorough gentlemen. I don't have to worry if this week will look as good as last week. Consistent work ethics and crew, which is very hard to find. We would like to use them forever.

The owner contacted me concerning the negative review I had previously submitted; there was a miscommunication, but I feel we are on the right track now. I will use the company and submit another review at a later date. Brummel is to winterize my in-ground sprinkler system tomorrow also.

These guys are ethical! I emailed them for a free estimate to spray our elm trees which had fungus. They emailed back within 12 hours to say that we don't need to spray right now. They said that our rainy spring season caused a lot of fungus around the KC area. And because it's autumn and most of the leaves had already fallen to the ground because of the fungus, that there was no value in spraying them at this time. They suggested that if we had a rainy spring next year, that spraying would be a good idea. The email concluded by saying that they did not want to sell us a product that we don't need. It's nice to know that there are still some companies that believe in ethics!!!

We didn't use them because they never followed up after speaking with us twice.

Due the rainy spring we had to wait several weeks before they could get started. They came on the day we had planned to leave town. Because we weren't here when they worked a few things didn't get done right. They were able to come out recently and correct the problems. Overall I would use them again. We are satisfied especially with the design that Kyle did for us.

I've used Brummel Lawn for several years now and appreciate this group! I love that I don't have to even think about my lawn anymore. The team comes, treats the lawn and leaves paperwork letting me know they were here. They even came by this week to let me know what they'd recommend for fall. My lawn is definitely greener and it's nice to know that it's being taken care of by a local company who does a great job.

We have done business with this company for several years. This year their work was really sloppy. I was home a couple of days when they came through to mow and it seemed to me that they were in a rush. They were in and out in 15 min. or less and that was with the weed eating also. They left the grass clippings in the yard and were the edging looked bad afterwards. I had weeds behind my ac unit a foot tall that they had not even touched. We ended up swtiching to a new service.

Mike and Jay are very personable and were awesome to work with. They came out and got the job done quickly (3 days) and professionally. On sod laying day, the sod was delivered late (not their fault) and they brought in extra crew to finish. They came back to complete minor repairs and I am very happy with what was done. The price was right too. I highly recommend them. I moved into this house that had been flipped and my back yard was a mud pit. Having two dogs this was not acceptable so I needed a solution quickly. Brummel listened and understood. I have a huge corner lot so this was a big deal for me. I truly appreciate everything they have done for me.

The scheduler was polite and friendly, and the serviceman arrived on time. He did his work efficiently and answered all my questions. took his shoes off before he entered the house, which I appreciated. Very professional.

Since this is a new home and there was a lot of shrubbery around and I wanted somebody to show me how low things could be trimmed. They did that work around the entire house. They did a very nice job. Their punctuality is what stood out the most about them. The gentleman that came out was very patient in answering my questions about the various things that I planned to do around the house and how to take care of them. I had no complaints about them.

Nick came out and killed all of my grass in our front yard. Returned a week later and verti-cut and applied grass seed, fertilizer, and get my sprinkler system to water several times a day to get the grass seed to take and grow a beautiful front yard. After a month the yard started filling in very nicely. It has been two months now, and my front yard is looking like the best yard in the neighborhood!
