This was a fantastic company to deal with. They quoted a fair price, toward the high end of the range that I was quoted by other companies, but fair. The quality of their workmanship was superb, they were punctual, highly professional, did everything they said they would, completed it in a timely manner, and left the place perfectly clean after the job. I was very pleased with the work and it was a pleasure doing business with this company.

We could not be happier with our brand new decks. From the very first day that Steve came out to bid our job over one year ago, we knew immediately he was the one that we wanted to build our deck. We did get other bids, but Steve was the most professional and knowledgeable, by far, about the entire project. He showed up on time every time. He always called to let us know what to expect with every step of the project. He was on the job site every day to answer any questions we had. He had a very clean cut, professional crew working here everyday. They were polite and friendly and did a fabulous job. They built these decks with tremendous precision. They always cleaned up after themselves at the end of every day. I could go on and on about what a great experience we had working with Steve and his crew. We absolutely love the decks they put on our home. It make us feel like we are living in a brand new home. The high quality products we used were only surpassed by the overall experience we had with Steve Folsom and Archideck. You might find a "fly by night", less expensive deck builder out there, but you will not find a better overall experience and end result than you will get from Archideck. They are simply the best out there and you will be happy with your results.

The deck lwas professionally done and looks very nice. The crew did a good job of working around and through the weather. They cleaned up all the materials and left the site looking well kept.

They did a great job tying into the existing exterior walls of our home, and making sure the roof was architecturally sound, over and beyond Overland Park regulations. Owner Steve Folsom was extremely professional and accessible throughout the entire process. His crew of long-term employees was extremely professional, competent and friendly. The job was completed, as predicted, within 4 days. Their bid was higher than the others we received, but the professionalism, construction knowledge, architectural experience, and Archadeck warranty made us feel that the extra was worthwhile. It also allows them to pay for long-term employees, who have proven they are very competent in their trade, and are well-compensated for those skills and reliability.

We received three bids from contractors and Archadeck impressed us the most. Steve is a real professional and answers any and all questions in detail. His craftsmen were outstanding in every way. They arrived on time, performed exacting work and took pride in the end result. I visited another client's porch with Steve before signing the contract and could see the outstanding work. We could not be happier with our new living space!

Steve's team worked quickly and efficiently to finish the project in about four days. Everyone was very professional, and they worked well together. I could not be more pleased with the results.

We were intrigued by Steve from the beginning as he is a true professional and provided the level of detail and explanation we desired. Steve was very informative and detail-oriented with regard to planning the project design, outlining the specifics in cost for each element of the design (including stairs design and placement, also the addition of lights on the deck level and the stairs) and working within the space and elevation. What a pleasure it was to work with a group that was professional and took pride in what they do. Steve was thorough with the estimate. Explained each line item. Showed up when he promised. Stayed on the job until it was finished. Work was high quality. So refreshing to have such a positive experience.

End result was excellent, even better than expected! Would highly recommend their services.....price is on the high end but reflects the quality of the materials chosen and the workmanship provided.

The work went smoothly. His crew was there on time, worked hard and cleaned up after themselves each day. Steve was careful to communicate with us so we always knew what was being done and how long it would take. We made a couple of changes during the process and he willingly followed through with our changes.

The whole project went smoothly. Steve and the carpenters are very professional. The carpenters are fine and exacting craftsmen. The deck understructure is remarkably well done. The wood on the top deck was screwed in with precise detail (ipe wood). I can not say enough how good of a job they did. Steve was a hands-on supervisor for the project and checked on the progress often. The result is a beautiful deck. We could not be happier.

Steve was very thorough in his description of options and what to expect from his company. He and his crew were very professional, organized and cleaned up the site every day prior to leaving. Steve told us how long the project would take and he was on target. He was responsive to phone calls and when he did not answer responded within minutes to a voice mail. The deck and railings are very beautiful and we are very satisfied with this company.

This by far was the best home improvement experience we have ever had. Steve and the Archadeck crew are the most professional contractor group we have ever dealt with. We did end up spending more than we had initially planned, but realized after meeting with several contractors that our initial expectations were way off base. We started with getting estimates from five contractors, four from Angies list and one from a personal recommendation. Of the contractors contacted, Steve was by far the most professional and presented the most complete package. (One of the most recommended providers on Angies list made an initial presentation, but then never followed up, never returned calls place to their showroom.) None of the others that made presentations came close to the professionalism that Archadeck showed. Steve was prompt with all communication via phone, email and text messaging. He happily worked around our schedules, even meeting me at a local McDonalds when timing was tight. He is easy to talk with, answers all questions, is honest and comes through with everything he says he can do, and is upfront about what was not possible. He gave us a list of referrals, and helped find people from that list who were willing to let us view work he had done. Both families were very happy and sang Steve's praises. (One contractor said he would only give us a customer referral list once we had signed a contract.) As a female doing most of the research and legwork he was never condescending or put off at the questions I asked. He was crystal clear as to what work his crew would be doing and where subcontractors would be retained, offering us names and numbers for people he normally used as well as the option to find our own if we wanted. In the end we went with his recommendations and were very pleased with their work. At each decision point we were presented with every option available concerning both design and materials, and he worked to keep us in line with the more realistic budget we finally set. When we decided to add a pergola for shade, he patiently went over design options until I made a choice. Then I changed my mind, opting for a more intricate design, and that was okay too. I have to say that the work crew is AWESOME. The three of them started promptly at the same time every morning, and worked all day. They are extremely skilled, professional craftsmen who are courteous and easy-going. There were no problems with no-shows or unbecoming language. I could ask a question of any of them and get the same treatment I got from Steve - professional, responsive and informative. The work crew even helped my husband haul his ceramic grill (his baby) up to the deck once everything was finished. They also helped move the outdoor furniture we had purchased into the completed room. What we have now is a beautiful addition to our home that is comfortable, usable and extremely well built. We are on the porch as much as possible, looking forward to cooler weather and rainy days. You cannot possibly have a better experience than what we have had. Steve and his crew did an outstanding job building our deck. Steve is a very knowledgable and kind man who patiently answered all our questions. In fact, we met 5 times prior to hiring him, in order to determine the scope of our project. I don't think the average person needs to meet this many times in order to build a deck. However, my husband and I like to research everything and Steve answered all of our questions thoroughly. We felt confident that hiring Archadeck meant that we would receive a superior quality deck with no hassle and that was exactly what happened. Steve manages everything seamlessly including his own crew that builds the deck along with any other contractors needed, such as electricians, people to install gutters, etc. All of the workers were friendly and prompt. Our handyman, who we have know for many years and who built his own house, told us that our deck is the best built deck he's ever seen. We found Archadeck on Angies List and hired them because of the fantastic reviews and because of the great customer service that Steve gave us during our initial meetings. We love our beautiful new deck! Having a roof over part of our deck has been fantastic... even when its been 100 degrees outside, we've still been able to enjoy our deck due to the shade provided by the roof and the ceiling fan.

Steve and his crew did a Fantastic job. We had gotten several bids and didn't feel comfortable with any of them. We had to cut into the roof of our house to attach the valted ceiling to the porch. We wanted to find a company that knew how to do this - not guess at it or have to hire someone to help on the job. Steve and his company are very knowledgeable about every aspect of the work. Actually Steve will answer your questions before you even ask! The first visit with Steve lasted almost two hours as we went over every detail of the project. Steve talked about different kinds of wood, the screen, explained every step of the process, and told us what to expect every day of the build, next month and next year. Although we pretty much knew what we wanted, his advice on the different types of materials, their durability and his suggestions are invaluable. Everyone is extremely knowledgeable, professional, friendly, and takes great pride in their work. Steve has his own crews of carpenters, painters, electricians and roofers and these guys have worked together for many years. Thomas (carpenter) and his crew are amazing. Some of our guy friends are pretty decent carpenters but all were impressed with the work Thomas and his crew did. They are top notch. I was impressed how tidy the guys were -- even though our yard was covered with wood and materials, everything was neatly stacked up and the yard was cleaned up when they left for the evening. After completion, we had a board warp and Steve came out and replaced it. Bottom line -- we love, love, love our porch and spend all our time out there. It's beautiful and looks like it's always been there. People walk/drive by to look at it and our neighbors are jealous.

The entire experience was great. I'd recommend them to anyone. Steve was always on time and so was his crew. They went above an beyond standard building codes and we got a great deck to enjoy. We even had a board that warped and Steve came to replace it right away. They might be a little more than other companies but you get what you pay for. They finished the job in 3 days just as they said they would. Great company!

Excellent company, honest and dependable! Steve was wonderful to work with. He described in detail everything that was to be done. The crew was so hard working, that is so difficult to find. They were always here at 7:30 in the morning and worked as late as they needed to finish the project they were working on at the time. The decks look beautiful!! I am so pleased with the outcome. We secured 4 quotes from local contractors and after discussing our plans and budget, selected Archadeck to build our screened porch. From the initial day, Steve & his team kept us informed on what would be accomplished that day, reviewed that day’s work and made suggestions that would improved the appearance & enjoyment of the porch. If changes were made to the original plans, the cost for those changes were detailed and put into writing. Thomas, our lead carpenter, had years of experience and would look at something and if he did not like what he saw, would stop all work and discuss his concerns with his team and redo the work that he wasn’t satisfied with as if the work was being done on his home. The project was completed on time without any “surprises” that wasn’t disclosed on the original detailed quote. We are extremely satisfied with Archadeck’s work (our neighbors our jealous of our new screened porch) and recommend this company without hesitation.

They were great! After our estimate, they were able to start our job sooner than expected due to a cancellation. They crew was always on time and were very tidy. The job was completed in 3 days.

Archadeck employees were always very professional during both the original deck design/installation and the decking replacement through manufacturer warranty. They did a great job and cleaned up afterward. My only negative comment is related to pricing. They are expensive. Perhaps that just goes along with getting quality work and customer service.

Archadeck was the third company we contacted to give us an estimate for replacing our outdoor deck. Our experience with Archadeck was night and day different from the other companies! After leaving a phone message, Archadeck contacted us the same day and came out the next day for an estimate. Steve spent two hours with us discussing decking options, showing us products, and assessing our needs He answered our questions easily and shared with us the pros and cons of various products. Once a decision was made to go ahead with the project, Steve showed us a schematic drawing of our deck and had a proposal for a diagonal placement of the floor boards of the deck. Other companies wanted to charge us extra for that design that Steve's company provided without an extra upcharge. His crew was very professional. The deck was dismantled one afternoon and the new deck started the next day. Steve's crew is efficient, fastidious about cleaning up each day, and the workmanship is excellent! Steve's crew is loyal to him and have worked for him for many years. They are not "seasonal" help. The entire project from tear down to replacement was done in less than four days. WE WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND ARCHADECK TO ANYONE WHO WANTS TO WORK WITH REAL PROFESSIONALS! THIS EXPERIENCE WAS EXTREMELY POSITIVE! WE CAN'T WAIT TO ENTERTAIN ON OUR NEW DECK!

We have had several contractor projects done on our home over the years and this project was by far the most professional and hassle-free we have ever done. It started when Steve first came out to visit with us regarding our deck replacement project. Unlike the other companies who appeared to be there to do a sales job, Steve took the time to educate us about all the things that we should consider whether we were going to do business with him or someone else. His in-depth knowledge helped us make the right choices so that we would be not only be happy with the deck when it was finished, but also for the long term. Regarding the actual build, Thomas and the crew were simply amazing. They started our job on a Tuesday morning removing our existing wood deck and had the new two-tier composite deck completely finished by Friday noon. They were very professional and friendly guys, but most of all they were extremely efficient. While it was obvious that they each had a lot of individual experience, what really was impressive was how well they worked together as a team. No standing around figuring out what to next, they were all working steadily the entire time they were on the job and we love the way the deck turned out. Bottom line: Great Company, Great People and a great experience.
