Always Helpful Movers

This was our second move with John Horner and Always Helpful Movers, and we remain convinced there could be none better. Moving is exhausting and stressful. John exudes confidence and, as such, is very reassuring. This second move was perfect, and we plan to use John again in a future move.

Hiring Always Helpful was such a terrible mistake. Everything that you could imagine thought could have gone wrong, went terribly wrong. First, we scheduled our move about 10 days in advance for THREE MOVERS. Two days before the move, the GM called and said he had a funeral to attend, and HE scheduled the move for 1:30, stating HE was going to be late. Cool... The TWO movers that showed up was 30 minutes late which is a huge deal because it set our move back. The TWO men moved EXTREMELY SLOW which is unacceptable bc we are paying by the hour. After about 30 minutes, I said, When is the 3rd mover coming? They said he was on the way. After ONE HOUR PASSED, they were getting nowhere bc we had a three bedroom town home. The owner John was called and tried to give a discounted rate, but it did not matter bc the two men moved slowly. Finally the cacucasian (yes race matters) owner showed up as the third man. The owner seemed VERY ANNOYED that he had to come work as the third man. He was very aloof and condescending. The guy that had the funeral Finally showed up after hour 3. The CAUCASIAN owner said to us, who are African American, said he was working "like slaves" trying to get the move done. He only worked about one hour. The slave comment was VERY INSENSITIVE AND SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN SAID. I was promised that the move would take no more than 3 to 4 hours. The move from beginning to end was SIX HOURS!!! We had to pay for their slowness and incompetence of the owner. The owner should have gotten another third man to fill in for the guy that had the funeral. The owner did come himself but that was a huge mistake. I will NEVER... and I mean NEVER hire these people to do ANYTHING for me EVER AGAIN. I am hurt by the insensitive comments, and I was lied to about pricing. And they took way too long.

My movers were abit late, but they made up for it on how well they handeled my items and moved them with no problems. Will give them both 5 Stars. I felt bad because I have 2 flights of stairs to go up and down.( that is why I got movers)

I hired John and his crew to help me move locally this past weekend and I couldn’t be happier with their professionalism, prices and willingness to go above and beyond to help me, in light of my disability and the absence of any support locally to help. This meant so much more to me than just caring for my possessions. Their service was genuinely heartfelt.

Love these guys. They are honest, dependable and take excellent care to pad or wrap furniture and move items without any scratches, dents, etc. They are super careful! I also appreciate how friendly and courteous they are. It's like having your friends move your furniture. Excellent movers!

John and his crew were fantastic to work with. They were efficient, extremely hard working and friendly. The work was completed ahead of schedule.

This is by far the most prompt group of individuals we have worked with. They gave us notice before arriving, arrived on time and completed all the moving in the exact time frame they quoted us. This is all while moving our beloved pieces of furniture carefully in our home. I will be using them for my next move without a doubt.

John Horner, Franklin, Oscar, and Oscar Jr. were pros and worked very hard to move our belongings to the new home. They were organized and inquired when in doubt of items to pack, then later to get the boxes in the new home. Everyone was respectful and I must say honest as we had some valuables that they brought to our attention. Most important to us we had some outside help in packing prior to Always Helpful Movers and John discounted their contribution to our initial estimate. Moving is stressful and I was just released from the hospital, so my wife had the major responsibilities of this move and there were NO problems. A great crew of guys.

I cannot say enough good things about this company and its staff. I have hired AHM many times, this was the 4th move for our family. We have been getting situated to be closer in the same city. We have one final move coming in November and I couldnâ t even imagine using another company. John, the owner came out and helped with moving my elderly mother. They are kind, compassionate, professional and thereâ s no hidden fees. You cannot beat the pricing either. Very reasonable! My momâ s couch was accidentally torn in the move, John provided a substitute couch while trying to get hers fixed. When they found out that it couldnâ t be fixed, he replaced her couch with one even better. Aside from all of that, they do all of this unto the Lord with a greater cause at hand!
